On my way home from work it hit me. Back to Back AFC North Championships!!! It can happen tomorrow night. And if the players posture that I read this week is correct....and I know they are focused on a larger goal...but this is one huge step toward that....Then they are chomping on the bit to do it tomorrow night in PrimeTime, at The Bank, before their fans. One of Lamar's assets is reading defenses and the field. He's fantastically quick at that. I've heard him on the radio, at the podium, rattle off what look the defense gave him when asked about a specific play. He knows his shit and will only get better with experience. I said it once and I'll say it again: On some of his passes he looked like Johhny U. Same set, stance, posture and release. He will perfect that. When injuries catch up to him, I can see him morphing into a great pocket passer. Shit...he's great now. But he will need the receivers to be great as far as the yardage. He has TE's right now. No true #1 or #2 wide outs....and he's leading every QB in the NFL. All of them. Barely over 16 games of experience. That's shocking. The Ghost of Louisville... I put this thread up because one of the things Lamar and this offense needs is WR's who can get open. Eric will get them. Lamar will master wet footballs and wind. He's human like the rest of us. He has his strengths and weaknesses, yet he's incredibly gifted, intelligent, humble, a leader, a catalizer....and only 22 years old.

I heard Lamar was practicing today and showed no ill effects. Stanley probably won't be available to play because there's not enough time to clear the concussion protocol. James Hurst will fill in. Andrews was moving around in limited practice. We might see him Sunday. If your healthy, then you play. Everybody is dinged up this time of year. There is too much is at stake. Winning the North, getting the 1st seed. These are important steps to clearing the easiest path to the SB. The Ravens have a very real chance to accomplish that. Nobody sits out right now and they would probably kick and scream if they weren't allowed to play in order "to rest up." This is what they live for and dreamed about...Championships. Your quad hurts. She awaits......what would you do?

Upon leaving the stadium, I expect Lamer to have passed Vick's record and for the Ravens to be AFC North Champs. It's highly possible that I will be celebrating and doing high 5's and fist bumps with hundreds of total strangers. I will undergo a personality change from my reserved and dignified demeanor... to this... For a brief spell. I also expect to be very cold and hurrying to a nice warm car. The Bills had a lot at stake and they went all out. Their defense is very good. They had a 9 man box. This is good for the Ravens going forward if other teams want to do that because they don’t have the personnel the Bills have. They will see Lamar burn them with the pass just like we saw with “The Ghost of Hayden Hurst” galloping down the field. Still......the Ravens hung 24 on them and won. I wouldn’t bitch about 24 points. We’ve simply started to get used to 30+ points. We’ve developed high expectations but this is the NFL. Parity. Lot’s of prideful players and teams. To dominate them all, week in and week out is a pipe dream. What’s nice is the Ravens have played and defeated the NFL’s best. The basically slaughtered “Murderers Row.” I doubt if we’ll ever see something like that again. What’s also nice is seeing the 49’ers put up 48 points yesterday. The Ravens held them to 17.

It was a wild weekend....

Marques Brown.... 3 catches .... -2 yards. The Ravens are definitely not using him properly. Maybe all Wink knows is the run game. Boykin was on the field. 0 catches. Maybe give Jaleel Scott an chance??? J Hill. 3 carries 8 yards. The Ravens better hope Ingram and Edwards stay healthy.

Yea,,,the red hot Jets. I read your post and went straight to the weather for Thursday night...around freezing. I don't care. I can dress for that.

The first half was horrid. For the game the Ravens ran for 118 yards on 33 carries for 3.6 ypc. That worries me. Even though Lamar threw 3 TD's, 145 total passing yards will not get it done in the playoffs. 157 yards last week. That worries me.

Give the Bills D credit. They played their ass's off They did not let the Ravens offense get rolling. 9 penalties for 99 yards kept the Bills in this game. Ugly win. Sloppy execution. And yet....the Ravens clinch a playoff spot. I saw plenty to worry me about this team.

Still feeling a Ravens win today, yet the fact that a Ravens win will guarantee them a playoff spot has me feeling anxious.

Yup! It's going to be windy.... I say go conservative....if you dare call it conservative. The Ravens should simply unleash their historical rushing attack on the Bills 14th ranked run defense. That is inappropriate. What is appropriate is Lamars incredible ball handling skills. Hundreds of thousands of hand offs and fakes. Lamar has so much practice and experience that he's developed this skill into an art form. He's a magician, a wizard. He does make the ball and exchange "invisible". He uses his speed, body angles, low crouch and great touch to fool everybody. I have never seen anybody better at it. And it takes 2 players, working in tandem to pull it of. That takes practice and work.
