Just read that Dallas wanted our first and third. I think that's too much but I still wonder if Cowboys would have settled for 2 4th's and if that would have been a good trade. Our third round pick was Kaufusi and of course we would have had no new LT but our secondary would have been solid.
-
Agree with that completely...use the 4th round picks to move up in other rounds. Question: should we have tried to trade two 4th round picks to Dallas instead of one in order to get Ramsey?

Read my post #240 under the 2016 Draft topic.

Now that I've had a good night's sleep, I have to say the draft wasn't as bad as I first thought. It was definitely lacking in pzaazz, but that's irrelevant. I like the Stanley pick and don't mind that we didn't want or get Tunsil. Oz says he offered his draft slot and a 4th rounder to the Cowboys to try and trade up in the first round but the Cowboys were paranoid about losing Elliot to us. Bad intel on their side. Now the second round really bothers me the most. I don't see why you don't go after Spence in that round but trade back instead. Sometimes you've got to take a chance. Spence cleaned up his act for a full year and performed very well. I think we should have given him a shot. I feel doubtful about Correa but, hell, I'm just a fan and hope the team feels he could start. Finally, I don't think it's a good idea to say you 'have to take' guys who are starters in round 4 because I think the only valid starter for the beginning of this season is Stanley. The rest...well I have no idea. And Max is right. You can't blame Oz for guys we didn't get because they were taken ahead of us. It takes two to make a deal and we apparently couldn't find any takers to move up. We'll see what happens during the pre-season and first few games of the regular season. If even half these picks are starters I'll be happy to eat my words from yesterday. But as of now I still have serious doubts.
-
That's an understatement.
-
Afraid so. Preston is right on this one. They're talking about having 5 fourth round picks as if they were first and second rounders. Just saw Oz trying to blow smoke up our ass with how we 'addressed every need on the team'. Ozzie how dumb do you think we are? Worse, how dumb do you think the rest of the NFL is?
-
Pretty certain the team will not have a comeback year with what they drafted. I think the whole front office has lost its touch. So we still need 2 more drafts to be competitive. Time for Oz to retire.
-
I think this is a good pick. He'll be a project to develop as WR but can start punt returns this season. I like this pick (first time I've thought that this whole draft) a lot because of the guy's toughness and versatility.
-
We do need a few guys that are tough and nasty. We'll just have to see how it all pans out.

CBS says this about Dixon: "Love this RB. He is a do-it-all back with good pass protection skills, good hands out of the backfield and TD machine with 26 his final season".
-
PFF had Dixon listed as the number 2 RB in the draft.

I give the whole freakin' Ravens draft a C- and I think I'm being generous. Also, seems like we drafted nearly all good character guys. Not a bad thing but we have hardly any tough guys on our team anymore. The AFC North is gonna be tough.
-
My feeling about the Ravens' draft so far can be summed up in 3 letters..... WTF?
-
I think I'd take a small chance on Spence. If he's on the right wavelength he's just what we need on defense with the exception of a CB. I have a feeling most if not all the second tier CB's will be gone when we pick in round 2. That would mean we need lots of pressure coming from the defense. Spence seems to have it. I like how he transformed himself at Eastern Kentucky. So what do you think of Spence in round 2?

Time to pic 'em - Ravens 6th pick. Who do you think we grab?

LT is one position locked up for a long time. Tunsil had more character issues than I thought. -
I feel 'meh' about the pick. Would have loved to get that edge pass rusher. But there's still day two and three to go.
-
No. At the time I wrote that I wasn't aware of the issue. So, if they really wanted a LT, Stanley was the better choice. The thing that surprises me was they didn't take Buckner. Is there any possibility we can trade Monroe for picks this year or next?
-
Gee, I was stunned. If they wanted a LT I'm surprised they didn't take Tunsil. But Stanley must have impressed them in ways Tunsil didn't. Not sexy but a needed guy for Joe.
-
The information on the draft this year is especially suspect. I have read numerous reports that the ND tackle excels at pass protection and needs to improve his run blocking.

If it came down to either Ramsey or Tunsil, I'd want to see Ramsey because he's a playmaker and we all know how bad we need those. Certainly wouldn't bother me if they took Tunsil. An anchor for the left side of the line like Yanda anchors the right. -

I know it's not exciting but Tunsil, if he's as good as they he is, could shore up LT for years and protect Joe. -

Tunsil falls to us as do Buckner or Bosa. If that's the scenario, I hope they pick Tunsil. Then they can go after Headcase Spence in the early 2nd or move up to late 1st. -
No! Not another Perriman year, please!
-
I think Ozzie will stand pat at 6 unless he gets an extra 2nd round pick, a third this year and a third next next year. I think I'd take that to move down to the 10-15 range. Definitely wouldn't go lower than trading with somebody who's 10-15. My preference is to hold at 6. Too many potential star players available.
