tsylvester Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 Let the cap calisthenics begin, as they try to exercise the Lamar contract/ tag. First as we said earlier, Chuck Clarke is being traded, clearing about $4.1 mil from the cap. Now Micheal Pierce is taking a restructure, turning $2 mil in base salary into incentives, saves the team $2.6 mil roughly. These two moves leave the Ravens with needing to clear @ $3 mil more to be cap ready by the league year next week. Quote
tsylvester Posted March 11, 2023 Author Posted March 11, 2023 Jeff Z is reporting that the Gus Bus has agreed to rework his deal, supposing that his $5.6 mil cap hit will be lowered. No details as of yet by how much. Quote
oldno82 Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 Saw that about Gus on local Sports TV tonight. Glad we're able to fit him in. Meanwhile that was a BIG deal between CHI and Carolina! Quote
tsylvester Posted March 12, 2023 Author Posted March 12, 2023 Yeah, tells you that neither team was interested in Lamar, a rookie qb was more important, apparently, to the Panthers. That and the rookie deal that will help rebuild the team, though with not much draft picks... Quote
oldno82 Posted March 12, 2023 Posted March 12, 2023 Maybe, maybe Monday we'll find out if there's any interest in Lamar. And,also, what Aaron Rodgers is going to do. Quote
tsylvester Posted March 13, 2023 Author Posted March 13, 2023 Gus's salary per CBS 2023 salary by about $1 million but gives him the opportunity to earn the money back via incentives, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports. With his base salary dropping from $4.38 million to less than $3.5 million Quote
tsylvester Posted March 13, 2023 Author Posted March 13, 2023 Cambell released, saves the team $7 mil in cap space. I would be shocked if he were not resigned at a much lower number https://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/calais-campbell-released-veteran-ravens-free-agency Quote
oldno82 Posted March 13, 2023 Posted March 13, 2023 I really hope we get him back here. We need his veteran savvy and work ethic. Quote

It is not here. I would talk to Philthy to join that D. 1 Quote

papasmurfbell Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 He is still very good in spurts. He could help the eagles. They lost Hargraves and Campbell could help with that loss. Quote

Could happen, sure, but he loves it here in Bmore, loves playing for the Ravens, so expect him to finish out here Quote
tsylvester Posted March 15, 2023 Author Posted March 15, 2023 Grub, our favorite runningback is back with the Ravens, https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/football/news/ravens-justice-hill-staying-in-baltimore/amp/ Hill is re-signing with Baltimore on a two-year, $4.5 million contract, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. GrubberRaven Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 Hope he's not walking around in MD today, he may need an injury settlement with this wind. Quote

tsylvester Posted March 16, 2023 Author Posted March 16, 2023 Iggles have lost a lot of players, a few coaches, they will not be the same team this season. The Ravens are a qb, solid qb play, not exemplary play mind you, from returning to and winning playoff games. Quote
tsylvester Posted March 16, 2023 Author Posted March 16, 2023 Ravens tender Huntely, right of first refusal, 2.6 mil... Reports that they did look into Mayfield and Brissett, thankfully they both went elsewhere. Of the remaining qbs, I wonder, who is better than Huntley? Joe Flacco, Matt Ryan, Carson Wentz, Marcus Mariota, Teddy Bridgewater, Chase Daniel, and Gardner Minshew? I wouldn't mind Minshew over Huntley, in Monken's system he might do well Quote
GrubberRaven Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 They're saying Minshew is going to Indy... Quote

GrubberRaven Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 He's part of Indy and Mariota just signed with Philly. Quote
