Crav, dont be blinded by a 3 game sample set. Its true their D has underpeformed but our O hasnt exactly lit things up either. Whose to say they arent just as overdue on D as we are on our offense ? Oakland has a lot of offensive firepower and some real studs - Carr, Murray and Cooper - that will providea formidable challenge to our D. Lets hope our D doesnt sell these guys short on such a small sample size. Expect another grind it out nailbiter. Imagine that !
-
Anthony Levine ? The boy can make plays !
-
Yep Cleetz. We wont have the luxury going "conservative" against the Raiders. Plus, I think we will need to put together all 3 phases to beat Oakland.
-
Imagine how good this team could be if actually played a complete game - all 3 phases - against a good team?
-
Another W for the cardiac kids. Unbelievable W and amazingly 3-0. Still not on any of pundits radar screen - which is good. Still no running game and shaky line play. Lots to work on but something to build on.
-
IDK Crav, every offense has generally lit up our Dean Pees D in the past couple years. Why would you expect any different tomorrow. Bortles has a cannon and cadre of good receivers. Like Max says, we'll know a little bit more tomorrow whether our D is turning the corner.
-
Yep, I'm starting Bortles over Russell Wilson on my fantasy team.
-
Tough score to call. We are 2-0 against arguably 2 of the worst teams in the AFC; haven't played well on either side of the ball. ST play has been outstanding. Uneven offense and defensive play thus far. Jags are desperate; have underachieved/underperformed, and cannot afford to drop further behind in AFCS. And they are at home. Bortles and his WR corps are way overdue. Conventional wisdom says the desperate team, playing at home, wins. Too close to call but I'll say 23-20. Like last year, another game winning last second field goal.
-
Wow; mustering up a measly 1 run on world beater and 5 run era guy Clay Buchholz? Man, when the wheels come off the cart they really come off.
-
I believe we beat KC that year 9-6. Didn't we get waxed by the Texans and Broncos and even lost to the Skins that year ? That was the same year Ray Rice had his miracle 1st down on 3rd and a gazillion.
-
Be nice to see this guy on D since his ball hawking skills were apparently the talk of the preseason. Although only preseason, you'd like to think he contribute to the back end of our D. Plus, he has hands and can actually the ball - a skill that our current secondary - aside from Weddle - has been lacking since the Ed Reed era. With Jax and Bortles in "gun slinging" mode on Sunday, the entire secondary is going to need to step up play big time from last week. This guy could provide a big spark, and help galvanize the secondary. I suppose its only a matter of time before he sees substantial PT on the defensive side of the ball.
-
Anyone seen this guy on the field other than Special Teams ? This guy was awesome in preseason as both LB and safety. He might provide a needed spark and depth in the secondary; sooner than later. Just curious.

Max, I like your thinking on the "grinding it out " although we don't have the 2k Defense to rely on. It was impressive to see the "wake up" and "shut down" albeit against the Browns offense. 2-0 is 2-0 and that's important, especially after last year. It'll be interesting to see where this goes. But we have GOT to establish some kind of running game. Next week against Jax would be a good time to start. Fwiw, after getting waxed in San Diego and coming home 0-2, I expect to Gus Bradley to have his Jags fired up and playing in desperation mode. Meanwhile, Harbs ought to have our boys still pissed after last year's game here. Sunday's game will tell us a little more about this team.
-
Tsyl, Get your on any Sunday and everyone gets a mulligan rationale, but we played the worst defense we'll see all year. It's early but cmon. Not looking for style points here but some improvement. And we were dedicating the game to Coach Brooks. Really ? Yes, we're 2-0 and dang fortunate but we won't get by against legit playoff teams down the road.
-
A W is a W but weve just beaten about the 2 worst teams in football. Cleveland might have the worst defense in football. We could easily be 0-2 right now. They ought to start playing pissed off and like they are 0-2. This team won't be able to hang with the good teams unless they fix the offense and get a dang running game. When does Dixon return ?
-
We saw this coming today folks.
-
So much for winning for the gipper - Clarence Brooks - today. Ouch. McCown looks like all world for the 3rd game In a row.
-
Tsy, Good questions. One never knows how these games are going to turn out . I guess we get our answers on Sunday.
-
After Gausman's gem in beantown, Gallardo lays the big egg at home tonight. Disappointing but not surprising. From here on, Buck and boys ought to start Gausman, Jiminez, Bundy and Tillman. That's it. gallardo and Miley are automatic Ls and a guaranteed 6-7 runs per start. If we have any thoughts for playoffs, Bucks got to limit our SP to the above guys - no Gallardo or Miley.
-
Ha ha ! We haven't had a walk in the park game in a couple of years. This team knows only to grind - whether it's the leagues best or worst. Look for a slobberknocker
-
Sunday could be a track meet. Look for McCown to have another epic game against our D. Joe and the O need to bring their A game.
-
Big win last night in beantown !
-
Yep; but it was a damn ugly one. Let's hope the Miley experiment is over
