reddog271 Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 If anyone has the game on tape. check the Titians touchdown drive. On First down they got nice yards on a run by Johnson, then a personal foul where the ref said first down counted. should have been 2 and long. Johnson had a nice run to make it 3rd and short. but the sticks said 2nd. then they had an incomplete pass on 3rd. But they got another 3rd down play to get first down. I can't be crazy. I remember this clearly. Can anyone verify this?? Quote
cravnravn Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 The play that pisses me off..I think the RB was Lendell White? They were backed up at the goal line and Collins handed it off..There aint a shot in hell that White made it out of the endzone, his knees were down 2 yards deep in the endzone.. Quote
reddog271 Posted January 11, 2009 Author Posted January 11, 2009 it was chis johnson, but you are right. Quote
vmax Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Nevertheless, I'm grateful for the refs... Quote
BeenAround Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 If a personal foul takes place after the play, the result of which is a first down, it is a first down and long. Personal fouls after the whistle do not negate the play or its result. Quote
dc. Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 I agree on the PF call and downs, but white was out of the endzone. I was just going to add that in the Titans first three drives, the ravens d was called for a few tickytack defensive contacts. Not worth as much as the PF, but still auto first down. Btw- replay shows joe didn't step out of the endzone, so why is that being listed as a controversial call everywhere??? Quote

dc. Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Well duh. But even major news sources are talking about it. Just. silly Quote

cravnravn Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Max..I know you tape the games, was CJ out of the endzone? Quote
dc. Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Crav, that is one play where they showed multiple replays. It was White. His knee was in the endzone, but barely. The ball had clearly broken the plane out of the endzone at that point... if only by an inch. Quote
vmax Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 The ball was out crav..I haven't watched the tape yet but from the game replays, that was clear to me. Hey..Ravens got the short end in their 13-10 loss here on that phoney Suggs roughing the passer call. This time we caught a lucky break on the 4th quarter, winning drive, game clock play...and won the more important game of the season...yup...13-10. These teams are even...in score and karma. Quote
deeshopper Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 These teams are even Lendale White disagrees. In fact, he said if these two teams played ten times, the Titans would win nine. Quote
REEDPIXOFF Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Lendale White disagrees. In fact, he said if these two teams played ten times, the Titans would win nine. How nice for them, too bad they couldn't win that 10th one that counted. Quote
vmax Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Lendale White disagrees. In fact, he said if these two teams played ten times, the Titans would win nine. Funny how many playoff losers to the Ravens have said that in the past...."They're not that good". Quote
Brando Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Lendale White disagrees. In fact, he said if these two teams played ten times, the Titans would win nine. Well, Lenwhale, it only takes one game in the NFL and you lost, so STFU and go to a buffet. Quote
cmacarolle21 Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Haha yeah I think if your knees are in the end zone and your a rb that should be a safety. But, it's not were not debating the rule were debating the play. He crossed the goal line and was at like 6 inches past the goal line. Quote
RavensNest8483 Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Just got back from Nashville today.... I was 16 rows from the goaline on this play. He got out of the endzone, but it wasn't by much. The big controversy titans fans were flipping out about was the big pass play we had to heap on that final drive. The playclock in the stadium said 0 and they were screaming for a delay of game. ForceEight Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Thank GOD I wasn't the only one who noticed this. I didn't mention anything because the rule that BA mentioned popped into my head, and I figured the ref was just mistaken. But why did he say it , and why wasn't it corrected? Regardless of the rule, I want to know why the referee said it, and why the outcome was different. Quote
cmacarolle21 Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 What do you mean he got out of the end zone are you saying that it was a safety? Also another penalty Chris Johnson face masking http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/footbal...56.photogallery Quote

Also another penalty Chris Johnson face masking http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/footbal...56.photogallery That link doesn't work, but it doesn't matter. It's not a penalty for an offensive player (i.e. running back) to grab a defender's facemask... Quote
ravinmaniac52 Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 I might be wrong but I don't think I am but isn't the official time on the refs? I aways thought that it was kept that way. The clocks we see aren't always right. Titans had all kind of way that they could have won that game but they didn't, isn't that what was being said about the 2 games the refs gave away from us? Yes, and yes. Whenever we lose because of the referees, we're told to that we should've just played better. Therefore, I have no interest in arguing about any of the calls or non-calls. Put simply: suck it. Quote
