  1. Colin what worries me is if Steve Smith just can't go anymore. But WR is secondary to the RT, I agree.
  2. That's what I'm hoping: Oz will make a trade or a June pickup for RT. It's not impossible and it would do a lot to get the offensive line strengthened. Joe went down 48 times last year and that's too much. He's eventually going to get hurt at that rate. We could use more insurance as backup QB too. We missed out on a WR in a draft that had a lot of them. I'm just not sold that Steve Smith has enough gas left in the tank. I did like his free agent signings of Zuttah and Daniels. As Robjr83 said above it was a very polarizing draft. I'm all 'vented-out' now and hoping for the best.
  3. Seems to me you've got your opinion and I've got mine. And the 2 are not going to mesh. So that's all that's left to be said.
  4. I like what John Eisenberg wrote: "OK, so no grades from me. But I’ll take a stab at identifying winners and losers in this draft for the Ravens. One winner is Defensive Coordinator Dean Pees. Four of the Ravens’ top five picks will play on his unit, and in the past two years, the Ravens have drafted eight defensive players in the first four rounds. Another winner is tackle Rick Wagner. The Ravens were interested in adding a starting-caliber player at his spot, but they didn’t, so the job still belongs to Wagner, although it wouldn’t surprise me to see the Ravens bring in a veteran to compete with him. OK, so who lost with how the Ravens’ draft unfolded? I’d go with quarterback Joe Flacco. The Ravens didn’t come up with that starting right tackle to help protect him after he was sacked 48 times in 2013. They also didn’t add a receiver with a high pick in a year when elite pass catchers were all over the board, 12 going in the first 64 picks. Another loser would be Arthur Brown, the second-year linebacker. He was penciled in to start, but the Ravens drafted C.J. Mosley with the idea of him starting right away next to veteran Daryl Smith. That could relegate Brown to a part-time role, at least in the short run."
  5. When a team has definite, almost desperate needs, and they're not addressed on draft day, I can't feel any optimism at all about this team and where it's heading. If I am proved wrong, I'll be the first to admit it. But I don't think our FO has been living up to it's past reputation for drafting for quite some time now.
  6. Drafting for BPA is actually the easy way out. It would seem to me that a team has to reach a balance between BPA and actual needs. And we had plenty of needs that didn't get failed. All in all, a dismal and disappointing draft.
  7. Exactly the guys I was thinking of.
  8. Obviously, they wouldn't give a damn or 2 cents for what I think and I could care less what they think or don't think of my expectations. This draft sucked. I give it a solid F. Crav is right in what he's been saying.
  9. There were plenty of other far better QBs who we could have drafted before that round if we had drafted wisely in the 1-3 rounds.
  10. As to who wrote it, I'd guess someone from the front office of the Steelers who are laughing their asses off.
  11. Just a bad, bad 3 days. Not at all what I was looking for or expecting. A real bummer.
  12. I only wish we could. I could accept Mosley but I'd give the rest of the draft an F. I don't know where Oz's and DaCosta's brains were unless they were up their ass. There were RTs we could have taken. WRs. Just a stupid, stupid draft. No holes filled so what good is it? All f----ed up!
  13. Exactly. That's a better comparison than McKinnie. Then there's this guy who Pops likes and sounds decent and maybe better:http://www.nfl.com/draft/2014/profiles/jack-mewhort?id=2543744 Or this guy if he can stay at RT: http://www.nfl.com/draft/2014/profiles/joel-bitonio?id=2543737 I'd like to have Cyrus K. but we'd probably have to trade up to get him.
  14. The mocks that are out show Cyrus K. and even Moses gone by our pick tonight. I don't know what they're going to do with RT. There are FS available and WRs and RBs. RT looks like the big problem that will haunt us next season. Whoops! Moses might still be available---if we want him. He is supposed to have some work ethic and intensity questions. I wouldn't want another McKinnie. But he may be all that's left.
  15. I still don't think Mosley was the right pick. BPA is a nice theory but you gotta take into account team needs. It wouldn't have been a stretch to take Dix. Trading back is an unknown because we don't know what we were offered. I'm still pissed at Dallas taking Martin.
  16. I could live with that scenario. How about Joel Bitonio for RT?
  17. Can't agree this time, Pops.
  18. But they didn't. Instead it was Oz's alma mater...again.
  19. It would take a minor miracle to wind up with starters there. Another Alabama kid for Oz...Mosley.
  20. So who the fuck is going to start at RT and FS?
