  1. Yeah...keep Watkins on the bench. We'll need him more down the stretch. Who knows who wins in this damned weak-to-weak conference???
  2. Cleveland returned to practice today and Nick Boyle is game ready according to the Ravens' website. The day is coming, hopefully soon, when Latavius Murray and Sammy Watkins return too though I don't expect that to happen on this short week for sure. Considering all the first line talent that has been lost to injury, it's hard to believe we're 6-2. And by the way, Max, you are right...Harbs and company took a gigantic risk in drafting Lamar and then centering the offense all around him. He leads and wins. What more can you ask for after the risk they took and the injuries we've sustained?
  3. Another win...another Tucker FG with time expiring, this time in OT. I felt we should have played better early but can't fault the outcome. Go Ravens!!
  4. Lamar is taking too many punches---hard ones too. We need to somehow protect him better and revive the running attack with the running backs. He won't be able to do it all without getting hurt. He's been carrying the whole offense on his back.
  5. No doesn't sound good for sure but lets wait and see who's practicing Thursday.
  6. Geez...I hate so much to see the old guys go. A lot of them stayed here after their careers were over and you don't see much of that anymore.
  7. He definitely looked uncomfortable playing left tackle the other night.
  8. I take Harbs comments with a grain of salt because I think he's just trying to confuse the Vikings as to what to expect. We won't know more until they release the weekly injury report.
  9. Yep...just like Harbs said. It's a weak-to-weak league!
  10. Agree, Max. and it kind of starts tomorrow with the Steeler-Browns game at 1pm. Anytime 2 rivals go at each other it'll be to our advantage. I'll be watching that game!
  11. It ain't over until it's over but you gotta feel that the season died with all the injuries before it ever got really started. I think we win the next three but I don't see us running the table for sure. We'll be lucky to make the playoffs where we will be one and done. JK Dobbins, Gus, Stanley, Marcus, et. al., would have made a huge difference this season. All we can really do at this point is hope they come back next year without their talents being diminished due to the injuries they had. I've been comforting myself by remembering Jamal Lewis tore his ACL early in his career and came all the way back. Meanwhile I look to our passing offense as the one bright spot. Brown, Bateman, and Watkins & Andrews are a pretty formidable group and if Lamar continues to progress as a passer like he has been we should have a dynamite year next year.
  12. The defense put a lot heat on early on just about every play but couldn;t sack Burrows. This resulted in them being tired out by the 3rd quarter. Besides the fact Humphrey had a bad day.
  13. And they really need to keep Lamar healthy.
  14. Yep, it's ridiculous to have to try and overcome all that. We'll be good enough to beat most mediocre teams but I don't see how they can compete with the Browns and Bengals until next season.
  15. Absolutely right! But that won’t happen until next season unfortunately.
  16. Ed Reed wants Lamar to take fewer hits and I agree: https://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/late-for-work-10-27-ed-reed-wants-lamar-jackson-to-take-fewer-hits.
  17. Pressure was there in first half but Cincy picked it up in second. Burrow is special and so is Chase but we made other Bengals look better than they are. Tackling reverted too atrocious today as it has been for most of season. I guess overall we just weren't fired up enough for today's game.
  18. There has been a perennial complaint about Lamar through his years here about his limitations as a passer. I've made a few of them myself. But this year #8 looks like the passer we all have always wanted and even Mike Preston has noticed it too. Here's an interesting article on the Ravens' passing game specialists and what they've done for our receivers and the offense as a whole: https://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/analysis/preston/bs-sp-ravens-preston-tee-martin-keith-williams-impact-20211023-3c64srbogjhqjp5ktueualmipq-story.html. From the article comes this observation: " Jackson has completed 67.5% of his passes for 1,686 yards, nine touchdowns and five interceptions this season, and is averaging a career-high 8.7 yards per attempt. He looks so much more comfortable in the pocket compared with previous years, when he would take off running instead of being patient. Back then, the Ravens would only attack one quarter or half of the field. They were content playing it safe and being conservative. But that’s not true anymore with Williams and Martin on staff. Jackson has been throwing consistently outside the numbers, from short hitches to long fly routes on the far side of the field."
  19. And they're completely healthy with their first stringers where we have 17 on I.R. Tough game for sure.
  20. We will win but it won't be easy or pretty. The Bengals D scares me more than Burrows at this point.
  21. I'm buying because I agree he doesn't need as much high priced talent around him. He also raises the performance of even average players around him. Just look at this year's backfield and O-line injuries.
  22. The Bengals are good and not a pipe dream. But I think we pull out a close one.
  23. Here's one for you: Time to back up the truck and pay Lamar. Buying or selling?
  24. I'm Buying. By the way, every year we've had Josh Bynes he's played well. I don't understand why they just don't leave him there.
  25. Well that's a downer but not completely unexpected. Even if it heals completely i wonder if he'll ever regain his form. Better draft a LT next year.
