vmax Posted January 7, 2019 Posted January 7, 2019 "I have every expectation, every plan to be here as long as the Ravens want me here, and I believe that they want me here," Harbaugh said after the Chargers defeated the Ravens 23-17."And I think that's been made clear by them to me over the last few weeks, and like I said a couple weeks ago or last week, I love everybody in the organization. There's just great people and expect to go forward with that as long as that's what they want to do. And I do believe that's what they want to do, and let's roll."....http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/25696904/baltimore-ravens-want-john-harbaugh-back-sides-continue-contract-talks Quote
OutsideRzAcE Posted January 7, 2019 Posted January 7, 2019 Im satisfied with him coming back - hes earned it after this year. That said I think the most valuable coach on this team is Martindale. He is consistent and makes adjustments. Quote
GrubberRaven Posted January 7, 2019 Posted January 7, 2019 Marty needs to go...but if Harbaugh stays, MArty stays Quote

He is consistent and makes adjustments. When he was 4-5 he earned coming back? BTW he said weeks ago he didn't want an extension. How many of his assistants are willing to bet on his ability to continue to grow this. I would expect as many as possible to look for job security. Quote

papasmurfbell Posted January 8, 2019 Posted January 8, 2019 It is relevant. He could not get the team going in the right direction. If Joe had not gotten hurt he would not have changed QBs. Then they would not have gotten into the playoffs. Quote
OutsideRzAcE Posted January 8, 2019 Posted January 8, 2019 But Joe did get hurt and they did get into the playoffs so why wouldnt you factor that into the evaluation? Quote
GrubberRaven Posted January 8, 2019 Posted January 8, 2019 But Joe did get hurt and they did get into the playoffs so why wouldnt you factor that into the evaluation? Because Papa said so, duh Quote
papasmurfbell Posted January 8, 2019 Posted January 8, 2019 No. If his hand hadn't been forced he would have stayed the course just like 2012. Quote
Spen Posted January 8, 2019 Posted January 8, 2019 No. If his hand hadn't been forced he would have stayed the course just like 2012.Ugh, don't bring that horrible year up. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted January 8, 2019 Posted January 8, 2019 If he hadn't had his hand forced he would have been fired soon after that point. Quote
vmax Posted January 8, 2019 Author Posted January 8, 2019 Stop it.At 4-5 this team could have quit.Instead they went all out and banded together. The fact that there are players saying they don't want to leave, love it here and hope they are back next year speaks volumes to how much the players believe in John....and Lamar.Players don't want to play for shitty coaches. JPPT1974 Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 Yeah as Lamar Jackson saved his season. Great year as really Jackson rescued the Ravens and saved the coach's job. Quote
Spen Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 Yeah as Lamar Jackson saved his season. Great year as really Jackson rescued the Ravens and saved the coach's job. Maybe. While I tend to mostly agree, Gus Edwards really came on and the defense started playing better. I'm not convinced there's wouldn't have been some improvement if Joe had stayed healthy. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 Why does the coach not have the pulse of the team? Quote
Spen Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 You know nothing about that, have no inside knowledge. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 The results say he didn't have the pulse of the team. He was forced into successful moves. He doesn't make moves that are successful of his own free will. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 IE Andy Reid trading away Smith and playing Mahomes. Quote

Flacco is out; Jackson is in. Jackson’s development will shape the contours of the Ravens offense, but so will the guy overseeing it. Harbaugh made the unpopular decision to retain offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg after last season. Now he faces a risky proposition: Keep Mornhinweg and risk losing Roman? Or promote Roman and fire Mornhinweg? What to do. Keep talent around or keep a bestie around? Quote
varaven45 Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 A. Retain Roman, lose Marty. B. If that doesnt work, start anew - fresh young OC who can coach/mentor LJ. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 If A is not an option C will be in effect. Keep Marty. I think Roman will be on another team. Quote

varaven45 Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 You're posting out of your ass again. Forced or unforced, he had a successful season (won AFCN). He and/or his coaching staff didn't make pre and/or during game adjustments and lost to the Chargers. Otherwise, he had a successful season. He needs to replace the OC and rebuild/fortify the offense for Lamar or our next QB. If he doesn't, expect the same exact results (in 2019) as last Sunday's game. Quote

If nothing changes I expect a much worse season than this. The fact they won 10 games with this team is pretty amazing and a credit to the coaching staff and certain players. The team has big deficiencies in a number of key positions. The Chargers are probably better than the Ravens. The Ravens needed to play great and didn't. How much more interesting is the game if Tucker makes that kick? Was that Harbs or the OC? Either way Paps is a fucking idiot. Predict bad things all the time in sports and youre more likely to be correct more often than not. Then repeatedly point out you're not a fan like it's a badge of honor. Then post I told you so's all the time. He's a fucking cunt. Pulse of the team, lol Quote
