papasmurfbell Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/893536044758560768 Ian RapoportVerified account @RapSheet 11m11 minutes agoMore#Ravens & OT Austin Howard agreed to terms on a 3-yr deal worth $16M, source said. There are team options after each year. $5.5M in year 1.
papasmurfbell Posted August 4, 2017 Author Posted August 4, 2017 No. I am just surprised. They have to move on some guys to make some space.
oldno82 Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 Shame about Gilmore but somebody had to go and the guy couldn't stay healthy.
ravinmaniac52 Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Gilmore may find himself back on the team once the toilet has been flushed
papasmurfbell Posted August 6, 2017 Author Posted August 6, 2017 They can't pick him up now. They don't have a spot for him. Maybe he would go to the PS but I doubt it.
GrubberRaven Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 Considering Howard hasn't even reported to practice yet...
papasmurfbell Posted August 7, 2017 Author Posted August 7, 2017 I was wondering what that was about too. In that he was cut from NO after I think 5 days warning flags could be coming.
papasmurfbell Posted August 7, 2017 Author Posted August 7, 2017 Could be. They should just be transparent.
oldno82 Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 According to Hensley, Howard hasn't been cleared by trainers yet so maybe conditioning test is the story. Or, maybe he hurt himself over the weekend moving here. That would be about par for this team, this training camp. Also Hensley says Joe had a second opinion last week and prognosis was for a'slow return.'Good news is hard to find for this team.
vmax Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 This is going to be a fun team to watch this year. The best team since the Super Bowl squad.
ravinmaniac52 Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 Cant take anymore. Going to my room and listen to Simon & Garfunkel
papasmurfbell Posted August 9, 2017 Author Posted August 9, 2017 Apparently they didn't get it under the cap.Does anyone know what the penalty is for going over the cap?
tsylvester Posted August 9, 2017 Posted August 9, 2017 Apparently they didn't get it under the cap.Does anyone know what the penalty is for going over the cap?Penalties include fines and/or forfeiture of draft picks. In recent history both the Pittsburgh Steelers and San Francisco 49ers have been penalized draft picks, while the 49ers' front office personnel (Carmen Policy and Dwight Clark) were also fined.
GrubberRaven Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 https://twitter.com/FieldYates/status/895609571678576640 Source: the Ravens converted $7.725M of CB Jimmy Smith's $8.5M base salary into a signing bonus, creating $5.15M in cap space.
tsylvester Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 Plenty of room to add another player who may get cut later this summer..
GrubberRaven Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 They may need it for insurance throughout the season
papasmurfbell Posted August 10, 2017 Author Posted August 10, 2017 With the way injuries are piling up they need space for signings. Also blowing up future caps is not wise.
