Yep. Opposing Ds should crowd the box. But at least we'll see what we got. Worse case, Schaub has a meltdown and we go to Clausen. The worst thing that can happen is we lose out and go 3-13 and grab a top 3 pick. As long as we play hard and show signs of life, I'm cool with that. Every dog has its day - you are seeing it on full display. Personally, I'm in 2016, pre FA and draft mode

Tbird, I like your optimism and spirit. I do think if we draft EXTREMELY well and acquire a few WR playmakers, via FA, we have a chance to start turning this ship around next year. However, Ozzie and Co's whiffs in the last few drafts are now showing up and others - Pitt and Cincy- are arguably putting more talent on the field, esp on offense. Also, the FO has got to successfully rework Joe's, Jimmy Smith's contracts (among others) and free up $ to acquire some talent like we did when we picked up Boldin, etc. I hear what youre saying about a quick turnaround but its only going to happen with both an excellent draft and timely, effective FA acquisitions. Ozzie & Co need to hit homers on both fronts to turn this ship around.

I like Allen too. And who knows, Terrence West and Allen could become a nice tandem for the future. Mentored by Forsett, this could be a nice backfileld. As for Schaub, who the hell knows what we will get. Maybe he will pleasantly surprise or throw a couple of pick 6's . I guess we'll know come Monsay night .

T Bird, I generally agree but am wondering what Best Player Available really is and whether Ozzie still has "it" . Since about the 08 draft (Flacco and Rice), who have we drafted that's become a star or all-pro (aside from CJ Mosely) ? The cupboard is awfully empty and this team has fallen way behind the likes of Cincy and others. I know we ve drafted low every year but so have the Steelers and Cincy and both their rosters are loaded with good, young talent esp at WR. I can't say the same about our team. Can you ?

Spen, I am on the verge of bailing on the season - watching, NFL network, Sirius radio, the whole deal. The NFL product has become so compromised this year- officiating, poor play, mediocre teams, etc. And with the Ravens having an epically horrific season and now Flacco out, I am about done with the team this year. Unfortunately, I don't see the NFL product getting any better- at least in the short term, maybe never. Its almost going the route of the NBA which is brutal to watch (unless you need a power nap on Xmas day). Teamwise, I am holding out hope that, given this years epically UNLUCKY year, that somehow, some way, and (maybe the grace of God), this organization turns it around in a year or two.. They did it once before, after BBs meltdown season 8-9 years ago, and won another SB. With the watered down, parity driven league, and a few lucky breaks, maybe we will hoist the Lombardy in the next 3-5 years again,

And Max, that's maybe where it needs to start - D. The D has lost its swagger and smash mouth identity. Even though we won Sunday, the Rams beat the livin crap out of us - the way we used to. Not that we don't have gaping holes on the offensive side, but its been embarrassing watching this team get pushed around, esp in the LB and secondary, for the past several years. Cal me old school, but Id like to see the return of smashmouth D, starting in 2016. And yes, D wins championships !

If we go D In round 1, wouldn't mind picking this kid Bosa from OSU. Plays with a high motor and reminds many of JJ Watt.
-
Guess we'll see what he's got now that Forsett is out. Could be a good thing - Forsett, Buck West - in next year's backfield.
-
Nah, it's all good and fun on this board. Funkorama season though.
-
Max, I'm with you. I want to see Buck Allen kick some butt. Stick hometown boy in there at RB too. While we are at it, I want to see our WR and TE go for broke and pull out the stops! Defense? Pees needs to go for broke and unleash whatever he's got, too.

Should be fun ? What the hell does that mean? Yeah, If your a Raven or Art Modell hater or something. Whatever happened to responsible journalism? Never mind.

Ravens Insider: Jeremy Zuttah placed on injured reserve
varaven45 replied to ExtremeRavens's topic in News Feeds
Can we put the entire team on injured reserve and save em all for next season ? -
Heard Mike n Mike yesterday too. Unfortunate ending on Sunday; like our season.
-
I think it's a 1-2 yr rebuild. A lot hinges on Joe's contract, our FA acquisitions and the draft.
-
Too bad we didn't have the referee from the infamous 5th down game - 1940 Cornell vs Dartmouth. We'll never see this happen again- NFL or college. http://cornellalumnimagazine.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=2277

We need a 2015-2020 version of Ray Ray to LEAD the D. Don't know where we get em ' but that's what we need. Yesterday's penultimate play (Dumervil's gem) showcased the massive void in leadership and accountability. If I'm Ozzie (and scouting staff), I am spending 24/7 seeking a Defensive leader type - a Luke Keuchley, JJ Watt kind of guy - in the 2016 draft. We don't have a single leader or potential leader on the current roster.

The mental errors are magnified when the talent level is so awful that the margin for error is razor thin. This team like Jax is so bad that you can't make a mistake at the end and expect to win. In our case, we had what 4 TOs which in essence handed the game over to them. Bottom line - bad is bad and you can't make chicken salad out of chicken poop. 4 TOs and bonehead penalties add to the poop.
-
Yep. It could be a helluva lot worse - no franchise, no SB wins, no fans, crappy owner. Bump in the road - We'll be alright
-
Today's loss defines this season, this team- play just well enough to LOSE. We have a losing team this year. Everything that' could have wrong this year has. It happens. But there's a damn fine line between winning and losing. We are a crappy team but so is half the NFL . Finish up the year, have a solid draft, maybe Periman, SSS and Suggs return, and Ozzie gets game this offseason. The Biscuit must be dying; I know I am and can't wait for April 2016 to hurry the hell up Every pro franchise has its Armageddin year - we are witnessing it front and center. We'll laugh about it later, maybe next year or 2017.
-
Excuses, excuses guys. What are we doing playing a close game to begin with ? Easy, this team doesn't understand how to win, at least this season. And please no more friggin running the table dribble. We love play another nail biter next week and it'll come down to last drive.
-
We just witnessed the epitomy of our season. Loss to a horrible team which means we are a horrible team. 2-7 is who we are. We are approaching bottom but not yet
-
I wonder if they'd make a run at Megatron in the offseason? Nah, plus he's on the wrong side of 30; always dinged up, too. We need a young early-mid twenties version of Megatron or Boldin. .

If it comes down to one or the other, I like Terrence West (over Tally) as the long term solution. If nothing else, going into 2016 we have the three (four) headed monster of Forsett, Allen, West, and Tally. I Its similar to our circa 2008-9 backfield (Rice, McGahee, LeRon). Moving forward, I like it. Now lets fix the damn WR corps, the other holes on the O, and the overhaul on D. .
