  1. If it's true it's sickening and they'd have to do something to make them think twice next time. Like losing a first round pick for 2 years plus a hefty fine. There appears to be a culture of cheating in NE that needs to be eradicated.
  2. Only if they met Oz's criteria of best player available. Good idea though. Might take $8 million a year to sign Cobb. One way or another they need to reduce Ngata's and Webb's cap hit for next year to free up money.
  3. Mike Shanahan is a good choice. I'd like to see him here. Shanahan would be staying here for a while too. Jim Zorn is available. Greg Knapp is a possibility. But Zorn is a former pro qb and that plus his previous work with Joe has to be a plus. He's also 62 so he'd be staying here for a while maybe for good.. He turned Matt Hasselback into a Pro Bowl qb. But, I'm not sure if Harbs dislikes Zorn for some reason. He did fire the guy after one season with Joe (who liked working with him).
  4. EDIT: Reply moved to another thread.
  5. Was Knapp the QB coach that turned Schaub upside down?
  6. This really sucks that all the best fits for us are going. All that's left with one exception is guys that have been rejected everywhere else like Gase. If I were king, I'd go after Mike Shanahan.
  7. Here's Eisenberg's take. Pretty much sums up how I look at it: http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Eisenberg-6-Thoughts-On-Gary-Kubiak-Decision/7817ca0d-a3a6-46b5-b384-f54d127282a8
  8. The last one I watched was several years ago and it was totally obvious that no one was really trying so I gave up on it.
  9. I think they'd be better served with Dennison or Shanahan. Somebody who knows how to run our offense. And I don't think he's coming here. Just had a thought: what about Juan Castillo if both Dennison and Shanahan are gone?
  10. Absolutely. It's been a farce for decades.
  11. Pretty crappy outcome. Why couldn't Pees have gone? Answer: nobody wants him and he ain't that good.
  12. The Pro Bowl isn't worth a bucket of warm piss. I'd rather we'd not have accepted and now if Kubiak leaves with Dennison and Pariani and with Spags gone, who the hell is left to coach them???
  13. The thing is, Max, is that Dennison and Kubiak are a team. He uses the guy as a sounding board and confidante and he's been with him for years. Dennison is to Kubes as Kubes is to Elway. There's a remote chance that Kubiak is interviewing just to be fair to the Broncos, but I think the reality is that there's too much history and friendship there both with the Broncos and Denver for him not to take it.
  14. Totally agree. Torey needed to step up and make a play. I think any way we could have gotten a TD was justified. It was a slightly off throw by Joe and a weak-ass, half-hearted attempt by Torrey to make a play. Not to bitch on Torrey so much because I like the kid as a high-character, give back to the city kind of guy who can get open deep at least once or twice a game. Trouble is, his only other route is a slant over the middle and I don't think he's tough enough to consistently do that enough and not get hurt.
  15. It's imperative that we somehow retain the same offensive scheme. Joe flourishes in it and even an average, one-cut running back can pile up a 1000 yards in his zone-stretch offense. If Kubes goes, and I think he does (20 years of Denver history. Imagine the friends he has there plus he loves the team), I'm almost sure he will take Dennison and Pariani with him. That leaves only Shanahan the way I see it. So if Kubes is leaving I hope he lets us know real early.
  16. Consider it over.
  17. I'm starting to think of similar OCs we might get. Any ideas?
  18. So what came out of the meeting between Harbs and Kubes today?
  19. I'd have to agree with you after watching that.
  20. I think they play 10 yards off because they can't cover. Pees' thinking is that its better to have a completed pass in front of you where you can wrap the receiver up when he catches rather than behind you for a big gainer. Of course, as has been said, you have to tackle immediately at the catch and our guys can't do that for whatever reason. Poor tackling, inability to cover, and no press coverage are the issues. Pretty much shows how crappy our DBs are.
  21. Good point. Yeah now I remember that part of the reason was the LB-DL talent issue.
  22. I'd like to see that too.
  23. I've had a bad feeling about this all day. I wonder how the Harbs/Kubes meet went.
  24. If Kubiak wants it, he's gone. If he interviews, he's gone. Damn I hope he stays! C'mon Biscuit, make him an offer he can't refuse!
