TBird Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 According to SI. He had us going to it last year (as I did) but some well timed trickery by NE vsa beat up secondary kept the Ravens from going. SI says Ravens could use a change of fortune and if their secondary can stay healthythey will march thru a wide open AFC after going 11-5 in the regular season. Peter King also has the Ravens winning SB 50. See my post on the Bronco thread where Ravens will beat Denver. Bedard, who picked the Ravens to win the AFC North at 11-5, has them taking a route to the big game fans will likely love -- a wild-card win at home over the Pittsburgh Steelers, a road divisional-round win against the Patriots, and a win at the Denver Broncos in the AFC championship game over former offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak.Bedard cited the Ravens' record in traveling to New England in January, and said their stout front seven can shut down Seattle’s ground game in the Super Bowl.“Baltimore is the most well-rounded team, one that has a lot to prove given how last season ended,” he wrote. http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/ravens-insider/bal-sports-illustrated-picks-ravens-to-win-super-bowl-50-20150903-story.html Quote
vmax Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 It's nice to get some love from the media but this is a killer schedule. It will be a war all the way to make a playoff spot."IF the Ravens make the playoffs, then I love their chances to go all the way. This schedule will make them a great team. Or break them.... because a lot of unproven players have to emerge. The TE's.Perriman and the other receivers because Steve Smith can't do it all.Suggs and Dumervil have to hold up. Smith and Webb too.Jernigan's out. Can Williams and rookie Carl Davis hold down the fort? And then the all important Team Chemistry. Can the Ravens achieve great chemistry with so many new players? This does not happen over night. "Now hold on there max. I never did anything, played for the Ravens 1 year and we did ok." Quote
TBird Posted September 9, 2015 Author Posted September 9, 2015 The first month of the schedule is brutal but it evens out in the second half. I have us with 10 or 11 wins, and a SB run. As for your questions VAX, SI says Ravens have the most well rounded team. Quote
cravnravn Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 Most rounded team? Our defensive backfield is no better then when we played new England, and our tighe ends are inexperienced. Quote
GrubberRaven Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 We didn't have Jimmy Smith Crav...Are you drunk? Quote
TBird Posted September 10, 2015 Author Posted September 10, 2015 LOL - Suggs said this hype is like the kiss of death. Quote
TBird Posted September 10, 2015 Author Posted September 10, 2015 Good point about Jimmy. We almost went to the SB last year w/o him. It took a lot of trickery and cheating and deflated balls vs a beat up secondaryto beat us. We blew 2 TD leads in Foxboro in February. Nobody does thatup there. Quote
cravnravn Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 We didn't have Jimmy Smith Crav...Are you drunk?Nope, but we will soon find out if Jimmys presence makes any difference at all. He didn't fair to good the last time he faced pay pay on week 1. Quote
TBird Posted September 11, 2015 Author Posted September 11, 2015 He's still not 100%. It's a 12-15 foot month injury and he was hurt in week 5 last year. When he does start he'll be moving a lot slower than usual but he'd be better than thebackups. Quote
oldno82 Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 If we don't generate pressure on Manning, we'll get killed. Hopefully we'll get better as season progresses but I just don't feel a win coming this Sunday. I'd be fairly satisfied if we just don't get blown out like last time. Quote
TBird Posted September 12, 2015 Author Posted September 12, 2015 Well, at least Piss lost last night opening vs the champs. They have more probs on defense than Ravens and still have secondary probs afterlosing what they did. Quote
oldno82 Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 True. But they've got Bell and Matavius coming back in a few weeks too. Quote

Tornado700 Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 I thought Pittsburgh looked pretty good. They were a couple of bad luck plays away from the win. At Pittsburgh is going to be another at Denver tough match up. Quote
