thundercleetz Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 I listen to O's games on the radio. For this series, former O's phenom Ben McDonald is on commentary. He has a thick Louisiana accent, I love it haha. Quote
Spen Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 I listen to O's games on the radio. For this series, former O's phenom Ben McDonald is on commentary. He has a thick Louisiana accent, I love it haha. Thanks for the heads up, I enjoyed listening to him last season. Quote
Spen Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 What a performance today. Good pitching and great hitting! Quote
varaven45 Posted August 16, 2015 Author Posted August 16, 2015 Indeed. The bats were humming today at the yard. And the O's are tied for 2nd WC pending outcome of Angels-Royals tonight. Quote
varaven45 Posted August 17, 2015 Author Posted August 17, 2015 With our offensive juggernaut and 18 run scored yesterday how many runs do we get against the A's ace Sonny Gray tonight? Quote
varaven45 Posted August 18, 2015 Author Posted August 18, 2015 Well we got four - 3 unearned - but good enough for a 4-2 win and sweep of the As. How sweep it is ! Quote
Spen Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 A four game sweep is always sweet. Such a streaky team, but fun when going well. Quote
thundercleetz Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Have to keep it rolling. We have a very difficult Mets pitching staff next. Quote
thundercleetz Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Good strategy, let the other team score all its runs for the series in one game! Quote
GrubberRaven Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Drop Weiters...0-7 when he catches... Quote
varaven45 Posted August 22, 2015 Author Posted August 22, 2015 Rough outing for ODay. Gives up lead off walk in 8th, followed by bloop single. Blown game. Tough, tough loss. Quote
thundercleetz Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 I've lost hope for this season. Expectations are shot. Can't keep winning one and losing two. Ravens season can't come soon enough. Quote
thundercleetz Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Hate to say it, but do you blow it up after this season? We can't simply go out and buy starting pitching. Our whole contention model was based on "growing the arms buying the bats". We assembled a top lineup, however, we failed to grow the arms. Now we are losing Davis, Wieters and Chen, with ZERO pitching help on the immediate horizon. Maybe we need to rebuild like the Astros, Cubs and Mets and try again. Quote
thundercleetz Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Edit: if we can re-sign Davis and Parra I think we will be able to compete again next season. However, losing Davis is going to hurt A LOT. Quote
dc. Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 I think Chen is a must-keep, but he'll be expensive. I do think we can buy arms more easily than some think... but you have to spend money and we won't pay up enough. Quote
Spen Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 I still have hope. I will be happy if they are still alive for a spot in the final week. Heading to Aberdeen tonight to see hopefully some of the Orioles future players play. Quote
varaven45 Posted August 22, 2015 Author Posted August 22, 2015 Ditto on the SP woes. It's a rag tag staff as it is right now. I don't see any big arms in our future which is why I had hoped we would have made a run at David Price. The future of our pitching staff doesn't get one very excited does it ? Quote
cravnravn Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 We lose, yankmees lose, still a lot of season left, hell no I haven't given up on this year. Quote
varaven45 Posted August 22, 2015 Author Posted August 22, 2015 Crav, no one a giving up on season but the SP future isn't very promising. Wouldn't you agree ? Quote
dc. Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Still can make a run at Price. Happy to go for him in the offseason more than in the trade pool Quote
GrubberRaven Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 DD is to blame...piece of shit allowed pieces to walk that made us successful last season and replaced them with multiple, unequal parts.Bet Toronto is glad they dodged a bullet. F that asshole... Quote
varaven45 Posted August 25, 2015 Author Posted August 25, 2015 As the originator of this thread I'm about to change the title from walking dead to just dead 1 Quote
