You know guys, in my mind this really starts the new season. Mini-camps and training camp are getting closer and closer. Finally! It seems like this off-season has lasted wayyy too long!

I'm asking 'NFL Santa' for a RT that can start.

OK, guys. The draft is just 4,5,6 days away and it's driving me f---ing crazy with waiting. Time to take a wild ass guess as to who we pick if we're at 17. No trade ups/backs. I'll say Zack Martin. Why? Because I have a feeling he'll be there and we can plug him right in.

I haven't been an advocate of trading down in this year's draft because I was thinking we could get a stud player ready to play now with the 17th choice. But now I'm hearing the top 4 tackles will be gone, Clinton-Dix will be gone, Evans and Watkins will be gone. If it really plays out like that I could see us moving back in the first round. I hope it doesn't happen that way. Lately Oz hasn't been doing well after falling back. I don't think Pryor is the safety we need. Ward is. But hell yeah, Max. I'm counting down the days! I just want to have a first round pick who's a starter no matter where we draft in that round.

Sure is a sorry trail of attempts by this organization to find a starting qb. It took a long time and lots of disappointments before we got to Joe. On the other hand, some organizations never get it right. I wonder what the Browns are going to do in the first round this year.

That's true, Crav, but even doing BPA there should be a guy we need who is a BPA or close to it at 17.

Too many good players around in the first 17 picks to trade back. I want to see a RT either Lewan or Zack Martin as the first pick. If they do anything I want them to do whatever they have to do to get Jimmie Ward in the second, even if it means moving up. The last few years we haven't done so well getting picks to play right away as regulars because we've been drafting so far down. I will say I trust Oz and de Costa a lot more than Preston.

Didn't hear a word about that at the time. We just would have been exchanging one looney for another.

To me, those picks would be solid choices. And, yeah, I'd move up in the 2nd to get Ward if we have to.

I don't really know the guy. That's why I was asking. Like you I thought he might fit in as a temporary RT for a year or two giving Ozzie more latitude in the first round of the draft. But, maybe Oz is going to definitely go with a young drafted T. I'd be tempted to take one of the top OT's over Clinton-Dix. It will definitely be an interesting first round. The Ravens will likely have a lot of options.

Any opinions on this guy? We need a RT but should we see how round 1 plays out? Think we can grab or will grab a T with the first pick? What if Clinton-Dix is available at 17? Thoughts?

The more I think about this, the more I think it stinks. We're trying to install a new offense, get the new OC acclimated, get the O-line guys practicing and learning together, and trying to keep everybody healthy. I don't look at it as a good time to put on a 'family football show' just to satisfy the Harbaugh's.
