Com'm Man! Ease off Ed crav. Ed was one of the greatest Ravens players ever. EVER! He was SPECTACULAR and we got to watch him every Sunday playing for Baltimore. He gave everything he had and his body is paying for it now. I'm so happy that he got his Super Bowl ring. He wanted that sooo bad. "Set up The Convoy!"

Yea...if you want a truce then talk Steelers on the Steeler board. I could give a shit about them this time of year.

This stat makes a lot of sense. Just look at how many offenses ran over the Ravens last year and the ton of yards the D gave up. They were on the field more than most teams as they could not get off on 3rd down. The age and injuries were exploited. Webb, a sure tackler and playmaker, was out of the line up. It all adds up to the stat that this post is about. It's huge that the Ravens D has become younger and faster. To tackle somebody you first have to have the speed to get to him. They couldn't last year. Getting an arm or a hand on a guy is not enough. Ellerbe played hurt. He was lights out in the Colts game and then he was a step late against the Broncos. For every highlight reel hit that Pollard made there are 10 plays where he couldn't catch up to anybody. That will all change this year. But for shits and giggles...it was a Super Bowl Championship Defense...

We're Rich! -
From Joe Platania at Pressbox. It will be interesting to see how this shakes out by the start of the season. Some names will rise...some fall and some new names will appear by then. They need 53 "Ravens" for another attempt to make the playoffs.

OK...I'll stay open minded. Like I said...I'm all for good strong competition.

Better Quarterback: Flacco or Roethlisberger
vmax replied to OutsideRzAcE's topic in Baltimore Ravens
It's a 'no brainer' for me. If today I'm picking players for a brand new team, then I have to take Joe over Rthsslxxssbrrgrrr as my QB of the future. I don't have any hesitation pulling that switch. -
I like bringing in the competition but remember...this guy couldn't win a starting job with the Steelers, Eagles and Colts.

Better Quarterback: Flacco or Roethlisberger
vmax replied to OutsideRzAcE's topic in Baltimore Ravens
Rthsslsxxbrrgrrr never had a string of 4 straight playoff wins like Joe. The Steelers won those SB's despite Ben....with the Refs help. A Tebow led Bronco team defeated the Steelers in their last playoff game and Rthsslxxbrrgrr interceptions and poor judgment caused the Steelers to miss the playoffs last year. Joe has the better arm and accuracy. He has no injury history while Ben can't make it through a season. At this time Joe is ascending and Rthsslxxbrrgrr is descending and he has passed Ben as the better QB. -
It's 'a positive' that he's made those statements. He hasn't done that in the past. I'll believe it when I see that he is following through on the off season conditioning workouts. He can achieve those goals, but he needs trainer support and structure to do it.

The Ravens were doing that in the playoffs. -
Wow. What a joke. Let's take a peek at this panel of experts....

but at least they drafted their QB of the future...Power Rankings... 19.Pittsburgh Steelers Just like the Ravens, the Steelers have had their roster depleted with cap casualties and free agency departures, but unlike the Ravens, the Steelers have done little to fill the voids and plan for the future. It could be a long year in Pittsburgh. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/brian-billick-post-draft-nfl-power-rankings-050713

Ravens still looking for Boldin’s replacement
vmax replied to papasmurfbell's topic in Baltimore Ravens
Finding Boldin's replacement can not happen this year. All they have is a long shot chance that somebody on the roster can pick up the slack. Boldin only had 4 TD catches in the regular season, but he was a chain mover. They can manufacture a lot of that in other ways. Boldin went off the charts in the playoffs. We see 'that guy' because he was incredible. That can not be replaced by anybody who I see on the roster or the FA scrap heap. -
I guess we know what will be chanted when he catches a ball

When he scores a touchdown they should play polka music...like "Roll out the Barrel!"
