  1. He has now cleared waivers (which I'm pretty sure mean no team put a claim on him) and is free to sign with any team, let's get it done.
  2. The Eagles just activated Vick and are apparently trying to trade Baskett to make room and will release him if they can't trade him. He's a big 6'4" target who is exactly what we are missing as a good red zone target. He's not really good enough to be an every down receiver for us, especially with how Clayton and Washington played, but let's go get him.
  3. Haushka kicked the ball well, there was a big wind on his miss and he literally missed it by inches, no worries there, like someone said what was more important was the great kickoff's. We scored a lot and it seemed like the Chiefs never were starting out past the 25, that's fantastic. I don't think there was a big drop problem, there were a few, but again, when you throw 45 times there are going to be a few drops, for the most part I was extremely impressed with the WR play. My take on the huge pass attempt number - Cam expected to go out and take a big lead early with the passing game (which we did), and then run the ball down their throats the whole 2nd half. If not for that blocked punt and the interception return, I'm sure the 4th Quarter would've consisted of McClain and McGahee going to town.
  4. I'm not worried about anything, the Chiefs couldn't make plays most of the day, but when they did they just managed to make it count. The yardage total in the first quarter was like 100 to -4. That blocked punt won't happen again, first week learning curve. Flacco's pick when we are driving gets taken back 70 yards to our 5, then a stupid penalty by Gooden gives them another 1st and goal, that was terribly unlucky. And let's not forget the perfect pass by Croyle on that 50 yard bomb. Croyle impressed me yesterday, he had a chance to prove he could play with Cassell out and he took advantage of it, I'm not gonna take anything away from him.

    Carr

He's here because he has proven he is a great return man in the past and also played a fantastic Nickel back for Tennessee, we shouldn't underestimate the importance of Corner Depth after last years debacle at that position....

    DHB

I think we will go WR in the first round, grab a Corner in the 2nd, and pickup a decent Nickel CB in FA, this of course if we keep Rolle. If we let Rolle go, we probably go after a starting Corner in FA, have him and Washington start, with the 2nd rounder, Ivy and Walker backing up. I'm fine with that secondary.
  7. Buccaneers just released a ton of quality vets, http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3933807 I could see him a good 2 year stop gap until McClain or Barnes can step up and handle the starting OLB job. That is, of course, if he is cheaper then Scott, which I expect him to be.
  8. I feel like we might go back to the 4-3 a few times next year with our added depth on the line. We now have Douglas, McKinney and don't forget Dwan Edwards(who was hurt) to contribute, and with all that depth I would be very suprised if we DO sign both Ray and Scott back.

    DHB

DHB is a much better physical presence and scarier one on one threat then Lelie or Williamson was. Both of them were very quick and fast, but tiny and easy to knock around, I dont see that with DHB. I will be happy with him or Nicks (who probably dropped a couple spots with his 4.5 40).
  10. Last year we gave Frank Walker a contract in the 1.5 Range to be our 4th corner and play special teams, if we can't offer Leonhard 2 Mil to play in Nickel and Dime, return some punts, and be a great ST player, then that is ridiculous.
  11. We haven't had very good luck with mid-round corners, but we have done very well with 1st Rounders (CMac, Starks even) so I'm hoping the trend continues.... On another note, I expect our DLine play to be amazing next year, with Dwan and Gregg back, the emergence of McKinney, Ngata and Bannan, and the resigning of Suggs, we wont have any worry about the Run, and should get decent pressure up the guy, and as a result I expect Dawan or Leonhard(whoever is at SS) to be playing out of the box a lot more then we are used to....This means we wont have near as much pressure on our CB's to play on an island as in years past.
  12. I would much rather let Brown get that huge money elsewhere, and sign either Saturday or Birk (who is either an FA already or I remember hearing he would get released because of his salary) as a 1/2 year stopgap while our line continues to grow.
  13. Rolle will hopefully be released. For $5 Mil in this market you can get a better corner then Rolle, but I expect Ozzie to release him, spend $3 Mil on a solid Vet CB, and draft one in the 1st or 2nd round. I would feel confident going into next year with a CB depth chart of Washington/Solid Vet/Early Draft Pick/Walker/Ivy.
  14. You might want to double check your info there man.

    Mocks

I found our big WR, Ramses Barden, 6'6" out of Cal Poly, smooth fluid athlete, great hands, and exactly what we need. Probably could grab him in the 2nd or 3rd round.

    Mocks

Larry English is the only OLB I would like to pick up in the first round.
  17. From what I've heard, if Favre returns, the Jet's are extremely low on cap room....
  18. This is comical, you want Oz to bring in starting level backups for both corner spots??? That's really smart, considering theres a salary cap and all... We should just waste all our money to have 4 starting level corners.... Second most idiotic thing I've ever heard, only to your comment that "CMac and Rolle were both likely to miss a ton of games this season." Yea, how in the fuck do you know that a player is gonna miss a ton of games? Neither looked like they would.
  19. You can't plan to have your #1 and #2 CB's out with injuries, any team that that happens to should be fucked, BUT because Oz DID plan so well, we had Fabian at #3 and Walker at #5 as solid options. This year, since it is obvious CMac is washed up and Rolle will never have a full season, we probably will grab another corner, but Ozzie planned last year and that's why we had Fabian and Walker, anyone saying we didn't plan for that is an idiot.
  20. CMac was our highest paid player last year with a cap number of $10 Million, I don't know what his cap number is this year, but if it's anywhere near that, I expect him to get cut.
  21. I also would have no problem giving up Suggs to acquire Boldin... We have great depth at LB, and a top WR is hard to find.
  22. According to Preston, I know my source is shady  , Gregg will be BETTER with a year off rest on his 350 pound body, I can see both sides, I guess we will just have to wait and see.
  23. Why wouldn't Kelly Gregg be back, he is under contract, and was one of our best defensive players until his injury.
  24. Good convo over there on that board, If we can get Leonhard for 2 Mil or under he better stay, he has great value as a ST player and as a DB, whether or not he is starting.
