  1. Along the lines of this, I hope that Ozzie doesn't spend like crazy going after free agents. We don't need em, we should do our best to be trading down in the draft and securing more picks in lower rounds as well as future picks. We have some aging talent let's ensure multiple first round picks in 2-3 years from now. I agree Max, this team has peaked, and I don't think it's the result of the players not being talented enough. I think the coordinators have let the players down. We definitely need a new D coordinator. There's not excuse for calling the same defense the entire second half and watching the other team stroll 90 yards twice. I'm not sure on the O coordinator. I wanna like him, but I'm just not sure he's committed to Flacco or this team. I feel like he's just looking for his next head job and getting frustrated by what's not happening here for him.
  2. From what I've read, Dickson and Pitta are piss poor at blocking. That was part of their draft profile as well. In both cases, both guys were said to have gone higher in the draft if they could have blocked.
  3. I don't think that the answer to our blocking situation is as simple as just get bigger road grading guys. Shannahan in Denver had a great running attack every year, it was like clockwork. The most distinguishing factor, everyone always pointed out that Denver routinely had one of the lightest OL in the NFL. I think that we need better technique or perhaps better athletes. Perhaps the answer is our coaching staff isn't familiar enough with blocking to get this unit to excel. Perhaps the staff assembled is more comfortable with big road grading types. I don't know, but I do believe the talent is there to block much better than they are. It seems that they just don't seem prepared. Anyone notice whether we have type of blocking schemes like crash left and crash right. It seems most of the time we're trying to Man up and block the guy in front of us. We don't get many cutback runs from Ray this year, and alot of the time those cutbacks are the result of every lineman blocking the guy to his left or right instead of straight ahead. I'm just curious if we employ much of that type of blocking scheme.
  4. How can we guarantee any victory? We just escaped beating Houston, a 5-8 team. What makes anyone so confident that we will stroll in and smack either Jville or KC around. I'm really just trying to be real here, Jville punked this Houston team, beat em good. I'm not saying that we can't beat em, but there's nothing that makes me confident that it's guaranteed we move on to the second round. The great thing about Crav however......he's never needed any kind of logic to believe in a guarantee. I do like that, maybe I should take some of that medicine.
  5. That would be far easier if the team wasn't waaaaaaaaaaay below expectations. The record is only about 2 games below expectations in my honest opinion. The big reason I think fans are having so much trouble getting "on board" with this team is the way we have been escaping games. With this talent we should put wounded teams out. Honestly, we needed a last second TD to beat a Steeler team led by Charlie Batch. Cmon. We needed OT to beat the woeful Bills. We got waxed by the horrible Bengals. As it turns out our statement win against the Jets wasn't so much of a statement. We gave the Steelers the game, in our house, with the Division and a first round bye on the line. I want to remain opitmistic and remember that the Giants didn't hit the playoffs on a roll and they beat maybe the best team ever to hit the field. It's just so tough because that Giants team played waaaaaay above expectations, while this Ravens team is waaaaaaay below expectations. That's the tough part to swallow and remain optimistic.
  6. I see Owens can add another team to his resume of divided locker rooms. Terrell: It's not me, it's them, it was them with the 49ers, Eagles, Cowboys, and now the Bengals. People just don't understand me! lol Well, honestly that's what Marvin gets for playing with fire over and over again. Still, we don't beat Cinci, Marvin Lewis' defense does mess with Flacco. 10-6. I have a terrible feeling we will miss the playoffs when the Jets finish 11-5 and San Diego and The Colts win out. RRRRR.
  7. Screw that Crav ;), I want Indy in the first round! I want to exercise some demons! Give us Pitt too, we're gonna make amends. And finally Brady, we want you too! I don't want the easy road, I wanna kick em all in the gut on the way!
  8. If we went into Shotgun in the second half, there could be a bad snap and that would be disasterous. Instead, we should just run ahead twice and throw an out. Then we can punt and that's how successful teams run their second half! lol I understand playing strategically and smart with leads, but cmon, lets not forget that you have to keep pressure applied to NFL teams, especially good ones!
  9. Honestly Boldin would be good for about 5-8 per catch where the CB plays off him. He's really tough to take down. Arizona did this all the time. Who cares if the other team knows it's coming sometimes if they still can't stop it.
  10. I wouldn't mind Joe putting the ball in Boldin's hands just a little more though. We desperately need to run a WR screen to Boldin, I do wonder why we do not. Is it because Boldin doesn't have the speed to beat defenders deep, is he always in bunmp and run coverage? I'm not sure.
  11. And tweek Cam's perfect offensive game plan? Make adjustments to other teams? HA! Not on his watch lol.
  12. Some no huddle a couple times a game would be nice to see. Actually that probably would have kick started the offense some in the second half, perhaps Houston would have been able to just blitz blitz and blitz. But Cam's gameplan is sooooo superior, adjustments never need to be made!
  13. lol, I didn't catch it either......I was like is this guy kidding me??? haha
  14. If we actually played to win, we would be dramatically better. This play not to lose the game crap is killing this team.
  15. No more from Texas lol! It's the Texas curse, this one will trip over his cat and break his hip! lol
  16. I can't deny that logic, that is a distinct possibility. I do think that Oher releases into (backwards) pass coverage far quicker than Gaither.
  17. All in all, I really thought Flacco played very well. If we bust off some runs, we aren't talking about Flacco at all. I'm not saying Flacco doesn't have work to do, but it seems pretty clear after last night that it's our run game and playcalling that is failing. Flacco seems to have made adjustments and Flacco made some very impressive passes last night. There was no slow release or decision on the TD pass. I can easily count 10-15 solid quick release passes Flacco made to his 2-3 that came up short.
  18. I kind of agree here, however I'd like to know more about what happened. I believe the last coach who ran all of his Pro Bowlers out of town ended up unemployed. I wonder how McDaniels feels about his moves now? He's probably too arrogant to admit he could have done things differently. It seems pretty clear that Oher doesn't equal Gaither. Gaither should be paid whether it's by us or another team.
  19. Gaither has mentioned that he would love to come back with the Ravens. We'll see how that rounds out when it comes time to get paid. We should pay the guy however, he's deadly in the running game.
  20. I do agree, we do need to get a healthy Gaither back and move Oher back to RT. However, do not disregard the horrible defensive playcalling in the second half, I'm not sure one single blitz was called all second half.
  21. As long as we continue to be afraid to take chances in the second half of games, good teams are going to tear us up. We have to continue to go after wins in the second half as we do in the first half of games.
  22. We didn't dial up one blitz in the second half. Houston meanwhile blitzed, blitzed, and blitzed again. No overload, no cb blitz, no safety blitz. Shaub will pick apart any defense that rushes only three and four repeatedly. That's not rocket science.
  23. We got so ridiculously lucky. Talk about an inept second half gameplan. No blitzes whatsoever, yet houston blitzed repeatedly. Pure vanilla offense with no real throws downfield. Lastly, our offensive line must have visted Spain this week and watched some Bull Fights. They looked like they weren't even there. I just don't understand why we gameplan so well in the first half and just look pathetic in the second half of every game this year. Our coaching staff just refuses to call plays that pressure the opposing team. We just sit back and hope we don't lose. It's pathetic. With the talent this team has the sky is the limit, however with the coaches we have I'm not holding out much hope.
  24. Ok, I do understand the criticism of Flacco , however aren't we overlooking some improvements? I think that perhaps some of us are just looking for a reason to say he's a failure. Saying that Flacco is slow mentally definitely flys in the face of hos #1 rating under pressure. Comon, let's be fair. I do think Flacco needs to find more receivers than check downs, fair enough. What about Flaccos major improvement on throwing over the middle and progress against the cover two. If he can improve on those wraknesses why should we doubt his ability to address decision making in the offseason. He def seems willing to put the work in. I think that we should realize that rome wasn't built in a day.
