cravnravn Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 As the Ravens drafted in April, they knew several rookies probably would need to contribute immediately. When the team opens training camp at the Under Armour Performance Center this week — and when it begins the defense of its Super Bowl championship against the Denver Broncos in the regular-season opener Sept. 5 — it likely will follow that plug-and-play mentality. The Ravens never have started four rookies to begin the season, according to the Elias Sports Bureau, but that could change this year.Safety Matt Elam, inside linebacker Arthur Brown, defensive tackle Brandon Williams and fullback Kyle Juszczyk are top candidates to start because of their talent, opportunity and the way they fit the Ravens' schemes.“That's indicative of the intelligence and philosophy and confidence the Ravens have in their scouting staff,” said ESPN analyst Louis Riddick, a former director of pro personnel for the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Redskins. “They're always setting the bar because they find guys who are right for what they want to do. They know these kind of things, and that's why they're always out in front.”Read more: http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/bs-sp-ravens-rookies-report-0721-20130721,0,6034940.story#ixzz2Zg9B6jya Quote
cravnravn Posted July 21, 2013 Author Posted July 21, 2013 Article touches on Juice being an impact player, Id be more at ease with Leach back in the fold Quote
varaven45 Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Crav, I'd like to see Leach back to mentor Juice and show him the ropes. It's going to be a very different season. I am really looking forward to watching this team and all the new faces. Quote

Geronimo Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 No team in the nfl is going to carry 2 FB. That's a huge waste of a roster spot.I think it's possible for the ravens to carry 2 fb's and 2 Te's . Juice has played TE, you can have juice as your 3rd TE also. I'm not saying it's going to happen , just that if the ravens wanted to carry Juice and Leach, they could make it work. 1 Quote
cravnravn Posted July 21, 2013 Author Posted July 21, 2013 He'll be a special teamer, TE and FB, 1 player 3 positions, Quote
papasmurfbell Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Who should be released to to keep Leach? Quote
Robjr83 Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 As Harbs would say.. hes a "football player". Leach plays like a Raven. If anything I'd want him just for goal line plays. We carry a $hit load of RB's we can make room by cutting one. Whos on the roster @ RB? Rice, Pierce, Allen, Berry, Rainey, Juice? Quote
papasmurfbell Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 But they may have to leave a solid WR or something off the roster to keep a guy who might only play a few plays this season. Quote
colincac Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 There are always roster spots for FB's and TE's. Those guys have the versatility and skills to make a huge impact on all aspects of Special Teams. You guys are way overthinking this. Quote

They want him back (just at the right price). There will be a tremendous amount of versatility on the offensive side of the ball. Quote
Oldschool739 Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 But they may have to leave a solid WR or something off the roster to keep a guy who might only play a few plays this season. Probably Hanie, he's gonna get cut anyway...Ozzie loves Tyrod as backup on the cheap and Hanie is no better. If David Reed don't show some improvement, he could be gone, or as someone said, one of the RB's....No problem making room for Leach and I believe he will be back. Gooooo Ravens....REPEAT !!!! Quote
RavenMad Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 It's easy, the Ravens resigned Billy Bajema when they cut Leach. I expect that if they bring back Leach then poor Billy gets released again and Juice moonlights as the 3rd TE to go along with backup FB and H Back. Quote
Tornado700 Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Crave- I believe our chances of a repeat WILL come down to rookie plays this year. And, we had a great draft. Quote
