It will be awhile before Jimmy Smith is ready to play. It's not like he's a Vet that can lean on his experience if he's only 80-85%. He's a rookie, and as such, we can't put him on the field until he's 95-100%. It's his raw talent that is going to make up for his lack of experience. We need him at 100%. It also takes 6+ weeks to heal from a high ankle sprain and that's a best case scenario. We're probably looking at Jacksonville or Arizona. If he can't get on the field for one of those two games, I say keep him out until after the Pittsburgh game and he can return during the Seattle game.

Nahhhh, one good game does not mean this team is back. They're hurting and they're beaten and they probably just matched up well against the Titans. They'll blow at least one to the Bengals or the Browns and they won't sniff the playoffs this year. Tomlin is a good coach, he'll keep em competitive, but they're as good as cooked this year! At least I hope! lol lol lol

It's one thing to be intense and a fierce competitor, it's entirely different when that turns to thinking you run the team or even a facet of the team. Mason I'm sure is an extremely wise vet WR, however he's got to know his role! There's far better ways to get on board and contribute to a team. It's unfortunate that Mason doesn't see the opportunities that are in front of him. Just because he's not a premier wideout anymore doesn't mean that can't contribute in a big way. This is very disappointing to hear. Cmon man, you're in collusion with a guy that shot himself in the leg! What's wrong with that decision making?

Justice will be done this year! This Ravens team looks good good good! And people said we had purple shades on Crav! lol lol lol Ok, maybe we always do just a little bit! We certainly weren't 1-3 going into the bye were we!

Fair enough, I can understand that. However....if the Ravens never went to Baltimore I would still be a Browns fan!!!!! A Browns fan!!! That simply will not do. Let me explain...I never had a father to tell me to like a team that's local etc. So one day, after playing a season of pop warner for the first time, I decided that I needed a favorite team. I clicked the TV on, it was the playoffs mind you, and the Browns were playing the Broncos. There were 2 min left and the Browns had it all wrapped up! This was a no brainer...this team was awesome! All they had to do was run it in from the 2! Well ya'll know the ending of that story. However, not to be deterred I was one loyal bastard! lol I remained a Browns fan despite "The Fumble". Finally when they moved to Baltimore I had to make a decision. Having no ties to the city itself, I loved the players and I became a Ravens fan. So...without the move I'd still be in misery!!!! lol lol lol lol

Are you saying you'd rather colts never left? Would you rather be a Colts fan than a Ravens fan? Just trying to clarify, not trying to be argumentative, I just don't understand your statement fully.

Please oh god tell me this is true!!!!!! Tell me there is justice in this world!!!!

Ravens Insider: Ravens add CB depth with McCann, cut Burgess
yagersports replied to ExtremeRavens's topic in News Feeds
Is this guy gonna contribute? Anyone know anything about him? Is he just a special teamer? It seems he had one really great play in the NFL and not much else to speak of. -
Colt McCoy, Mark Sanchez, and Rex Grossman

Absolutely not I would wager, however the point remains and is undeniable. Flacco should pass for more yards than those 3 without question. I guarantee Joe would agree. Likely by the end of the season will have passed them and he'll be in the top 10. The other three haven't probably played as good defenses. I'm just pointing something out for improvements sake, not to tear the guy up. He set the bar, not myself. I believe that he can make it there, but I'm sure he'd have to agree at this point, there's work to be done. -
Colt McCoy, Mark Sanchez, and Rex Grossman

The fact that we've played the Jets and Titans, probably two of the best pass defenses in the NFL does speak volumes, however Joe needs to pass for 180 to 210 in those games to be considered doing what he's supposed to against tough competition. However a win is a win and I'm not complaining when the QB plays within himself and doesn't make poor throws to lose a game. (Romo) Just speaking my mind on where improvement can be made. -
Have all passed for more yards than Flacco. I love Joe Flacco and I don't want another QB for this Ravens team. However, Joe needs to find a way to step up his game a little. Positive: I really liked that Joe moved around a bunch and did find some open receivers in the 1st qtr. This is not what he's good at and it's clear that he's been trying to get better. Negative: It seems when Joe is scrambling, he's only looking for one receiver, Ray Rice. That's not entirely a bad thing, but when you see the good QBs buy time and improvise, that pass goes to the WR more often than the check down. The WR that can make plays in the open field. Boldin should be catching 70-90 balls this year. He's not on pace for that and that has to fall on Joe. I know Boldin is open. Joe you've simply got to step up just a little more against these good opponents. Just a little Joe. Unfortunately to improve that small amount, it probably means working much harder than most people would realize. However, if Joe wants to be top 5 likes he's told the world, I'm sure he knows that he's gonna have to put in some more work.

Absolutely, if you look at the stats, he doesn't compare to Reed in what matters, INTs!!!! Also, Reed scores with his INT's, something the hair doesn't do as well either. Reed changes games, the hair makes plays. He's much better than Reed rushing the passer and in the box, but we don't need a safety there, we want him getting his hands on the ball!

What do you want to see changed during the bye
yagersports replied to cravnravn's topic in Baltimore Ravens
Honestly, doesn't Joe and the offense always get better as the season progresses? He's money later in the year. Let's also not forget that there were at least 3-4 passes that were outright dropped. Honestly, just outright drops. We also didn't have a receiver make a play on the ball either. It would have been nice to see Smith catch the ball thrown behind him with a nice adjustment. The passing game is a two way street. The WR needs accurate throws as much as a QB needs a WR to make a play. And Joe.....throw to Boldin more! lol Honestly though, I remember Big Jen having games like this during his Super Bowl runs. -
2nd or 3rd best Ravens defense ever. My gut feeling without looking at statistics. This defense is takin it to em this year!
-
Well then, if he's fumbled twice in victories, we only have to worry about three more! lol Just kidding, I don't even know if he's fumbled twice. That is a concern because 5 fumbles is a bit high. We need to teach him the Tiki Barber hold.

I think Ricky will be ok, he's a vet. Sometimes $hit just happens lol. Does anyone know if he's had a fumbling problem in the past?

Ravens Insider Article: Paul Kruger mixes it up with Derrick Mason
yagersports replied to ExtremeRavens's topic in News Feeds
That's gotta burn a little. I think Mason really enjoyed his time as a Raven. Rex too. Oh well, you play the cards you're dealt. I thought Mason had a good response. It's nice to see Krueger play with a little chip! -
Also, if you look at the Titans, that game was not a fluke! They're for real. They've given up the least amount of points in the league. We're right behind them!
-
It would have been nice to see us run the hurry up when we realized we had a mismatch. One of the best ways to keep a Rex defense on it's heals is to run the the hurry up as soon as he substitutes into a defense that has too many big guys on the field. We never do that. Honestly it probably would have only led to 1 or 2 FGs, but at least it would have kept him guessing. I liked the way we ran the ball in the second half.
-
See, Jets have holes and lots of them! We didn't move the ball like crazy on offense, but we did get the running game going enough in the 2nd half. The Jets O is terrible and they will not make the playoffs this year. I'd gamble that they'll be back with a vengeance in 2012. The season isn't over by any means but they have one hell of an up hill battle.

Not at Grubbs' level no, but better than an 80% Grubbs, so let Grubbs sit. Toes need to heal fully for a player to be effective.
