  1. How can you not like this guy: Super hands and talented route runner... Riley Ridley, Georgia. Ridley might be the best route runner in this class, and add another plus to his resume: He has 10-inch hands. Like the other wideouts in this class, showing well in the drills will only improve his draft stock. If Harmon and Metcalf are gone by 22, this guy is worth considering.
  2. He's history now... https://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/
  3. McGovern sounds like what we're looking for if he shows his power at the combine. Ford is a blue-chip prospect; wouldn't feel sorry if we got him in the first. Wish we had a 2nd rounder to use on a WR. There's a lot of good ones out there this year but I think the best ones will be gone after middle second round.
  4. Agree on all that.
  5. Too many drops killed him. I think his time has passed. Hopefully this will end trying to get WR's on the downhill side of their careers.
  6. I meant that the size of Flacco's contract restrained them not his play for the most part. When he had weapons Flacco was successful (Mason, Rice, Boldin, Heap, etc.
  7. Yeah I have to agree on what you said. Especially about Ford. Draft him for a guard position as were are temporarily OK at OT and we desperately need a LG to start now and another guard to be ready for when Yanda calls it quits.
  8. I don't think Trent got a fair shake. They could have at least given the pre-season to see how bad or good he was. If I remember right, we were having a big quarterback drought anyway.
  9. Would love to get a second round pick for him if they trade him.
  10. Yeah but they also had the Flacco contract restraining what they could do. I do like the energy DaCosta is bringing to the FO.
  11. Should we cut/trade Smith? He's awfully good when he's healthy. Unfortunately his cap number is high.
  12. I read where he is now the highest paid slot corner in the league. If he can control the slot, that would solve a problem we've had for years.
  13. Well whatever happens to Lamar you can't say he doesn't have a very high work ethic. I think he will succeed. He probably won't hit his full potential until the 2020 season but he'll do well enough in 2019 to keep the ball rolling. I still worry over him and injuries because he runs so much.
  14. Yeah I know Roman has been very big on Lamar and I see some of the same things...natural leader especially. I like what he says in your signature quote too.
  15. I like Lamar and am certainly hoping he works out. He's a good leader and elevates the play of those around him. He is unproven as a passer in the NFL and he scored 3 from the bottom in PFF's passer rating. So he has to improve. None of what has been said here by any of the posters is in anyway racist or prejudiced and it's insulting to be told that's what the people are here. Get your facts and act together.
  16. I find myself agreeing with all of you guys. Lamar has to learn how to pass and read defenses. My worry is that the first can't be taught any better and the second is impossible to execute if you can't learn to pass. I worry that Lamar had to learn how to pass in college and didn't so maybe he can't be taught. And football is a great game of adaptation. A good defense will adjust to kill you if you are one dimensional. The playerS and coaches have to make the appropriate adjustments on offense. This is a never ending cycle---unless you're unsuccessful. We could definitely use another young quarterback with good potential. No doubt about it. Unfortunately we're in no position to get one. RGIII is the best backup option but he ain't going to be the quarterback of the future if Lamar winds up with an abruptly shortened career. This almost like a game of craps only you have to get a 7 on the first throw.
  17. Well remember that Foles was going to be available too so maybe Eric felt he had to strike when the iron was hot.
  18. Here's what Ian Rappaport had to say: https://www.baltimoreravens.com/video/ian-rapoport-reveals-what-ravens-are-getting-in-exchange-for-joe-flacco-old
  19. I read this with great satisfaction. F**k LeVeon Bell! https://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/eisenberg-why-i-m-rooting-for-a-boring-offseason
  20. I like what read about him too. His 'cons' seem to me to be fairly easy to correct. I'll keep my eyes on this guy. Good find, Papa.
  21. Yep, WR is the flavor of the week. Seems like we'd have a choice between many A-list ones. The OT/OG pick is interesting too. Would be great to come up with a starter ready guard. RB at number 1 is too soon if needed at all.
  22. Here's some more music: https://www.baltimoreravens.com/video/new-coach-david-culley-shares-vision-for-ravens-passing-game-old I like when he emphasizes that first and foremost as a receiver 'you have got to catch the ball'. In fact, I liked everything Culley had to say.
  23. Improving the O-line like DeCosta says, should be the number one priority this off-season through the draft and free agency. It does appear that a very highly rated WR may drop to pick 22 in the draft. If that happens and the guy has no red flags it will be difficult not to take him. I'm not sure what they should do if that happens. We don't have a second round pick so first round is even more valuable to us than usual. But it would seem to me that we ought to be able to go after Paradis in free agency for Center. We need at least one guard, possibly two. Through some magical combination DeCosta has to fill C, OG, and WR this year. We have the cap room to do it, I think. Any chance we pick up a compensatory 3rd round pick this year? Ryan Jensen signed a fat contract so maybe we get one there?
