I doubt anybody will touch him if he's got a ten game suspension coming up.

Ravens have enough CAP space for Weddle and Wallace
oldno82 replied to TBird's topic in Baltimore Ravens
Well, Wallace should have said it differently than he did, but the Ravens love the vertical game and even if Wallace can only get open deep he'll contribute to the offense. I'm more worried about his drops than what said and as other posters here have said, Steve Smith had his share of dropped balls last year too and was still tremendous for our offense. -

Weddell "plays like a Raven": http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Eric-Weddles-Blood-Boiling-With-Chip-On-Shoulder/393a48ab-747f-4d69-b79d-8cf348b9477d -
Well that explains a lot.

Rumor Mill: Eagles to trade up with Ravens/Ozzie to trade up for Tunsil?

Very, very true. Even the Titans may blow smoke. -

Hell I agree! I'll be ecstatic to get one of those guys. Our defense would really be tough then. If we get Ramsey and we already have Weddle it's going to make passing against us a real crap shoot. If we add a pass rusher to Ramsey, somehow (maybe round 2) we'll have a 'set' defense. -

Good points, Max. I'm keeping my fingers crossed with Perriman. I assume he won't be ready for OTA's? You'd think the newspaper/TV sports guys would be all over this story with at least twice a month updates. -
Tell me this isn't going to result in a 4 game suspension (or even 2 games): From Zebreic and the Baltimore Sun "Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs was formally charged with two misdemeanors stemming from his one-car accident in Scottsdale, Ari. earlier this month. Suggs, 33, was charged with driving with a suspended license and failing to notify after striking a fixture, said Sgt. Benjamin Hoster of the Scottsdale Police Department. Suggs told police after the accident that he had fallen asleep before his BMW hit the median. The two charges could result in jail time, but they are often handled with fines. Suggs, the longest tenured Raven, is due in Scottsdale Municipal Court on April 1. A spokesman for Suggs said that his license was suspeded because of speeding tickets and he would fix the issue.

I like the Wallace move. He's a good plan B if Perriman can't go or fizzles. That killed us last year. If Perriman can go, then imagine the nightmare opposing teams have in accounting for them. Does anybody in the world know if Perriman is going to be ready for camp? To me, no news on this is bad news. -

Yup. Have been there several times but never saw the guy. Ribs and pork were solid except for last time we were. Haven't been back for a year or two. -

Bruce Laird! Now that's a name from the past. I think Andy Nelson is still in the area though. -
He's a very good player but was it wise to spend $$ on him rather than an LT or pass rusher? Well there's no question the guy can hit: http://www.baltimoreravens.com/videos/videos/Eric-Weddle-Game-Highlights/88e1231c-8771-4ba1-b3bf-1c00f5e6a513

Jimmy Smith and Yanda restructure deals

It says estimated cap space for all contracts is 5.7 million if I'm reading it right. -

FWIW, we're down around the bottom (in high 20's) in available cap space among the 32 NFL teams... -
Was hoping for one 3 round pick. Anyway,as we've all been saying, this draft has to be one of Ozzy's best.

More info. Just checked Sportrac's website and our cap actually goes down each year from 2016 onwards even with the restructuring. -
Thanks, Max...this kid Ford may have some potential.

Rumor Mill: Eagles to trade up with Ravens/Ozzie to trade up for Tunsil?
oldno82 replied to TBird's topic in Baltimore Ravens
I wonder if Oz would trade up to #1 if in return we give the Titans our first pick this year and next year's #3. I doubt the Titans would take that deal. I did read where Tennessee is desperate to trade down though. Or better yet, we exchange 1st round picks this year, give them Monroe and a 5th pick next year. Who knows, maybe the Titans are stupid. -
Is there a target date for Gilmore's return?

Jimmy Smith and Yanda restructure deals
oldno82 replied to papasmurfbell's topic in Baltimore Ravens
It's beginning to look like the Ravens are in the 'win now' mode. Cap space will be a problem after a year or two as these restructured contracts fallout hits us. I'm waiting to see what the results are this year after freeing up all this cap space and kicking the can down the road. Just who are they signing? -
They don't have the money for Okung. Beachum may be attainable. Here's a write-up on him from NFL.com: "Kelvin Beachum, offensive tackle It's not often a legitimate starting left tackle hits the open market at 26 years old. If it weren't for his ACL tear six games into the 2015 season, he'd be much higher on the offseason radar and might not even be hitting free agency. When he started all 16 games in 2014, Beachum was a top-10 left tackle in the NFL. Injury and the lack of consistency prior to 2014 could keep Beachum's price tag down. With so many teams in desperate need of offensive line help, Beachum should prove to be a steal at the right price. --Kevin Patra"

It's a good pickup at a low price.
-
Kelvin Beachem is another possibility. But the Ravens might be forced to look at round 2 or 3 for an OT to backup Monroe while the kid develops.

I'd really love to see some creative cap solution and us signing Okung. There are other LT options in free agency too.
