OutsideRzAcE Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 No he doesn't. He did not have a good game but there are a of players and coaches that need to go before Jimmy....including everyone else in the secondary. Quote
Robjr83 Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Not with the money they just gave him. He's still got a ton of rust on him. Quote
TBird Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 People forget, Jimmy had a 12-15 month injury in week 5 of last year. He came backearly so he's not nearly 100% but who had an interception in the end zone? Checkout vid on www.baltimoreravens.com. Give it time. What is needed is Ed and Ray's leadership. HARBs got rid of the guyshe didn't want in ED, Pollard and Boldin and has been paying for it since. Quote

All the tough guys in your face 'I'm going to run over you' except Smith Sr, are gone. Quote
Tornado700 Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 What is going on here? I'm totally baffled. I am now leaning toward the "let's go for the # 1 pick next year.My heart just can't take it. Quote
Money Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 He couldn't cover shit today. Giving up 100 yards and 1 TD to Green while also picking a ball off isn't a horrible day. Jimmy Smith is far from the problem on defense. Quote
TBird Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Yep, he didn't want any players disagreeing with him. All the tough guys in your face 'I'm going to run over you' except Smith Sr, are gone. The guy I was upset the most was losing Pollard. He had Gronk's number and ruined him even when he playedon other teams before the Ravens. So last year we don't have Pollard in NE and Gronk kills us with all those yardsand score. Thanks HARBs. Also, the fans would say losing Boldin hurt the most. We would have made 6 straight POs with him but he was alsoin the club house revolt. Ozzie said it was about production not personalities. BS. Both Pollard and Boldin had monster years on their new teams. Boldin came within a play of going back to the SBwhile we had nobody. Signing Smith SR last year was Ozzie's way of admitting he was wrong with Boldin. Quote
TBird Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Wasted fucking pickYou didn't say that when he won SB 47 by shutting down Crabtree at the end of the game. He watches filmand saw KAP tap the back of his helmet with his right hand. Jimmy knew exactly where the play was going and shut Crabtreet down. If he never played another down after that he was worth that first pick for winning SB 47. Quote

Tornado700 Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Seriously Crave, I think Jimmy Smith is not fully healed yet. He runs at about 80%. Quote

tsylvester Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Giving up 100 yards and 1 TD to Green while also picking a ball off isn't a horrible day. Jimmy Smith is far from the problem on defense. Poor technique cost him. I think the first half, the first quarter when Green was shut down, got him and the other corners over confident. Smith will be fine, he is over paid, but still a very good corner, not much they can do about that going forward. They can't get rid of all the secondary, so keep Smith and get rid of everyone else. Quote
TBird Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Then if that's the case he's not helping this team. Seriously man, half a Jimmy is better than a whole of anyone else they got. They would have been 12 steps behind Green. Anyone remember lastyear the TD Greenscored vs Chykie Brown, I think it was when he batted the ball up into Green'shands with 2 mins left in the game after Ravens pulled ahead. I think it was Brownor AsA. The biggest lesson learned from SB 3 is that you never start a game with your bestplayer on the bench as Shula did with Unitas who had a sore elbo all year and wasrusty coming off the bench in the second half. Johnny Sample of the Jets said Colts would have won if they just started him inthe 3rd qtr. Unitas said he only needed 1 more qtr. Any coach will want his banged up starters playing instead of a fully operationalbackup of AsA over Jimmy. You want Melvin or AsA covering Green? Didn't think so. Quote
thundercleetz Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Jimmy Smith got 4-years, $48M with $21M guaranteed. Darrelle Revis got 5-years, $70M with $39M guaranteed. AJ Green got 4-years, $60M with $32.75M guaranteed. I wouldn't say Jimmy Smith is overpaid. The market is set for a corner that can cover a guy like Green (Revis), and Jimmy is a level below that. Byron Maxwell got 6-years, $65M with $25M guaranteed and he's been abused this season by Julio Jones and Brandon Marshall. Quote
oldno82 Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 You know, you've got a great point, Cleetz. He's being paid for what he is. He's not a shutdown corner but he's probably a very good one who is trying to return from a bad injury. Quote
TBird Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 105.7 fm was just blaming Jimmy saying he made the play to Green too easy. Webb is done and shouldn't be playing at all. Perriman finally returned to practice last week but just tweeked his knee againso no one knows when he'll play. Joe can't get it done with Marlon and Aiken. He has no weapons afterSR. Only Marsha and Rogers are the elite QBs left. Quote

Didn't have much to do with Smith, more so on who was throwing the ball the the net defense the Ravens ran; let them catch it and run to tackle...... Quote
thundercleetz Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Brown also dropped a TD on a ball he usually catches. I'm assuming it was the left handed spin that caused the drop. Quote

Yes it was aoccring to Cris Carter and also Brown, who responded to a text from Carter after the game. Brown didn't expect it to fade down so much. Quote
