OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- Joe Flacco understands the lofty expectations that come with a Super Bowl ring and a new $120.1 million contract.

He couldn't care less.

The Baltimore Ravens quarterback scoffed at the idea that he is under pressure to excel this season, now that he's the reigning Super Bowl MVP and owns a six-year contract that, at the time, was the richest in NFL history.

"All we can do is go out there and keep winning, just like we have every year we've been here and not really worry about what people say and what the expectations are," Flacco said Tuesday. "Who really cares?"

After throwing 11 touchdown passes without an interception in a sensational playoff run that ended with a 34-31 win over San Francisco, Flacco no longer has to prove he is one of the league's elite players. He's the only quarterback in NFL history to win a playoff game in each of his first five seasons, and now he's got the fame -- and a paycheck -- worthy of such an accomplishment.

Whatever mentality and state of mind Joe has had in the past, it's worked for him and the team, so it shouldn't change now. I'm glad his approach to the game hasn't changed and that the money and accolades doesn't affect him, BUT what i expect from Joe as a rookie and what i expect from Joe in his 6th year has changed. In years past i looked at Joe as a game manager(first 3 years), the last 2 years i see Joe as a game manager, but in the big games now he steps up his game to another level and thats where i hope he stays, the bigger the game the bigger Joe plays.

He shouldn't feel any. He won the Super Bowl and went to DisneyWorld 😄. Plus, he's married, has a family and a huge new contract.

Really though, any pressure would be created by the media and 10 Million sports analysts out there.

Joe is Joe and he'll be fine whether the team goes 10-6 or 6-10.

It was the richest in NFL history for like a minute. By the time he is restructured (in 3 years), there will be quite a few higher paid QBs. People need to stop making it such a big deal. Everything I see from Joe tells me he won't change a bit. I mean...does this look like a guy who is going to change?

If Joe is fine with the team going 6-10, then thats when i think a change of mentality needs to take place

Joe won't be satisfied with anything less than the playoffs every year.

I understand that, my last post was in response to Varaven saying Joe would be fine if the team went 10-6 or 6-10.

He gets his money and still vacations at a public beach. Joe's very blue collar and most fans love him for it. His attitude hasn't changed one bit.

Joe was the King yesterday at his press conference. He controlled the whole show...and yes...he was cool .

Here's a question: What do you think the media would have done to Joe if he posed nude for ESPN, wore a Dolphins cap and said that "vegetables make you weak" like Kapernik did this off season?

Joe looks like he is trying to fly like Iron Man in that pic minus the suit of course. Wouldn't surprise me if he pulled it off to be honest.
