  1. I was thinking mainly about Camp's toe and Young's ACL. I believe the guy was brought in specifically to deal with the number of injuries the Ravens have incurred over the last few years. It wasn't meant as a joke. As I said later, I hope Dennis is OK for regular life...things like walking and running with your kids.
  2. Afraid so. Hope he's ok for regular life.
  3. Gee, really bad news! I'm sure glad our new strengthening coach is on the job.
  4. I read this optimistic article on the Ravens. It's possible receivers might shape up. However, the confidence in the OL is a stretch for me. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Late-For-Work-530-Reasons-Ravens-Are-Betting-on-Offensive-Potential/29eb9afe-92fe-492f-bbd1-aeb5b79e7570
  5. If he can stay healthy I think he'll do well this season and justify his #1 pick.
  6. Hurst is only a body to fill in that position. He hasn't shown anything beyond the 2012 playoff run. I don't think he'd be hard to replace. Even an average tackle would be better.
  7. There's only one guy on that list that can be truly called a playmaker and that's Wallace. If the rest want to become free agents let them and replace them.
  8. Campy has the talent and has played well when he hasn't been injured, but you sure can't count on him not having an injury. He's prone. I don't think the offense gets straightened out until after free agency and the draft next year. And even then it'll take some time to gel.
  9. I really doubt that Joe's body will make it through the year if that's the O-line we have.
  10. While it's still possible for Ozzie to sign a FA WR and C and RT, I'm beginning to think we all are just going to have to ride out the upcoming season until we can get to next year's draft and free agency. This might be frustrating to all of us but we'll just have to be content in watching the development of our defense which should be able to keep us in most games. We'll have to settle for a dysfunctional offense again but if we can give it a boost in 2018 we would have a playoff caliber team in 2018. In other words, look for at best a mediocre amount of achievement from this year's team.
  11. Max, I think the biggest problem on offense is the center and right tackle positions. Hurst is a below average RT and there's no legitimate center even on the team I still think they should pick up Mangold to play C. I don't know what anybody can do now about the RT.
  12. Yep, the defense is looking good both short term and long term. I don't think we'll have to worry about it for several years. But the offense...who's going to protect Flacco? Who's the 'go to' receiver? Is Terrance West really an answer at running back? That's what has me concerned. Right now I'm thinking 8-8 subject to change depending on what Ozzie does for the offense in the weeks ahead.
  13. I don't think the Ravens intentionally set out to strengthen the defense with all the early picks. Instead I think it was just Ozzie being Ozzie by taking best player available. This was a pretty weak draft for offensive playmakers but there were many defensive ones.

    Round 1

No and that's really disappointing. I guess Flacco is showing he's not a team player. He has the highest cap hit in the league.
  15. I think what bothers me the most is that they just haven't been entertaining to watch on either offense or defense. Hopefully, the defense has enough talent now to keep in us in every game. The offense has been a frustration to me since the post-Vinny days. And it looks like the upcoming season will be more of the same. You're right we can't fix all the holes in one year or one draft. I'm still a fan. Maybe the team becomes great when the offense gets the draft and free agency attention next year.
  16. Does this mean James Hurst is our starting RT?
  17. OK...I buy that but there seems to be no alternative than Mangold for center. Hopefully Siragusa lives up to his strengths.
  18. With no competent Center or RT on the roster, I have to agree. Signing Mangold now becomes a priority. I have no idea who or what may still be left in free agency or the draft for RT.

    Round 2

Sounds like we've drafted 2 projects so far and no starters.

    Round 1

Well, I think the issue is, is he a plug and play guy? Can he help us right away? I have serious doubts.

    Round 1

CBS Sports has him as the 5th rated CB in the draft. Is that the best they can do? Sheesh! They should have taken an OL. Maybe they'll get a good one in the second round, but...

    Round 1

Humphrey...meh...unimpressed. Sounds more like a project than an immediate starter.

    Round 1

. I think he'll go higher. Really does sound like the next Anquan Boldin.

    Round 1

There's a lot of holes. I've changed my mind on who we should take and now think we'd better take an OL in the first round and one of the two best centers in the second or third rounds. There's a need to protect Flacco and give him more time to throw plus we need a running game. If we are able to draft the best OT and best C our line would be set for quite a while. Yep we still need a playmaking WR, an ILB, more CB depth. Depending on where we draft the Center, this guy might still be available in round 2-3: https://www.google.com/search?q=juju+smith&oq=ju+ju+s&aqs=chrome.1.69i57j0l5.8600j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 Does anybody know this guy? All I know is what I'm reading on the web. Has anybody seen this guy play?
  25. oldno82

    Who?

I want to see them draft help for the offense somehow. Either an OL or a WR if good ones are available. I'd like a WR who's a playmaker.
