Respectfully disagree Papa. We want a mentor for a passing QB not a backup QB. Someone who can teach him about pocket awareness, mechanics, stepping up and holding on to the rock. Otherwise, Lamar like RG will have an abbreviated career. Aside from a miserable OL, which needs to be addressed in the off-season, Lamar will need some mentoring on the above issues. If that doesnt happen we are back to square 1.

With Joes departure, who is Lamars backup next year ? Where do we go; FA or draft ? Pls no RGIII jokes.
-
Ouch. Rough game. But damn good season and AFCN champs. Will take it and get ready for next season.
-
Tough game and another one too close to call. Nothing surprises these days - the team who executes best will win!
-
Hmmm. Well, that's good right ? Wait, the last time just about everyone picked the Bolts
-
I see a couple of things - First, I agree Lamar and the offense are going to need to go more vertical (pass to Andrews in last SD game). They started out passing in Cleveland game, used a good mix in first half, then got ultra conservative in second half and almost gave away the lead. Lamar will need to play his best game to win this one. Second and Defensively, I think we will get a different look from Rivers and the offense this game. Whatever communication problems from the Cleveland game - Jarvis Landry long TD (and almost a second one - 90+ yarder) and Perrimans long plays - best be cleaned up. Our pass rush will be huge again and needs to keep Rivers in duress all game. Should be a great game. Lamar and the team will need another stellar effort to win this Sunday.

Gut and head were right. Damn close game. That goali line missed TD by Lamar was game changer; turned what could have been. 27-7 lead at half into a close dang game. Team played not to lose in 4th Q and nearly bit us in the arse. Lamar was right after game - gotta clean that stuff up and play to win on Sunday !
-
As a fan, love the accolades and respect. From a players perspective, I hope they play and execute with the sense of urgency and swagger from last Saturday night. Im seeing this game as a lot closer than most. If they come out firing on all cylinders and as energized as the chargers game, I think we are in decent shape. If we come out flat and Cleveland is sky high, we will be in for a donneybrook. My gut and head both tell me this is very close game. Just like the first game in Cleveland.
-
Thats in our past for sure. Cant change that. This is in front of us. Tough game for sure. Id like to see us get the monkey off our backs this Sunday at M & T. Should be a lot of fun and excitement in this one.
-
Yep, this game will arguably be the toughest hardest fought game in this Lamar run. The game and the outcome should go right down to the wire just like the chargers game. Just the way weve seen at the past five years. Do we know any other way ? Buckle your chinstraps and lets roll

Max, Damn if you didnt call it ! My apologies to the pigskin prognosticator who believed. Awesome win !
-
Max, gotta disagree with ya on this one. Unless the Bisquet felt the need for a Christmas bonus or thought Harbaugh was about to jump ship, I would have waited until after this game or next. I would have waited for tonights outcome and see how he coached tonight and next Sunday before making the offer. Thats just me- if Im wrong and he coaches his butt off tonight I ll be the first one to admit and Im wrong and send my apology.
-
I dont understand the timing of this move at all. Why wouldnt the team have waited until after tomorrow night or the final game to make a decision. How does this look if we end up 8-8 which is quite possible. Not a fan of the decision, at least not right now.
-
Max, it will be interesting to see how this team responds against arguably the best playing team in the AFC if not the entire NFL. You could argue the Saints too. Regardless, It will take a Herculean effort and near perfect performance to have even a shot in this game. Lets see how his team plays for him Saturday night
-
Its a tad early but with Joe's certain departure, I'm wondering who we get to backup Lamar next year. I really like Philly's Nick Foles. He's a SB winning QB, throws a nice ball, and could be a good mentor. Dont know he's available but will need someone. We need a pocket passer (not RG III) to mentor Lamar.
-
The guy is getting absolutely worked and exposed every game. Plus, he cant tackle anymore. Rivers and Co are going to light him up big time Saturday night. Anyone know who is the heir apparent ? What about the kid from Texas (Elliot) ? is he on IR ? I like this kid Chuck Clark (Va Tech) filing in for Jefferson but who have we got to back up Weddle ? Safety, LB and Pass rusher(s) are big time D needs for upcoming FA & draft.
-
Cleveland game will be a a helluva game. Lamar vs Baker show ? Should be fun. Papa, sounds like you are on the Brown's bandwagon too. Brownies D has some play makers, Miles Garret, Jabrille Peppers. A couple of years back before the 2017 draft, I was clamoring for the ravens to draft Peppers. You and a few others dissed me and said he was overrated. We got Bobby Humphrey - who is dang good - but Peppers looks like a huge playmaker. Time will tell. Too bad we dont have both !!!! Meanwhile, Browns - Ravens + Baker vs Lamar could be a fun rival.

Ravens PO chances: Slim and none, and slim left town

Dogfight w Bucs as expected. Every game in the NFL is tough; no gimmies.
-
It should be a slobber knocker. After Sundays heartbreaking OT loss, wouldnt be surprised by a very flat performance. Lets see how the team responds and gets off the mat. I could see a very close game and an outcome going either way.
-
Early thoughts or words of wisdom from any of you soothsayers out there ? This looks to be a helluva lot closer game than most pundits are calling.
-
IDK but we need an infusion of speed, cover skills and ball hawking thats been absent since the days of No 20.
-
Agreed 100%. See the back of his jersey In coverage and too many tackles 3 to 4 yards behind the line of scrimmage. In a very small way he reminds me of Ray Lewis in his very last year when he became more of a liability than an asset on the field. Regardless, wr need more LBs like Kenny Young - dudes with speed tackling and cover ability . CJ is not that guy .

It sounds like a definite maybe to me
