  1. Both moves give our defensive line a lot more depth. Glad to see it. Now, what about a WR and TE or are we shooting for both and a CB in the draft?
  2. Arthur Brown and Matt Elam are eating up $2.8 million in cap space.
  3. Actually, I'm much more concerned now about TE than WR. We're very thin there and don't have a proven one. That's important for the style of offense we run. The worst part is, TE is so shallow in the draft and in FA. But there's tons of WRs in the draft.
  4. [moved to draft discussion thread]
  5. Trestman has been quite clear that he intends to run Kubiak's offense and zone blocking schemes. I think we'll be just fine.
  6. I have no real way of knowing, but Funchess doesn't impress me as a guy Ozzie would take in the first round. To me, Funchess seems like more a 3rd or 4th round pick. Maybe even later,
  7. I'm a little worried too. It would be nice to have a starting-capable TE on the roster before the draft. It would allow Newsome to do his Best Player Available strategy. I liked Chandler but NE did too.
  8. I agree that they should. Not early though, more like mid-round. I'm thinking they should let Pierce and Gradkowski go too. Doing that would clear up about $2 million in cap money.
  9. Prior to 2014, Ngata had been going downhill. Now it might have been injuries but I think his ability is going to drop this year much like in 2013. I'd much rather have the cap space and 2 draft picks. Hell, I thought they'd have to release him.
  10. I'm not really sure bringing him back was a good idea. I would rather have seen some cap money spent on Chandler the Bill's big TE that they cut. RB's just have so many durability issues. I know he's a 'young' 30, but I still have doubts. I'm thinking going with the draft for a mid-round RB would have been a better option. 'Course, Oz usually knows what he's doing.
  11. Wow! That boggles my mind. Was Brees a FA back then?
  12. We have about 5 million to spend after rookies and free agents. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/baltimore-ravens/cap/2015/
  13. Funny...seems like we were saying the same thing last year about the offensive line, WR, and TE and last year worked out decent.
  14. I don't know how happy Joe is with Baltimore after all the hate he's found here. He might be willing to stand fast on his contract. As I said before, I hope not.
  15. Possibly, but I can't see we carry a $28 million cap number for anybody. I don't want to see him go. Hopefully, they get on the stick and Joe's willing to restructure. In any case, since we don't know, we'd better start looking for a body to back him up and learn the position.
  16. Very good move by Ozzie. So happy we got a 3rd and 4th!
  17. Next year, Joe has to re-do his contract or else he'll be 'Ngata-ed'.
  18. Rice & Ngata are killing us on the cap. One we can't control; the other we can. I think we're going to have to cut Ngata. I hate to see him go but we need some cap space. It does hurt to lose Torrey. We don't have a viable downfield solution anymore. Maybe they should have kept Jacoby for the lousy 700k they saved. He might have been able to turn it around on the receiving end and give us some semblance of a deep threat. You're right, Max. This time of year sucks for us.
  19. Cundiff was over 30 years old when we had him.
  20. That would be my prediction too. Tucker is a RFA. I want to see Will Hill come back also.
  21. Well if we can't free up substantial cap space, Daniels is an answer. Denver tagged Demaryius Thomas is what I heard.
  22. Some interesting FA TE's: http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Whos-Out-There-Free-Agent-Tight-Ends/fbe4eb9f-d394-4cdd-89cb-f07160a73b39
  23. If they can get him cheap, take him. Like Crav said, if we had had an average secondary last year we could have won a trophy.
