  1. Ray is a tremendous person and the best all around RB in the NFL. He leads the league in yards from scrimage over the last 3 years. We like to bash Cam but he is also responsible for Rays success. He knows how to use him and his offense revolves around him. He created the roles and opportunities for Ray to emerge as a great RB.
  2. McCllean has played very solid...strong. All I can say about Upshaw is he can push a tackle backwards.
  3. We can look at this in a positive light. Pees, Smith and Williams have learned that if they don't jam receivers like Johnson at the line of scrimage and provide help over the top then their Sundays will look like this.... and this... It would also be a good thing if he thought about how to generate pressure on the QB.
  4. To see good football is a rareity for Browns fans so anything that looks good is "BRILLIANT!" to them. For the rest of us a simple reception is ok....for them it's... "Did you see THAT! He caught the ball! OMG!!!!!"...What an amazing play!"
  5. I'm worried. Jimmy has to get it together.
  6. Great find papa! I've always been a fan of "Stan the Fan". Listened to his show every night. He is the first local media person to admit that the media can "run a guy out of town". That has been something that has bothered me since I became a sports fan. Wether it's the O's, Baltimore Colts or Ravens there have been and currently are players that they can publicly tarnish. Quotes can get twisted and false rumors can get reinforced until fans perceive them as fact. Ed Reed is the latest. He's an icon. He's a Hall of Famer. He has given his all and electrified this city. So his problem is communication with the public and he's not so good at being his own agent. We don't understand what he tried to say this off season and he's taken a lot of grief for it. The national media (not local...they have stood up for Joe) has been trying hard to crack Flacco. In todays local sports media market it's almost non stop coverage....which I love because I remember when it was hard as hell to get any information. But all that coverage has a down side when the talk shows get locked into bashing somebody or some organization like the Orioles. I saw the Colts leave town. I've been fearing that could be the Orioles fate. Well...they are on the O's bandwagon big time right now so for the moment that worry is gone. Billick was my favorite. He gave the media plenty of fodder and stood up to all of them. Local and National. Preston hated it. Most guys don't have a thick skin like Billick. They just stop talking to the media which really get's them on the shit list. Eventually the fun goes out of being here for them.
  7. His agent didn't do Williams family any favors. He looks like a "one year wonder" to me. If he doesn't perform then it will be vet minimum for him for the rest of his career. I hope I have to eat these words.
  8. Good news! This offense will be unstopable with them back in the line up.
  9. Wow! Down 5-0 and they comeback....and put some hurt on a wild card competetor. Who is McLouth? Just another guy out of nowhere who contributes to an Orioles win. Chen settles down, O'Day does his thing, Hardy, Markakas, Jones do damage...this is so unbelievable. 66-55. Texas next..got to survive this trip....it's still too early for me to believe a wild card spot is possible but...it is.
  10. I know people don't want to hear this and make like everythings going to be ok. The fact is that we will lose a big portion of our beautiful state this century. The economic impact will be devestating. The Federal Goverment and state goverments are in quicksand with the current state of our economy. They may be past their tipping points...but that is another issue.
  11. I'm not thrilled with Rossberg at all. His had a ton of unfocused, under achieving units. The talent for strong special teams is on this roster. If they don't get it done then Rosberg is the problem.
  12. We got to sweat it out. At the Ravens game Friday night I remembered the time, when at Oriole games, you would see a plane flying over the stadium pulling a banner that said "The Baltimore Colts wish you a great season". The Orioles would send one to the Colts games saying the same thing. I don't get where the success of both teams has to be a polarizing thing. Certain talk show heads keep trying to make it an "either/or" thing but that's ridiculous if you are a Baltimore sports fan. Not 1 reason on Earth that you can't have a great time enjoying both teams. You may have to choose what games you can financially afford to go to, but you can follow on TV, radio, the internet everything for free. At Friday nights game I had my radio and listened in to the O's game. I was raised right...
  13. Oh man that would be so friggn'n sweet!
  14. He's whistling in the dark and in denial.
  15. I've only reviewed the first quarter on Game Rewind so far....trying to get the courage up to watch what the slappies did during the other 3 quarters. I'll post back on the 2's and 3's later but they were dredfull to watch at the stadium.
  16. Speaking of pee targets... There are new urinals at the stadium with these circular plastic covers over the drain hole. I'm not the only sick person in Baltimore, because my first thoughts were that these covers should be Steeler logos. Other fans said the same thing. It's obvious what the next upgrade in the stadium bathroom decor should be.
  17. He's a "has-been"... Might not be a "has-been" yet... The Yets looked terrible...the QB's have an interchangeable nickname of "Broadway Joke"... Loved the Theisman comentary on an RG3 short pass incompletion..."I like the fact that he got rid of the ball." On his fumble..."That's good...now he knows he can't out run the guys like he did college players". Every mistake RG3 made was "good"..."he looks good". Based on last year and what little pre season games tell us, it looks like the Texans could be the strongest team in the AFC. All 3 units are solid.
  18. Once again..I can Not argue with him...
  19. I was there too. Basiclly we kept trying to figure out how many more field goals it would take to win..
  20. It kind of looks like some bees got in his pants or his ass is on fire or something.... I'll say this.... Jimmy Smith needs to start showing something now. Currently he's on the road to being a disappointment. He has to become a shutdown corner...at least as good as Webb. Or the offense has to score 30+ points a game. Courtney Upshaw has run out of tub time. He needs to make every practice and play his ass off...his team needs him. He's heading down the same road as Jimmy. He needs a "Sunday Go To Meeting" talk with Ray. He did show some good strength and push rushing the passer last night. Channell Your Inner Ray Courtney!!!! Cary Williams needs to watch film of himself from last year. He needs to play like that and get better as far as catching the ball. Otherwise last year will be his "One Year Wonder" season. Then there are the ton of guys trying to win back up positions at corner and safety. They can't help this team with poor coverage and tackling abilities. Who with step out of this group and be "Ravens"? This is how the Browns tackle. Not Ravens.
  21. I agree. Billy Bajema is not an effective substitute. The Lions secondary would not have been able to handle that many receiving options.
  22. OK...if they don't have all the parts, then getting to the AFC Championship game would be one hell of an accomplishment. They never played to "just go to the playoffs". Their goal is the Super Bowl. If they fall short, then they will feel "it's not good enough". I think every competetor feels that way. They all hate to lose. That doesn't mean that they didn't have a great season. A lot of teams last year had great seasons...they just weren't the last team standing. He said it's going to take "every man on board". That means you too. The 12th man. You're going to be a heavy burden for the rest of us fans to carry if you think this season is pointless throughout this year. I said "If". In 2000, I never thought the Ravens would get to and win the Super Bowl, but I marveled and relished every victory. I paid attention because I saw something special was happening despite the string of ugly, ugly wins. I learned a lot about being a fan that year. Enjoy the moment. Enjoy winning. I still remember the taste of losing from '96, '97' and '98....and seeing no end in sight. I want a Super Bowl like everybody but first, just give me a competetive team to follow.
  23. He's not great or a Pro Bowler, but he's damn good. He made a ton of key receptions last year and like Pita, he was a chain mover. He's a big target for Joe. Joe spreads the ball around because he has a ton of pass catching options that include Rice, Boldin, Jones and Smith so any TE in the Ravens offense won't post huge numbers. It's not like "the days of Heap" when there was nobody else to throw to. Times have changed. The Ravens are wealthy with pass catchers.
  24. I'm looking at 1st quarter right now...the 1's on 1's... LaQuan Williams only two catches but they were nice. especially the sideline catch. He would have 2 more but the Lions D had great coverage on him and made the play. Kemo...good push and penetration. Kruger...almost gets a pick 6. He can cover and played the run well. Tucker gets a 50 yard FG a minute into the second quarter. Jacoby Jones...how about that end around for 35 yards that took the Ravens 3 years and 587 attempts to get positive yards. If this offense becomes and top 10 or less passing offense it will be because of him Defenders have to respect his speed. He has great size (6'3"). It will be nasty for defenses to cover Boldin, Rice, Pita, Smith, Jones and Dixon. Joe has solid targets and playmakers everywhere but I think the addition of Jones will be that "one too many" that cracks this offense wide open. The O line looked good. That was a very good front 7 that they faced. Nice test. K. Osemele...the man is big, physical, nasty and playing very well for a rookie. Birk looks fit and was a difference in line communication. You can see he and Williams have to work together better but Farely will do that to you. Williams did well run blocking but he needs to improve in protection. I think he will come around and be a very positive addition. Savy vet who can't be rattled.. Yanda handled Suh who could not get untracked. Basicly it ends up 6-0 with the 1's on 1's. The offense was smooth and effective. About 210 yards worth. Joe looked very good and the wind was swirling hard in that first quarter. The game went south after that.
  25. Pees better get this corrected. Harbaugh watching his DB's performance...
