vmax Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 Hanging out in the ER basement with some fellow posters.......... detoxing from Politics and the election, but little by little, I'm getting my priorities straight...Ravens football! And we have another good one coming up against our good friend Bellicheat on Sunday Night. You know he'll call a trick play, at a critical time, and the Ravens will fall for it... and Ham Newton.... and the Patriot cheerleaders... The Ravens are 7 points favorites at Gillette. 66.3 win probability. Pats are 3-5...2-2 at home. When's the last time we saw that?! Team Stats Points Per Game 28.4 20.8 Points Allowed Per Game 17.8 24.3 Total Yards 362.3 373.3 Yards Passing 192.1 213.6 Yards Rushing 170.1 159.6 Yards Allowed 347.8 363.3 Pass Yards Allowed 246.0 232.3 Rush Yards Allowed 101.8 131.0 Can the Ravens offense pick up where the left off? Quote
papasmurfbell Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 This should be done by halftime. Quote
tsylvester Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 The Pats defense is terrible, even Billy Boy can't scheme his way to hide their flaws. The Pats o line is horrible, it take a qb the size of Cam to stand back there. Even he is exhausted as the game goes on, one never knows which Cam will show up from game to game, let alone play to play. Night games in New England used to bring out the best of the Ravens, will this one? It should not be close, good game for the Ravens to get healthy and have fun... Quote
oldno82 Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 I think the Ravens will win but I have a feeling we're not done with the doldrums yet. I look for a close game. 20-17. Here's hoping I'm wrong. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 With 9 opt oits on D they are devoid of talent. Quote
vmax Posted November 12, 2020 Author Posted November 12, 2020 (edited) "What do you predict Childs?" "Thanks for having me on. Making the ER Board is a career milestone...... It feels strange to view a trip to Foxborough, Massachusetts, as a relatively light week on the schedule, but the Ravens are better than the Patriots in almost every area and will benefit from an extra day of preparation. Jackson will need to avoid turnovers against a good secondary, but the Patriots match up poorly against the Ravens' power and don’t have enough offensive weapons to keep pace. Ravens 31, Patriots 20......https://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/bs-sp-ravens-scouting-report-patriots-20201112-zmdkbgszpvawxf5koplbwyo5lu-story.html Edited November 12, 2020 by vmax Quote
varaven45 Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 I'm with OldNo. Another close game - made closer by Bellichick and his D. Also, cannot overlook Cam as a threat. Need to keep him in check. He was a bad fumble from defeating Bills a couple weeks ago. My two cents - I expect a very close game. Quote
vmax Posted November 13, 2020 Author Posted November 13, 2020 (edited) "No way this is close!" The D will gobble Cam and the O breaks out. It's Prime Time. Ravens Time~! Ravens 31-13. We'll be celebrating in the ER pool by halftime... Oh well........ Edited November 13, 2020 by vmax Quote
vmax Posted November 14, 2020 Author Posted November 14, 2020 Here's some facts from the Ravens website..........https://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/everything-you-need-to-know-ravens-vs-patriots-x7625 The Ravens have the NFL's longest road winning streak (10 games) and need a victory as they chase the Pittsburgh Steelers (8-0) in the AFC North. My thoughts: 10 game winning road streak is awesome. Very rare. The Patriots are in danger of missing the playoffs for the first time since 2008, and have not had a losing season since 2000. What a wonderful opportunity to lend a friendly hand to bring this about! The Ravens are 2-2 in playoff games at New England, but have never won there (0-5) during the regular season. "It's time to change that stat." The Ravens have the NFL's top rushing attack, averaging 170.1 yards per game. The Patriots rank next-to-last (31st) defending the run. New England has excellent pass defenders in Gillmore, Jackson, Devin McCourty and Jonathan Jones. They have the talent to create turnovers, but Jackson will also put pressure on New England's defense as a runner. Patriots Head Coach Bill Belichick is a defensive wizard, but he didn't have an answer for Jackson last year when Baltimore rolled to a 37-20 victory. It will be interesting to see what Belichick cooks up for Jackson in this rematch. "Man, I don't know....I guess road grade them into submission...then kill them with some big play passes. Not a dink and dunk day. The Patriots have found another weapon in Jakobi Myers, an undrafted free agent in 2019 who had 12 catches for 169 yards Monday night. He dominated the target share. Baltimore has three outstanding cornerbacks in Humphrey, Peters, and Jimmy Smith (ankle) who hope to lock up New England's receivers. If Myers can't get open, it could be a long night for Newton. "Yea...making it a long night for Cam sounds good. It's time for Yannik to display his talents." Quote
vmax Posted November 14, 2020 Author Posted November 14, 2020 (edited) "What's your prediction Jamison?" "It's an honor to make it onto this message board. Thank you from the bottom of my heart...like way down bottom....deep, faint, echos in the dark bottom..." Bold prediction: The Ravens will score over 40 points for the first time this season. During Baltimore's 10-game road win streak, quarterback Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore offense have averaged more points (32.3) than anyone else away from home. New England, which gave up 37 points last season to the Ravens, has a banged-up defense working on a short week. -- Jamison Hensley...https://www.espn.com/blog/new-england-patriots/post/_/id/4821545/pats-only-chance-is-play-turnover-free-football-against-ravens-oppressive-d Another milestone for Sunday night...... Quote Jackson can match Newton's rushing quarterback milestone in front of him. When the Baltimore Ravens play at the New England Patriots, Jackson needs 25 yards rushing to join Newton as the only quarterbacks in NFL history to run for more than 500 yards in each of their first three seasons. https://www.espn.com/blog/baltimore-ravens/post/_/id/53638/join-the-og-how-lamar-jackson-can-crash-cam-newtons-rush-qb-club Bonus question: In what quarter does Lamar set this record? Finally: I owe Cam an apology. He really is a good person with a huge giving heart.....out of the spotlight, he's a giver.... https://www.sbnation.com/2019/9/19/20872340/cam-newton-selfish-narrative-panthers-nfl https://catcrave.com/2020/01/13/cam-newton-year-honor/ https://popculture.com/trending/news/cam-newton-donates-130k-during-surprise-sleigh-charity-event/ Edited November 14, 2020 by vmax Quote
vmax Posted November 16, 2020 Author Posted November 16, 2020 Long wait for Ravens football today. It was a Redzone day......fantastic finish by the Cardinals. Bengals didn't show up ....Browns didn't show up but the Texans really stunk it up in a very winnable game. Ready to watch "Our Guys" Quote
Spen Posted November 16, 2020 Posted November 16, 2020 Excellent drive, nice mix of running and passing plays. Nice TD play too Quote
vmax Posted November 16, 2020 Author Posted November 16, 2020 Ravens O looks like last week second half. The Pat's TD drive was too easy. 7-7...possible dog fight with bad weather coming in. Who can p,ay the best in it? Quote
