vmax Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 2 solid articles on what the Ravens need to do. Run and play great defense. Coordinator Dean Pees’ defense has three shutouts this season and leads the NFL with 22 interceptions and 33 total takeaways. The Ravens are allowing the fourth-fewest points per game (18.1) and are in the top 10 in fewest passing yards allowed per game (213.9), total yards allowed per game (322.8), third-down defense (37.2 percent) and red-zone defense (47.6 percent)...“I’m really greedy,” Suggs said. “I like to be perfect, but I also live in the real world. Yes, I love the way we’re playing right now, but come Sunday, it’s going to take a phenomenal Ravens defensive effort.” Ravens coach John Harbaugh should have a private meeting with his offensive line and running backs this week to tell them about the team’s secret to success in the postseason. If the Ravens are to become serious contenders in the playoffs, they have to be able to run the ball because the top contenders — the New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers, Kansas City Chiefs and Jacksonville Jaguars — seem to have trouble defending opposing ground games. And if the Ravens need a tuneup in preparation, they should start Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals, who are No. 31 against the run allowing 128.5 yards per game.....http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/ravens-insider/bs-sp-preston-ravens-run-20171226-story.html Quote
varaven45 Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 Max, You read my mind - Collins and Allen need to have substantial yards in order for us to win Sunday. Here's trusting that's already in our game plan and will be executed. I hope you shake off that bug ! Quote

oldno82 Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 Agree...the running game sets up the play action. Worried that Collins is fatigued from all the effort he puts in. Quote

vmax Posted December 29, 2017 Author Posted December 29, 2017 Just what I want to hear.... “This is the definition of finishing right here,” Ravens defensive tackle Brandon Williams said, calling Sunday an “end-all, be-all game.”“You have one game left, and if you win, you go to playoffs,” Williams said. “If you don’t, you’re sitting at home. There’s no excuse – you have to finish. You have to literally leave it all out there on the field because this could be your last game.”....“You’re only as good as your last game, and for us, our last season. We didn’t end the way we wanted to. That’s been the driving force all offseason, OTAs, training camp. Every week, every meeting, it’s about finishing,” Weddle said. “What perfect time and opportunity to exemplify what we’ve been preaching over the last year and have that moment. It’s going to take everyone: everyone on the field, the coaches, our stadium, everything to accomplish this goal and continue our momentum into the playoffs.”...http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/ravens-insider/bs-sp-ravens-finish-bengals-20171228-story.html Quote
oldno82 Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 It's going to be very important for the Ravens to score first because I think the Bengals will just lie down then. If the Bengals get on the board first, watch out! Quote

vmax Posted December 30, 2017 Author Posted December 30, 2017 Maclin out, Wallace wavering, maybe the ginger will be spanking the Ravens.... He doesn't play against Macklin and Wallace. Burfict Doubtful to PlayThe Bengals may be without starting linebacker Vontaze Burfict, who is dealing with a shoulder injury. He suffered the injury last week against the Detroit Lions and was knocked out of the game. He did not practice at all this week.Playing without the hard-hitting linebacker would be a significant blow to Cincinnati’s defense. The Bengals also ruled out starting left tackle Cedric Ogbuehi (shoulder). Running back Joe Mixon (ankle) and cornerback William Jackson (knee) are both questionable to play after being limited in practice all week. Interesting start..... 86: Penalties by the Ravens this season. If the Ravens commit fewer than three penalties against the Bengals, they will break the franchise record for fewest penalties in a season (89, 2001)....https://www.pressboxonline.com/2017/12/29/nfl-week-17-ravens-vs-bengals-by-the-numbers Quote

tsylvester Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 I started to, but gave up after the first few minutes of the first episode, stupid story line, dumb dialogue, terrible acting and then CBS wants people to pay them for that crap? Kind of like watching the Ravens.... Quote
papasmurfbell Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 I have kept at it. It has gotten pretty interesting. I also don't pay for it. I have a free site. Quote
