vmax Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Ramsey. Good cornerbacks are hard to find. Few teams have one good cornerback, much less two, and the Ravens don't have one who would qualify as the shutdown type. It was interesting listening to Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith talk Tuesday about how much his ankle injury affected his play last season and still might to some degree going into 2016.When they were a dominant team in the early 2000s, the Ravens relied on a strong, physical defense, and they showed signs of improvement in the second half of last season. In the final eight games, the Ravens posted the NFL's No. 2 overall defense and the No. 1 pass defense.During this offseason, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh and defensive coordinator Dean Pees have worked hard to retool some of the defensive packages, and the Ravens added the much-respected Leslie Frazier as the secondary coach and the highly regarded Eric Weddle at safety. Now if they get Ramsey it will significantly upgrade the defensive backfield from a position of weakness to one of strength. Both Weddle and Frazier can help Ramsey improve on mechanical and technical issues that Ramsey will struggle with as a pro........http://www.carrollcountytimes.com/bs-sp-preston-column-0423-20160422-column.html Quote

Jax is the concern. They did sign a couple of db's in the off season, one a pretty good starter when he can stay healthy, and their safeties are pretty good. They could still take Ramsey, but I think they ignore the rumors of the disintegrating knee and take Jack, leaving Ramsey for the Ravens even if Bosa is there. Bosa just doesn't fit this system of the morphing from 3-4 to 4-3 even to a 5-2. He would not see many snaps and do you really want the 6th pick of the draft to be a one down, maybe 2 down player? RavenMad Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Ideal scenario is someone trades up to 3 with the chargers for Lynch which will leave us with one of Ramsey/Tunsil/Buckner at 6. I hope we get either Ramsey or Tunsil. Both fill a need as well as being the top 2 players in this draft IMO. Quote
tsylvester Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Rumors are the Broncos want Lynch badly, how badly will be interesting... Quote
Robjr83 Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 I'd be happy with Buckner or Tunsil.... I don't think Ramsey falls to us. Quote
cravnravn Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Rumors are the Broncos want Lynch badly, how badly will be interesting...they should be able to get him without moving up Quote
52isUnstoppable Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 agree with some of the above posts. I think there is a greater chance of Tunsil being there than Ramsey. I'd love to get Tunsil @ 6. Having Joe locked up for 6 years would feel a lot better knowing he's protected by a stud LT. Quote
thundercleetz Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 You know what would be interesting? QBs go 1 & 2, Chargers take Buckner, Cowboys take Elliott and Jags take Jack. That would leave Ramsey, Bosa and Tunsil at our pick. Quote
oldno82 Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Tunsil falls to us as do Buckner or Bosa. If that's the scenario, I hope they pick Tunsil. Then they can go after Headcase Spence in the early 2nd or move up to late 1st. Quote
52isUnstoppable Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Tunsil would be the least sexy pick but long term would be a great addition to the team. Quote
oldno82 Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 I know it's not exciting but Tunsil, if he's as good as they he is, could shore up LT for years and protect Joe. Quote
tsylvester Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Durability is the only real question on Tunsil..... Quote
thundercleetz Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Who would you guys take if both are available: Ramsey or Tunsil? Quote
tsylvester Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Who would you guys take if both are available: Ramsey or Tunsil? Tunsil, locking down the line, if he pans out, would be huge. all though one will have to pay top dollar once he gets into form. If both were there, there would likely be teams fighting to get the 6th pick, would you trade out then? Quote

vmax Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 (edited) The game is won in the trenches and that's where I hope the Ravens go with this pick.I am sick of them drafting great lineman, developing them and then losing them to free agency....but....let's get mean and nasty up front. But we also lost a lot of close games last year because of the secondary. Id be happy if either Ramsey or Tunsil is there. If not, Buckner or Jack. We cannot lose in this draft position Quote
oldno82 Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 If it came down to either Ramsey or Tunsil, I'd want to see Ramsey because he's a playmaker and we all know how bad we need those. Certainly wouldn't bother me if they took Tunsil. An anchor for the left side of the line like Yanda anchors the right. Quote

vmax Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 yea..I think so. And smart smoke too. The Ravens are baiting teams who wants these guys to give up a boat load of draft picks to move up. Come on Thursday! Quote

Cody is a great guy but not an NFL talent. Rumor has it the Bears want either Ramsey or Elliot and are willing to move up to six if need be.... Thursday should be interesting. Quote
Tornado700 Posted April 29, 2016 Author Posted April 29, 2016 We got Stanley, a long term left tackle. I was hoping for Ramsey, but Jax snatched him. I then KNEW we were taking Tunsil and will admit that I screamed at the TV, "what the heck are you guys doing?" Then I listened to the ESPN guys and was suddenly relieved. They said Tunsil has been arrested, suspended, injured, and has many character issues that made the Ravens hesitate big time. They also showed a recently tweeted photo of someone who many believe is Laremy Tunsil smoking a bowl. ESPN stated that Ozzie and company are one of the best draft front offices in the NFL and know what they are doing. They said that Ronnie Stanley is the Ravens long term solution at left tackle. Wheeeeew. Quote
