  1. I've been following the Terps (fun to watch) but haven't posted anything. They face a daunting stretch. Hope it doesn't hurt their season.

the postponement of the Virginia game -- from Wednesday to Monday -- places the Terps and Cavaliers in similar situations.

Now, each will play on the road Saturday -- Maryland at Duke, Virginia at Virginia Tech. Then each will quickly turn around and play each other on one's days rest. Slight advantage to Maryland for getting to play on its home court.

Then, they'll each do it again -- one day's rest followed by another game on Wednesday (Maryland at N.C. State, Virginia hosting Florida State).

  2. I did the same thing Max. Followed it up with a nice layer of salt. So far, it's holding out, which probably will save me from shoveling up another inch.

Great minds think alike! :D shoveling-snow.gif

The thing is we could have another foot of snow...or more counting the drifting but we won't be cracking our shovels into a bottom layer of ice.

  3. He was a cool dude but you can't chain smoke, not sleep and live off caffine without paying the dues. Factor in the perssure of being a captain and co-owner and something's going to pop.

Tough guy...seemed like a good father...that's one hard way to earn a living.

  4. Because of the sleet/freezing rain last night, I dug out my driveway this morning. Although it was only about 5-6 inches it was real wet and heavy....but it came up easy...down to pavement. I wanted to remove this lower layer so it wouldn't freeze solid and make digging out the rest of the storm a nightmare. I'll see tonight or tomorrow if my effort pays dividends.

matheson.jpg"Let me get this straight...are you saying....

If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life

Never make a pretty woman your wife

So from my personal point of view

Get an ugly girl to marry you

If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life

Never make a pretty woman your wife

So from my personal point of view

Get an ugly girl to marry you

A pretty woman makes her husband look small

And very often causes his downfall

As soon as he marries her then she starts

To do the things that will break his heart

But if you make an ugly woman your wife

you'll be happy for the rest of your life

An ugly woman cooks meals on time

And she'll always give you peace of mind

If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life

Never make a pretty woman your wife

So from my personal point of view

Get an ugly girl to marry you

    Sax solo

Don't let your friends say you have no taste

    Go ahead and marry anyway

Though her face is ugly, her eyes don't match

Take it from me, she's a better catch

If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life

Never make a pretty woman your wife

So from my personal point of view

Get an ugly girl to marry you

    Spoken:

    Say man!

    Hey baby!

I saw your wife the other day!

    Yeah?

    Yeah, an' she's ug-leeee!

Yeah, she's ugly, but she sure can cook, baby!

    Yeah, alright!

If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life

Never make a pretty woman your wife

So from my personal point of view

Get an ugly girl to marry you

  6. As a matter of fact I sent a tractor trailer to Lewes Delaware this morning, and have a truck in Cherry Hill for a delivery...We just inked a contract to start delivering to Walgreens Catonsville, breaking ground in March...Business econemy seems to be turning.

    Good news.

I can't get to work. Customers have no place for us to park. We're really backed up now and have a ton of work so once it clears I'm set.

    Start'm early folks... :)

  7. This is a once in a liftime event the way the storms are hitting. The snow fall records across the board are being broken.

Everybodys had enough except Mother Nature so...we have to ride it out gang.

  8. Single lane cleared on my street with a wall of snow on the sides. I can probably get out but I'm not sure about getting back up the hill. It looks icey too.

No way I'm going to work today....looks like none of my neighbors are trying to get out...

  9. Owwww my aching back..Friggin County closed my driveway in, had to shovel it back open.

My driveway too...#2 son complained about his back this morning after shovelling about 2 tons of snow. Thoughtfull and considerent that I am, I sent him back out there this morning to open up the driveway.... bus-moony.gif

  10. As we head into the off season I thought I'd wrap up my thoughts on the 2009 Ravens season while they are still fresh and I'd like to hear yours as well...with an A, B, C, D, and F rating.

I can't give them a 'C' because that's average and teams don't make the playoffs every year. An 'A' feels too high comming off of the 2008 season which was an over achieving 'A' in my book. So it looks like a 'B-' because the expectation was to make the playoffs and they did. They finished in the final 8 but the up and down, lack of consistency gives them the '-' in my book. The strong start and then the fumbling around middle part of the season taints the 'B'...getting swept by the Bengals does too. The coaching staff has to do better winning in the division.

Here's some of the highlights from the Ravens website...

The Ravens produced the top 3 offensive games in teamhistory: 548 yards vs. Detroit, 501 vs. Kansas City and 479 vs. Cleveland. Baltimore also tied the franchise record for points in a season (391) and set a new record for total TDs (47).

    • For the 1st time in teamhistory, Baltimore had a 3,000-yard passer (Joe Flacco - 3,613), a 1,000-yard rusher (Ray Rice - 1,339) and a 1,000-yard receiver (DerrickMason - 1,028) in the same season.

    • Here are other team records set by the offense: Flacco’s 88.9 QB rating and completion percentage (63.1), and Rice’s rushing yards per attempt (5.3). Three marks fell just short (2nd) of team records: Rice’s total yards fromscrimmage (2,041), Flacco’s completions (315) and his yards per attempt (7.24).

    • Baltimore finished 5th in NFL rushing yards (2,200 for 137.5 ypg).

    • Most impressive individuals included Rice, who finished 6th in the NFL in rushing and 1st among RBs in catches (78) and receiving yards (702); WR Derrick Mason caught 73 passes.

    • The Ravens’ defense finished 3rd in the NFL in total yards (300.5) and 3rd in points allowed (16.3). (It was the 7th consecutive season Baltimore’s defense finished in the NFL’s top 6.)

    • The Ravens finished 2nd in the NFL for fewest TDs allowed, including 4 games when the defense allowed no TDs, and 2 more when it gave up just 1.

    • The defense was 1st in rushing yards per attempt (3.4) and 8th (tied) in passing yards per game (207.3). Baltimore also held opposing QBs to a passer rating of 71.9 (6th in NFL). The redzone “D” (41.9 %) was 4th best in the NFL.

    • The Ravens were 1st in the NFL in kickoff return average (26.2), despite using 3 different returners: CB Chris Carr (24.2) started the season and was replaced by CB Lardarius Webb (26.2), who was placed on IR, and then RB Jalen Parmele (31.4) stepped in.

    • Importantly, special teams provided the Ravens’ offense with the NFL’s 5th-best average starting field position (31.8).

There was the great playoff win over the Patriots...the big win over the Chargers, beating the Steelers in OT.

There were the heart breaking losses to the Colts, Vikings and the regular season Pats game...and the refusal to sign Stover is a lowlight in my book.

The Michael Oher story. Two Thumbs Up.

and... Ray Lewis continues to beat Father Time...

Let's add one future prediction because Joe is growing as a franchise QB...

One day it will be the other way around Joe.

  11. TV? What the hell is TV? Verizon cut my service off this morning because they suck butt and are completely inept. I'll be missing the Super Bowl tomorrow. Oh yeah, I have no phone service either and get zero cell coverage in my house. By the grace of God do I have Internet.

You all know how much I hate CONcast. But I'm going to have to go back to them. God help me.

    NOT CONCAST!!!

    NOT THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
