  1. Boldin was great. 1 of those guys who epitomized the philosophy of playing like a Raven. However, what we have got from his departure appears to be much greater than what his role would have been. With Pitta and Dickson now injured would I love to have Boldin back...Sure would. However, I still think we made the right move.
  2. Bring back Hines:
  3. I like the Clark signing. The Stokely signing not so much. We have zero depth at TE at the moment so anyone coming in will help. At WR we have a load of young guys that I would prefer to see given as many chances as possible and signing Stokely isn't going to help with that. It also makes me a little nervous about what Ozzie and John think of our current receivers.
  4. 1. Flacco had Cam Cameron as a lead weight around his waist for most of the season. Hence the lol QBR rating. 2. Dumervil had 11 sacks in a "down" season. That was tied for 14th in the league! That would be arguing the point based upon flat statistical data which is no less than what you have done with saying Joe Flacco is middle of the pack with his lolQBR rating. 3. I agree with your agreement that Oher is a better RT.
  5. 1. They don't even consider Joe in the High Quality category so their ratings are bullshit. Joe had the greatest playoff run in the history of the NFL. Not elite? Debatable. Not High Quality = nonsense. 2. Dumervils bad season is still greater than most players good seasons so he should at least be above average. 3. Oher at RT is a different beast to Oher at LT like I stated. He has above average athleticism for the RT spot with an Elite mean streak. 4. Not surprising when you consider John's past like I said. I still expect them to start on opening day as they develop through preseason.
  6. I wish they had put their depth chart at the start of the article. I would have lol'ed and then stopped reading as it's a pile of crap especially the player type chart. Lets see, for starters Joe is only listed as above average. We can argue to death whether Joe is elite but what's not up for argument is whether he is in the top tier of QBs so that alone should have him listed in the High Quality category. Elvis Dumervil is listed as average! Alright then. Toke, toke, pass. Give me some. Michael Oher is not a below average RT. Below Average LT yes, but not at RT. Onto the article. If they have ever paid attention to the John Harbaugh era at all, they will know that he does not throw rookies into the starting lineup early. They must earn their starting role on the practice field, in scrimmages and then in preseason games. If they don't add that caveat about the roles of rookies then talking about this and that veteran starting ahead of them is wasted print. By the way, I think that is a great philosophy by John. Rookies will have to work hard to earn their roles and veterans at least know they will only lose their job to someone playing better than them, rather than some early round draft pick just being handed the spot because of where they were drafted
  7. Seriously you want Wines Hard as the face of your franchise?
  8. Where are my 3 paragraphs?
  9. Cut him now!
  10. I don't want to get into a defence of someone who uses racial slurs. However, how many of us have used language in the heat of an argument that we neither mean and/or regret afterwards. I could be wrong and Riley is a racist scumbag that needs his ass kicked and an example made of him showing that this behavior is unacceptable.
  11. Nope, new CBA restricts rookies from renegotiating deals before the end of their 3rd year: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/07/25/new-cba-limits-early-renegotiated-contracts/
  12. Can't negotiate a new deal until after a rookies 3rd year under the new CBA rules.
  13. I imagine they will start negotiating with Torrey as soon as they can under the new CBA rules and try and get something worked out before he gets anywhere close to Free Agency.
  14. Nice one. I just hope the weather gets better for you. We just had 3 weeks of 80F heat with no rain and for the last week it has hardly stopped raining. We have had some of the worst thunder storms with torrential rain that I have ever seen. It's like Florida rain at this time of the year but for 3 or 4 hours of the day.
  15. Not really I was asleep most of that time since max's original post. But I do remember the play so clearly. I also think if Bynes hadn't made the tackle then there was a little bit of room for Tedd Ginn Jr to make a play down the side line.
  16. I'm not saying anyone is making anything up but I haven't seen anything mentioned anywhere about Pitta turning down a contract extension. I think the FO was quite happy to have Pitta and Dickson play on their RFA tenders and then sort out new contracts after the season. It looks like a great decision on their part now as they are going to see exactly how much Dickson is worth and they will have more leverage in any deal with Pitta whether that be a 1 or 2 year deal to make him prove he is over his injury or a cheaper long term deal than had he remained healthy.
  17. Thanks guys and gals. Not long now Dee. Did you manage to persuade your cousin to go or are you still flying solo?
  18. I thought it was Bynes who made the last tackle.
  19. Puppies thread. Woohoo!
  20. He was released because he was 1 of the players that led the mutiny. While it was good for the team at the time, Harbaugh doesn't appear to have been happy how it was orchestrated and he sure as hell doesn't want this happening every season. Pollard wasn't a good enough player to take the risk that he wouldn't pull something like this again over something a lot more trivial and end up fracturing the entire team.
  21. Losing Boldin was sad but not the end of the world. Losing Pitta was sad but not the end of the world. However, losing Pitta and Boldin together is going to be tough as we have underperformers or unknowns to replace them. We lost a huge piece of the offense when Boldin was traded and now Pitta has been injured. I had to believe that Pitta would have took some of the production left behind by Boldin and hopefully 1 of the young WRs like Thompson or Doss could develop and fill the rest of the void. Now we have to have Dickson step up big time to fill Pitta's role and 1 of the young WRs is going to have to really develop into a capable starter. Otherwise teams will just double cover Torrey and Ray all day long and Joe will have nowhere to go with the ball. That said, Dickson started to make strides at the end of last season and in the playoffs. He had a couple of big catches in the Superbowl. I could see him having a monster season which means we would just need 1 of the young WRs to develop into a legit starting NFL WR. What happens when Dickson has a monster season and leaves for big money in FA and we are left trying to negotiate a deal with Pitta coming off his injury? TE is likely going to be a big need next offseason, but I guess we will worry about that in a years time.
  22. Steelers founded in 1933 have won 6 championships in 80 years. Congrats on winning a championship every 13 years 4 months. Ravens founded in 1996 have won 2 championships in 17 years. We win one every 8 years 6 months. At our present rates of winning we will probably have both won our 11th championships sometime around 2079 or 2080. If I'm still around then I reserve the right to post in all CAPS AND SIZE 18 FONT SO I CAN READ WHAT I AM BRAGGING ABOUT.
  23. I think the Basketball player gave up after a few practices. I was surprised the TE didn't make the list. Furstenburg was playing well according to some early reports. I also hate when the media gets their info wrong: I don't know how a player gets an honorable mention for the Big 12 when Colorado have been playing in the PAC-12 the last couple of seasons.
  24. Joe looks like he is trying to fly like Iron Man in that pic minus the suit of course. Wouldn't surprise me if he pulled it off to be honest.
