  1. I was bothered by the Offensive line play. Lamar was under duress for most of the first half when all the regulars were still in the game. The line actually did a bit better with the backups for Stanley and Linderbaum. Don't understand why that should be. Yes the receivers are now top notch and will be even better when Andrews gets in there. But Cincy is going to be both pissed from losing and sky-high for their home opener. I don't expect us to win, just to see some progress on correcting the first game deficiencies would be welcome. It's going to be a tough year and a dog-fight in the AFC North all season!
  2. Well, let’s just say I’m not looking forward to the next game. I’ve never seen a team year after year have so many injuries.
  3. Just saw where Dobbins is out for the season with an Achilles tear. Sad.
  4. I agree with all of that.
  5. Well the game was fair. There is a lot of work to be done on the offense both passing and rushing left a lot to be desired but there were some fine moments by OBJ and Flowers. The O line needs to pass protect better and open some holes for the backs. Lamar looked very rusty. Defense played well but pass coverage is an issue. Pass rush was there but kind of petered out in third quarter.
  6. Our lack of competent corners is leaving the middle open too much.
  7. No doubt this offense has a lot of rust but as the game has progressed they have looked better.
  8. Agree. Likely may get his shot.
  9. I'm excited to see the Monken offense for sure. My optimism is tempered by how good or not good the defense is until Humphrey comes back and also the weather. I know thunderstorms can cause a delay in play or even a rescheduling if lightening is a factor. It would be great to see if the Ravens can mount any kind of pressure from Ojabo or Oweh.
  10. I know well what you mean. My back couldn't handle the walk from the parking lot to the stadium.
  11. Drafting and development is important especially in the mid-rounds where we haven't been clicking too well of late.
  12. While my days of going to games has been over for a few years I am still a fan and will watch every game intensely this year and record them as well.
  13. QB salaries seem to have no upper limit, cap or no cap. This rate of increase can't go on forever.
  14. Hmmm...both Andrews(quad) and OBJ(ankle) limited in Thursday practice.
  15. Yeah, Max, we miss your analyses! Hope you and yours are OK and you get to drop by here soon.
  16. Can't really predict a score in this one. Let's just say we should win going away against a rookie qb and coach in their first start. What I'm really looking forward to the most is what the revamped offense will look like and how the defense can compensate for injuries in the secondary and lack of a proven pass rush. Anyway, I'll be glad to watching a real football game for a change. It's been a long time coming.
  17. Well, if Huntley is healthy, it would make sense to cut Brown loose and fill that spot with a CB. He must be healthy enough to at the very least fill in if both Lamar and Huntley went down---an unlikely occurrence.
  18. The need at CB is much higher. Or should I say, desperate? Harbs says Andrews will return to practice Wednesday.
  19. Just read where he is going to start the season on the four-week Non-football Injury list.
  20. That's a good question. Last I read he wasn't progressing as fast as hoped.
  21. Yay! Johnson made the 53 after all! I mean he's not great but I think he's better than Brown or Huntley with a hamstring injury. Urban is also back on the 53, not that I expected any different...we played that game with him last year too.
  22. Just saw where they added Melvin Gordon and Daryl Worley to the PS. I'm sorry they put Brown on the PS rather than Josh Johnson who is still available. I'm not sure Tyler will be ready to go in 2 weeks what with his hamstring issue.
  23. Mustipher might be back on the 53 sometime too if he isn't taken by another team.
  24. Well, I guess Kyu Kelly is a lost draft pick. Too bad he didn't pan out. We need all the healthy corners we can find at this point.
  25. Hard to predict the final standings for AFC North. Too many really good or potentially really good teams. I'm just hoping for an exciting, entertaining season with a lack of injuries and with us making the playoffs and the offense looking potent and the defense remaining competent.
