Four weeks ago I thought we would win because Ben and Troy were out. Ben was there so we lost. I completely expected it. We did play like ass but the playoff loss where Billick didn't try to win was worse than this.

I don't think they got Ivy to be a primary DB. They got him to fill in at special teams. Cmac is done. If he was so good he would have been picked up months ago. This is not the Cmac from 2000. That guy is used up.

His numbers are staggering. That said with all those touches he will not be long for the league. He is doing what players in their 4th+ season. This kid is gonna be used really hard.

I enjoy the chess match of building a team. The game day outcome is icing on the cake. I was only pointing out that wishing did not seem to get the win you were looking for. Games are not won and lost with hope. They are won by getting the right peices and coaching them up to get the best out of them.

If you give money to only those who warant it then you are much better off. Suggs should not have gotten that deal. It will go down like Cmac's. We only got a couple of solid seasons out of that deal. The writing was on the wall before you gave him the money. He was a drunk and a head case but he had value. They should have traded him. This team needs to stop being in love with who they draft. Cut bait or when they have unsustainable value trade them.

And there we disagree. Grbac is a gain as long as you have a very good OL. We did not. Searcy was a walking injury and I screamed then about signing him. Flynn I have always thought was bad. Basically you had JO and Ed as the only stable parts to that OL. So yes Elvis was going to get the crap knocked out of him. I still say we would have won that last playoff game had Billick stowed his ego and played Cunningham when Grbac was falling apart.

I disagree. When you see how things work it is never the same again. I can't just watch a game to be entertained anymore. I see where things went wrong. I see the TE and since I always look at what they are paid and evaluate their production verses other guys and get on them about it. I just can't sit and enjoy football as pure entertainment. I see it in it's pieces like chess board. I watch what all of them do and what if you got player X instaed of player Y.

I do not think Ray will retire whenthe time is right. I think he will hold on until he is a shell. For one he still believes he is playing the best of his career which is self delusion. But I am sure it is a pride thing and he can't bring himself to admit to slowing down. Also on the other hand is Ray is looking for the cash. He didn't get the deal he thought he would get thos past off season. He isn't as set as he would have hoped this deal would have made him. He has wasted a lot of cash so now he needs money for the end of his life.

There is a difference to being resigned and hoping for the worst. I am dispassionate about the results. I come at teams from the FO end. I was a sports mang major in school. I look at it from the mang end of building to the goal. I do believe that seasons are won for the most part before the first kickoff of the yr.

I think in July I evaluated the team as 9-7 this yr and with that not making the playoffs. So I have watched this whole yr with the expectation of no Ravens games in January. I have watched the players to see who is worth of returning. There are a lot of these guys who are nobodies. Some dude in his 3rd yr that will never play. I cast a bunch of them off but they could return because they would be replaced with new guys who provide the same role. Mostly this was looking at guys like Kelly Gregg (he is my favorite Raven ever) who does not look good. Also Pryce, Heap and all the guys who are old and coing to the end. So if it is about 30% that I had gone it is more like 12-15% that I had any real opinion on.

Sry but they had an inexperienced kicker make the roster. They all have rocky starts to their careers. If anybody thought he wouldn't then they were deluding themselves. Clayton has all things being equal been marginal his whole career. You can't suck like that as a 1st round pick.

Yeah yo about have it. The WR corps is horrid. It is a major hole. The DB's are a hole that is a little more plugged now than a few weeks ago. We are stuck with Suggs. I think we will regret that deal in time. I hope I am wrong. I think Ray is going to turn the corner fast and will out stay his welcome. I do like the young LB's in McClain and Ellerbe. I would like to see if Gooden can be turned into a SS. I think he will be a much better player there. I see Kruger being turned into a LB. I would also add TE to your list. Heap is on his last legs, Smith is useless, and Drew may have ended his career before it started. Of course I can not prove we would have lost if Ben or Troy played. I just feel that they played so close that if either of them had been playing they would have accounted for at least 3 pts. That would have given the Squeelers the win. BTW nobody can prove that if Stover was on this roster we would have any better record than we do now.

Right now I am thinking we need 2 WR's a TE a DE and a C. Depending how things play out they should also need a CB. I would look at turing Gooden into a SS. He is not made to be a LB in the NFL. If Ed Reed retires we need to Draft a FS also. I hope they can get a lot of picks. We need them.
