vmax Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 Vinnie Cerrato is picking the Browns to win. That's why he's doing sports talk and not a GM. I don't want to pound on him too much because he does have some good insight and breaks things down well. And...this is one that they could lose if they come strolling in thinking the Browns will be a *** I'm stupid for thinking this game is easy ***. We know the Browns have improved bit by bit after having the 1st pick in the draft for the last 100 years. Even a monkey calling the picks would luck out and land some good players.Am I saying the Browns Front Office has been dumber than a monkey?Maybe. They needed a QB to start getting some wins and maybe Mayfield is that guy. I love his attitude and leadership qualities. He just might be around for a long time. Yet on Sunday???? He's not man handling the Ravens D. vmax Posted October 3, 2018 Author Posted October 3, 2018 Mayfield and Andrews were considered to be the top players at their positions in college football last year.Mayfield won the Heisman Trophy for the game's top overall player. Andrews received the John Mackey Award, which is given to college football's most outstanding tight end. They were both first-team All-Americans.With his ability to get open and outrun defensive backs, Andrews became Mayfield's favorite target. They connected on 62 passes for 958 yards and eight touchdowns......"It will be weird for sure, seeing that guy you’ve competed with for the last four years and playing against him," said Andrews, who has 10 receptions for 119 yards and a touchdown. "Just knowing how dangerous he is and how passionate he is for the game is a scary thought. But, at the same time, I have a ton of trust in our teammates to go against him."..........http://www.espn.com/blog/baltimore-ravens/post/_/id/46517/from-teammate-to-rival-facing-baker-mayfield-is-scary-thought Quote
oldno82 Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 Could well be an upset but if the Ravens do win it'll show they have there heads in the right place for the stretch that's coming up. I'm feeling lucky and feeling a win. Quote
vmax Posted October 4, 2018 Author Posted October 4, 2018 (edited) Bing predicts: 60% chance BAL wins ‧ 40% CLE win Got to stop this guy; Carlos Hyde has five rushing TDs this year, tied with Alvin Kamara for the most in the NFL. The only Brown with more through four team games of a season is Jim Brown, with nine in 1958 and six in 1963.It's not Mayfield who I'm worried about. It's Mayfield with a rushing attack. The Browns have the #23 passing offense. Key #1: Stop the run. The Browns have the #1 rushing attack in the NFL. Nobody's talking about that. Baltimore Ravens vs. Cleveland Browns Predictions 10/7/2018Cleveland fell to 1-2-1 with the 45-42 road defeat in overtime to the Oakland Raiders as a +2.5 betting odds underdog. Browns failed to hold an eight point lead late giving up a seven yard touchdown pass and two point conversion with thirty seconds remaining. Their offense posted 487 yards with 108 on the ground. Baker Mayfield hit on 21 of 41 for 295 yards with two touchdowns and two picks. They were 2 of 4 inside the red zone while Oakland 4 of 7. Nick Chubb ran for 105 yards and two touchdowns on three carries. Defensively Cleveland allowed 585 yards to the Oakland offense with 426 passing with 139 on the ground. Cleveland will lose cornerback Terrance Mitchell for some time with a broken forearm. Baker Mayfield was involved in four turnovers in defeat. Browns are second in the league in rushing with 152.8 yards per game.Baltimore Ravens vs. Cleveland Browns Pick—Free pick is Baltimore Ravens -3. It was a very good defensive effort by the Ravens in their 23-14 victory at Pittsburgh Ravens shut the Steelers out in the second half. Pittsburgh offensive was performing well until they face the Baltimore defense. Browns defense last week allowed the Raiders to move the football on them. They played almost five full quarters last week. Baltimore passing game is performing well with 307 yards per game with 7 per attempt. Ravens are defending the run well allowing 82.5 yards per game with 3.9 per attempt. With the Baltimore passing game working now they can exploit a Cleveland pass defense giving up 278 yards per game. varaven45 Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 Cant sleep on Nick Chubb either. My head says Ravens; my gut says Browns. Close game - pick em. The outcome will tell us a lot about this years team. Quote
tsylvester Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 Browns are good, strong defense, good runnning game, developing passing attack. They have a very good tight end, a position the Ravens struggle to cover. I would not bet on this game were I a betting man. But, I too pick the Browns, hope I am wrong.... Quote
oldno82 Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 This is a great trap game. If the Ravens think these are the same Browns of last year, they’ll lose. Cleveland is now your typical AFC North opponent. Tough, fast, and with talent all over the place. Still think the Ravens win but not feeling as comfy as I did earlier in the week . Quote
varaven45 Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 You are right - This has the makings of a rumbling slobber knocker. FWIW- Browns could easily be 3-1, if not 4-0. They had NO beaten in their house. Quote

Baltimore at ClevelandTime: Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (CBS)Line: Ravens -3The Ravens are playing consecutive road games and are coming off an emotional victory over the Steelers. That can be draining. That's why this game will be close. But I think the way the Ravens defense is playing will make for tough going for Baker Mayfield. Should that happen, history shows they’re in store for a special season.Since the organization’s first season in Baltimore in 1996, the Ravens have never managed a 5-0 start, but have gone 4-1 five times: in 2000, 2006, 2010, 2011 and 2012. Among those five times, the Ravens have won their two Super Bowls, as well as three of their four division titles. Most importantly, the Ravens have never missed the playoffs after going 4-1. The worst regular season record any of those five teams finished with was the most recent one in 2012 that went 10-6 – and we all remember how that season ended. So, while Baltimore is a quality team with a legit chance to win the AFC North, the Ravens could definitely falter in Cleveland after topping the Steelers in prime time. Baker Mayfield will rebound from the Browns' excruciating overtime loss in Oakland -- although unlike in that scoring bonanza, I don't anticipate these teams combining for even 60 points. Joe Flacco was on point last Sunday night, but he'll encounter a much better pass rush and secondary than what he faced in Pittsburgh. This could come down to the kicking game, which certainly favors John Harbaugh's team. varaven45 Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 Call me crazy, but calling for upset special tomorrow. Coming off huge W in Pittsburgh, Harbaughs boys will be flat- seen this too often. Plus, Joe overdue for a dud game. Browns coming in ticked off after blowing (or refs) loss at Oakland. Team could easily be 4-0. Super Bowl game for Browns and Mayfield has coming out party. Browns in an upset tomorrow and get even at 2-2-1. Its what Im seeing. Quote
vmax Posted October 7, 2018 Author Posted October 7, 2018 Let's hope the defense doesn't start out slow again. It used to be an offensive problem. Now it's the D. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 something else that hasn't changed. Letting the Browns hang around. In the past they were not capable of doing anything when they were allowed to stay in the game. Not so much now. Quote
tsylvester Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 This entire team looks slow, lethargic, going through the motions. Even Brown seems to be stuck in first gear.. Must have been some party last night. This game is over.... Quote
Spen Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 That play by White on the punt was heads up, not sure I've ever seen that. Quote

vmax Posted October 7, 2018 Author Posted October 7, 2018 wow...the Ravens are better than the Browns at finding ways to lose. Quote
