Same here. That's a quick way out of the playoffs.

Agree. I want Jones and I think he'll be back after he determines his value on the market.
-
Generally the Ravens sign their own and let the over priced guys go elsewhere. Then once the market has quieted down Ozzie, goes hunting and signs a couple FA's. He gets a few pieces to set up his draft. Then a few weeks before the season starts he brings in some depth.
-
My guess is Ozzie waits a few days and let's the over priced players land elsewhere. then he'll get the bargans. He always does. They need Daryl Smith.

So true....it could have been real ugly...

Thanks for all the quotes Money....it definitively is what I want to hear. It restores my faith in the Front Office about them having a plan and being aggressive....and smart.

He was great and electrifying in his day but I'm not excited about him at all at this stage of his career.

Rolando McClain reportedly planning NFL comeback
vmax replied to ravinmaniac52's topic in Baltimore Ravens
Invite him to camp and make him earn it. An NFL roster spot is too valuable to waste on a guy with head problems. -
The Orioles are going to be really good this year.
vmax replied to vmax's topic in Baltimore Orioles / MLB
In 2012 everything went their way and they kicked ass in the close games. Last year it was the opposite, so everything's even karma wise, the universe is in balance once again and the baseball gods have declared it's Baltimore's Time To Shine. Buck's figured it out. -

It's nice to know that he's in a better place mentally. I am too!!! -
I think the Jamal Lewis's incident happened while he was in college. Anyway...this made ESPN headlines "Reid is the third Ravens player to be arrested in 22 days" http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/10578178/jah-reid-baltimore-ravens-arrested-battery-charges When you start hitting 3 players then you have the beginning of an epidemic. I think winning the Super Bowl went to a lot of players heads and they spent more focus on "the glory and the fame" than on what they had to do to get better. I think many felt that they didn't have to do much more than show up last year....and that was evident in the teams overall performance.

You need brains on defense. He's the only brain. Lose him and who leads and sets the D?
-
That's what bothers me. The Ravens may not have had good offenses in the past but they were never bullied and they frequently wore out defenses by the 4th quarter. They were bullied and pushed around the whole season last year. They "finessed" themselves right to the bottom. I want maulers.
-
Nasty hitting lineup...great defense and the pitching is looking better every day. The team chemistry is there and these guys believe in themselves. We have a great season coming up.

A damn good LT costs damn good money. Damn good means that you do not have to worry about your QB getting wasted from that side of the line and that you can run to that side with authority. The players who can do that cost serious money. This is one spot where you can't go cheap. If they spend the money, than whatever player they get, better be the solution for the next 4-5 years. And...we're spoiled after watching Ogden all those years. The Big "If" is Osemele. "If" he comes back 100%, then the Ravens are set at the guard position. Really solid. Now...build on that. Forget about moving Osemele to RT or LT. Get 2 guys who are maulers at those positions...then you have 4 maulers. Find a center.

Talking about the cap going up in the next few years....do you think Ozzie and Cass saw this coming and weren't too worried about Joe's cap hit having a big negative on the team down the road? It does look better now.
-
I found the Steelers segment enjoyable..."...last season where they just missed the playoffs with that Suckup kick and they're up against the CAP...they're always the oldest team in the NFL..." .
-
Last years offense was just about the worst that this franchise has ever had. The key rankings for serious Super Bowl contenders is points scored and points surrendered. Like Ravenous says...it can all change by getting hot in the playoffs...or cold like the Bengals.
-
Monroe is not a "franchise player" and he's not worth the money of a tag. So don't give it to him. And if he was tagged then his agent will go for a higher contract amount than he's worth. He's good....solid....but not dominant.
-
I smell a ton of transition for the O line. Look out Joe!
-
Nice one RavenMad! I feel like a Browns fan when I watch him...you know....hoping and waiting for him to develop into a Stud...then waiting...and waiting...
-
He'll be long gone by then.

John does not speak with "forked tongue" here.... I want Terrance West. He's the next Priest Holmes.
