Cameron is disappointing me, this offense needs some life. Get Ray Rice on the field coming out of the backfield for quick passes and get Troy Smith in there on some Wildcat. We need to mix this shit up bad.

This may seem like the year 2000 if you look at it like that, but its entirely different. That year, we switched to a veteran QB who managed the game well, this year we switched to an unknown rookie out of Delaware. That year, our 'unknown' rookie RB was a 1st Round pick who dominated the NCAA, this year its a converted FB. I really dont think those things are that similar haha.

They gave up 3 in Harris' start verse the Colts, but if I remember correctly from watching that game, the pressure came off the edge consistently from Mathis and Freeney. I dont know who actually GOT the sacks, but Mathis and Freeney were collapsing the pocket from the outside the whole game, and that's what caused the sacks, not anything from up the gut.

Theres no way Harvin falls to us in the 2nd or that Crabtree falls to us in the 1st. We will grab Harvin or Heyward-Bey with our 1st pick, the last pick in the 1st round.

I hadn't thought about the fact that Ray might retire if we win a super bowl, but you guys are correct that there is a good chance that will happen. Same goes with Rolle, Pryce and Mason I think.... I agree with the keep 2 LB strategy, and would want it to be Ray and Suggs, but if Suggs wants way too much money, I think Ray and Scott would be good to keep also. Keep in mind, McClain has been used mainly as a pass rusher, so he might be more of a Suggs replacement then a Scott replacement at heart.

I certainly hope it isn't. Kelly was the unsung hero on this defense for a few years and was just about to finally get the recognition he deserved when this injury hit him. Like you said, we have capable replacements, but Kelly would manage to lead all DT's in tackles every year, and he was vastly underrated.

It is the leaders on our defense, and thats why it's important that we spend the money to resign them, and let one of our younger guys (McClain or Barnes) step up and fill Scott's role.

How is cutting Chris McAlister idiotic? The guy used to be an All-Pro, but now he's washed up, injured and overpayed. It would be idiotic to keep him.
