McKinnie is seeing a very bare market out there, definitely room for us to bring him back for 2 Million or so this year on another 1 year deal. With 12 picks and Oher's contract up next year I wouldn't be surprised to see us draft 2 Tackles though.

They need to keep Oher. He is a good RT just not a good LT. I agree they should give up on Harewood and Reid. It may just be possible to get McKinnie for $2 mil and draft a LT out of college to be groomed. I don't particularly like Bryant but there is no doubt the whole offense clicked when he was in there. Some (or all?) of that might also be due to Caldwell since both happened around the same time.

Thing is if they dont resign Mckinnie, and move Oher back to left, after this year Oher becomes a FA and hes going to want to be paid as a LT..

That's another reason they shouldn't move Oher to LT. Hell, if we have to, draft a guy.

If they want McKinnie, then he'll be here. They can make that happen.

They may put a strong push to sign Huff who will be here this week.

They need enough to pay rookies and sign players during the season due to injury. 3.9 I don't think is enough to even do that.

The rule of 51 means in reality that they only need about 1-1.5mill of space to sign the earlier round draft picks as the later round rookies will be earning less than the current ERFAs we resigned so effectively those rooks won't count against the cap. With Pollard's June 1st designation I think we actually get extra cap space then which basically covers what we need for the rookies.

Because of the rule of 51. Only the top 51 salaries count against the cap and as you sign a player another player drops out of the top 51 unless the signed player is on a cheaper deal.

For example if our 1st round pick has a cap figure of $1m then 1 of the ERFAs that cost us $630k drop out of the top 51. But the total cap number only goes up by $1m less $630k = $370k. With how cheap the later round players are they actually will not count against the cap at all until they make the team at final cuts.

As for Pollard he is saving us $500k now but with the June 1st designation the total savings will be $2m. So the Ravens will have another $1.5m of cap space which if you look at the example above should be enough to sign all our draft picks.
