thesteelhurtin Posted September 9, 2014 Author Posted September 9, 2014 Crave is still Steelers and Ravens and as always it's going to be won by 7 points or less. I think they get together before the game and take bets as to who can give the most fans heart problems. Quote

papasmurfbell Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/09/09/shell-shocked-ravens-have-to-get-ready-for-game-in-two-days/ Shell-shocked Ravens have to get ready for game in two daysOh, by the way, the Ravens have a football game to play in two days. While their loss to the Bengals Sunday was quickly overshadowed by video of Ray Ricepunching his wife in the face, followed by his firing, the Ravens have to gather themselves in a hurry to play the Steelers, lest they get off to an 0-2 start.“It was a tough loss,” defensive end Chris Canty said, via Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun. “Certainly, when you get this type of news [Rice's contract terminated], it doesn’t make things any easier, but we have a job to do. We have to gather ourselves. We’ve got to move forward.“The Pittsburgh Steelers are coming in here Thursday. From a professional standpoint, they could care less about what we’re going through as a football team. We have to focus on what we need to do as a team to give us the best chance to be successful on Thursday night.”Among the challenges will be figuring out who is going to run the ball. That wasn’t going to be Rice this week anyway, but Bernard Pierce found himself in the doghouse after a fumble, with Justin Forsett taking over. But there are plenty of other concerns for a team that looked disorganized and sloppy in many areas that had nothing to do with Rice.“We’re going to play ball,” wide receiver Torrey Smith said. ” We knew we were going to be without him anyway for the first two games, so our focus is on the Steelers and nothing else. More so than anything is getting this stuff out of the way early, because at the end of the day, we’re focusing on our game plan and going out there to play ball.“That’s just a product of it. We lost one of our best players here, and he was a great Raven, and it feels weird to even say that. That’s the punishment, and he has to deal with it. It’s way worse for him than it is for us. We just have to get ready for the next one.”That kind of compartmentalization is easy to talk about, but tougher to achieve, especially during a short week. Quote
varaven45 Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Crav, You are spot on. I fully expect a listless, lifeless effort on Thursday night. The Steeler-Raven rivalry is on hold, at least for Thursday. Quote
thesteelhurtin Posted September 9, 2014 Author Posted September 9, 2014 Like max said in another thread the Ravens could come or extremely fired up due to losing their boy. I seem the Canty interview he sounded like he was about to cry. Quote

oldno82 Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 I am not predicting what will happen Thursday night. We may get blown out. We may play tough. The latter would show a lot of character, especially if we could pull off a win. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Sunday night I was sure the Ravens would win. Today I think it is a loss. Quote

thesteelhurtin Posted September 10, 2014 Author Posted September 10, 2014 The Ravens have to try and stop the balanced Steelers offense. Bell rushed for 109 nd had another 90 through the air. Brown had 140 yards and Wheaton another 97. The Steelers took their foot off the gas and it showed. Quote

cravnravn Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Somebody needs to get a grip. BACK TO FOOTBALL, What gives you any indication from what we seen Sunday that we can even be on the same field with the Steelers? Cinncy lost there best LBer, they were missing a starting WR too..Cinncy settled for 5 field goals in the first half, if thats Pitt thats 5 TD's, takes all the momentum the crowd noise away from us. We had 9 dropped balls last week, stick'em is outlawed, what makes you think that will change..Joe threw the ball 62 times last week, if we have to rely that heavily on the pass we will lose Quote
