varaven45 Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 Any thoughts or words of wisdom on Sundays game ? It should be interesting.I'm look forward to seeing how Lamar does on the road.It should be fun and entertaining, plus its being broadcasted in my local area (SE Virginia).Black birds vs dirty birds ! vmax Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 Nail biter for sure. This is another "must win" game in a string of "must win" games. Can a rookie QB stand up to that?Lamar has shown improvement from his first start to second. That trend has to continue to keep the playoff hopes alive. New challenges await as he will be on the road and the Falcons have some tape on him.If the Ravens win, then they could pick up some ground on the other teams in the hunt for the 6th wild card start. If the Steelers lose....one game back for the division. Anything can happen. It will be a real exciting Sunday. Quote
oldno82 Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 Yep anything can happen this Sunday...Falcons game may come down to a FG or we may get blown out. But I'm hoping for a Lamar win and a Steeler loss. Besides Lamar I'm also looking forward to see Gus the Bus run. Quote
Spen Posted December 1, 2018 Posted December 1, 2018 I'm not sure we can keep up with them offensively. Hope so. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted December 1, 2018 Posted December 1, 2018 You habe to keep this running game up to hold them off the field. Then maybe their D falls apart with TOP. Quote
vmax Posted December 1, 2018 Posted December 1, 2018 the ravens D held the saints to 24 points and the Steelers to 23.We have a shot tomorrow.I wonder if the Ravens players are at the stadium watching Alabama/Georgia. Quote
oldno82 Posted December 1, 2018 Posted December 1, 2018 It's going to tough tomorrow. The running game has to click to keep Ryan and Co. off the field and wear down the defense. In that regard I agree with the above comments about the running game. But if they stack 8 in the box, Lamar is going to have to pass more to open the run game up. We'll see if he's developed enough to pull that off. Quote
vmax Posted December 2, 2018 Posted December 2, 2018 FPI win projection: ATL, 56.5 percent. The Ravens are the AFC team with the most on the line in terms of the playoff picture this week. Baltimore could see its playoff chances swing by 34 percentage points this week, according to FPI (61 percent with a win, 27 percent with a loss). In case you need your nerves ramped up a little bit. papasmurfbell Posted December 2, 2018 Posted December 2, 2018 That first defensive series was very solid. They do need to tighten down though. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted December 2, 2018 Posted December 2, 2018 That offensive series was great. Except for the hiccup on the downs when they first got to the end of the faclons end of the field it was a perfect drive. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted December 2, 2018 Posted December 2, 2018 Nice drive ended with a rookie mistake. I would still not make any changes at QB. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted December 2, 2018 Posted December 2, 2018 There can be no question who the starter is anymore. Quote
vmax Posted December 2, 2018 Posted December 2, 2018 Lamar took a step back today.3 fumbles. One for a TD.Today the Ravens won because of a great defensive effort.17 runs/21 passes. He has to develop as a passer or there's no hope for him to be a franchise QB. Physically, a QB can't run this much and survive a 16+ game season. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted December 2, 2018 Posted December 2, 2018 It would help if he had guys who caught the ball. That said the way the offense runs eating clock makes this D thrive. Quote
vmax Posted December 2, 2018 Posted December 2, 2018 Very impressive.... The Falcons entered the game No. 6 in the NFL with 6.2 yards per play, buoyed by quarterback Matt Ryan’s precise passing attack. But Atlanta finished with just 2.9 yards per play and 131 overall. Ryan was 16-for-26 for 131 yards and a touchdown....https://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/bs-sp-ravens-falcons-analysis-20181202-story.html This was enough but "not very impressive"............ Jackson completed 12 of 21 for 125 yards and scored Baltimore's only offensive touchdown on a 13-yard run in the first quarter , getting to corner after keeping the ball on a possible option.Tucker connected on field goals of 41, 21, 45 and 47 yards....http://www.espn.com/nfl/recap?gameId=401030928 only 19 points for the offense against the 29th scoring defense. Quote
varaven45 Posted December 2, 2018 Author Posted December 2, 2018 Impressive D and we got the W in Atlanta. Thats a dang tough place to win against that offense. Ultimate test next weekend in KC. Quote
vmax Posted December 2, 2018 Posted December 2, 2018 This win is huge as I see a loss for sure next week.Colts lost, Browns and Bengals lost....Titans are losing. There's a little breathing room. Not much but it looks like they will be in the hunt until at least 12/16. 7-5! Quote

He has to develop as a passer or there's no hope for him to be a franchise QB. Physically, a QB can't run this much and survive a 16+ game season.Yeah, we had to expect some rookie mistakes. Luckily they came and we still won. The WRs still are not very good and don't help much. As long as they are alive for a playoff spot I would do whatever it takes to win. Have him run as much as needed. As soon as they are out then I tell him to stay in the pocket. The defense was awesome. 19 points offense is not great but it seems about what we have averaged here for a long time. Quote
oldno82 Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 If the Steelers lose tonight we’ll be a half game behind. Glad the Browns lost. They are having growing pains too but are still tough. Quote

They have to draft and develop some of their own for a change. Quote
GrubberRaven Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 Not really impressed by 125 yards of passing Quote
papasmurfbell Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 He is a rookie. They were desiging the d to stop him. He has to adjust. One thing going is he run game and it keeping the d honest Quote

GrubberRaven Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 True Papa and he was out for a series, kudos to RGIII for manufacturing 3 points. Quote
