I figure McClellan, Powers, Wright and Elam need to go for certain. They stink, have stunk since they were signed and have shown nothing in the way of improvement. Suggs & Dumervil need to go as well, but I think that goes without saying. I would say Mosely should go, but I am biased in his regard, hated that draft pick and he has done nothing to change my mind. Always late to fill his gap, rarely gets a good drop, terrible at diagnosing plays, but hey, he can catch and makes a play once every 4 games.... But ditching half the starters on defense can't be done... Ducosse (sp) and Zutah need to be gone from the line asap. Neither can hold a block, both just hold players to block. Floundering whales they are. I love the heart and hard work Aiken has put in over the past few years. Excellent special teams player, one of the few receivers who block down field, dependable hands but he can't get seperation from a snail and if the ball isn't perfectly thrown he loses his balance and falls down... Anyone else? I highly doubt Ozzie pulls the plug on many if any players mentioned, he loves Wright's play as much as Jenson's....

What a pathetic excuse for a team. Clearly this team, both sides of the ball, was playing for stats, not for a win. Harbs even has the balls to challenge a first down mark early in a meaningless game? Do we really need any more seasons to fire Harbs? A throw back to a tackle eligible play, from 8 yards or so away? And Marty should stay?

Yep, very similar. A great replacement for Smith sr, and a true jitter bug they need in the slot.

If you get a chance, turn the Bama vs Washington game. Oh sure, Bama should roll, but keep an eye on Junior wode out John Ross. IF he comes out this year, he will go in the first round. Early eastimates have him running a 4.1 forty.... He is a polished receiver, not even the Ravens could mess him up. Great technician whwn it comes to route running. Along with the real speed he has the jitters, quicks, he breaks anckles of would be tacklers. He has great hands and yes, he catches with them, and makes the acrobatic catch look easy. 5'-10", 175 pds, perfect in the slot, he is tough, also plays outside and with his quickness, he gets off the jam. Now, Browning might not get a lot of time to throw, but Ross would be a great pick in the late teen range for the Ravens.

Slower traffic keep right. Well, if I am going .01 mph faster than the person on the right, it might take me a while but legally I would be going faster than them, thus not having to move over...

Max, that was the thinking the team had last year heading into the off season. Even though they were only a five win team they looked at all the 3 loss games and thought they were so close.... So what did they do? Keep everyone, bring in new positional coaches, afterall, the skill of the players was there, they just needed better coaching... That was the thought, yet we see the result. Terrible, undisciplined play in most every game; Again. No, this team needs to see change, players need to know there are serious consequences for their mistakes and the coaches do as well. Every player gets beat from time to time, every coach gets out coached a few times. But this happens every week, and not just this year. Even in 2012 this team was lucky to overcome poor decisions by the coach, players not being simply beat by better athletes, but because of poor technique, laziness, blown assignments. Enough is enough. I am all for stability, I am glad they won a Super Bowl recently, but this is not good football, by and large not an offense just facing goood defenses, but poor play, poor play design, poor play calling. This is not consistantly good defense facing good offenses. This is blown assignments, age, endurance- wearing down late in games, late in the year. This is a paultry 10 wins or so on the road since 2012. This all falls on the head coach including all the penalties that keep the team among the tops in the league since he took over...

Sorry my bad, old memories deceive the mind.. Thnx papa, but the sentiment stays the same, goom-bye.

Coaching, what is the Ravens record on the road since the Super Bowl? They brought in new coaches (positional), they have one of the largest coaching staffs in the NFL, yet players in all facets of the game keep blowing assignments, keep making the same drive fatal mistakes. At some point you have to look at the head coach who has a major voice in who his coaches will be, and what players or types of players he wants on this team. Then you factor in the many mistakes the head coach makes every game ever since he took over as head coach. Wonder why his players keep making the same dumb mistakes each week? His contract is up in a couple of years, time for the Biscutt to cut ties with him. Bring in an offenaive minded coach, as I said earlier this year, Billy Bob Thorton would be a great choice. Bring back Rex, or Pags as defensive coordinator, some one who knows how to identify with defensive players and attacks. This roster is old, over priced but clearly not too far off considering how poor quality this league is right now. Get rid of Colletto, who has not been able to coach offensive line players unless they are hall of fame material... Get rid of any scout or front office person who thought some of these players were worth drafting or signing as free agents and clearly have not worked out. Then talk Ozzie into retiring over the next year or less... Step up Biscutt...

His only miss was not a true miss, they need to adjust how the score that play. It is one thing to kick the ball low and have it blocked at the los, quite another to have it bkocked right off his foot...

That is a great question. They are young and they are deep. I would have to look at snap stats to see how many times they rotated. But Mosely and Orr are showing us just what some of ua thought; neither is a starter. I do think Webb is starting to work out at safety, he may need to take a pay cut though.... The biggest issue I saw with the d line was with Williams and Pierce, both were killing the center for the Iggles, blowing him back deep into the back field. Problem, no one else was getting a push so there was a huge gap left open.

Pit plays well at home and the Ravena can't play on the road this year. Add tonthe fact this defense looks completely spent, this is going to be ugly. An 11, 13 & 16 play drive this defense gave up, mostly on the ground. They had little pressure, even when they did get pressure, they could not catch up to a quaterback who runs 5.5 in the 40..... But hey, the team will tell you this team is close....
-
No, not the one you are thinking of at the end of the game, rather the one that Should have ended the game for the most part. First and goal just outside the five, first play after a big play to Wallace, 4th quarter.... They had been chewing up yards on the ground, first time all year, and they choose to pass... Stupid... Then, 2 inside slants, Joe looks one of them off as he should, to move the linebacker over and leave Pita wide open. It worked perfectly until Joe tried to throw the outer of the 2 inside slants. The very same linebacker he moved over with his look picks it off... He hits the proper man, Pita, touchdown, game over... Marty calls 3 running plays it is either a touchdown or field goal, game over... Never mind that the defense, the supposed number one defense was gutted today, again, gave up huge plays, again, gave up first downs via penalty, or over turned- turnovers because of penalties....again Yes, one play by the defense, Mosely, tipped pass, who was no where to be found today except for a penalty on 3rd down....ends up winning the game, but it goes back to the one play by the offense and what is wrong with it; play calling and execution.

This may be proof the coaches are not very good.... Hester was not good enough because the team did not block for him? Really? I know it is coach speak for a good guy, a player they want to succeed somewhere. But Hester's judgment was the biggest issue, and that had little id anything to do with blocking or injury.
-
True to some extent, but I have to believe his opinion counts as well. Did you see or hear the Pollard interview? Quite damning of Harbs. Though I rarely listen to what former players say about coaches after they are released against their will, and he praises Pees, if we look closely at the games, it is pretty clear Harbs is out coached often...
-
not a surprise he was a waste, I thought the human injury, er, um, Camp was released, if not, he should make one return before he pulls a hammy or breaks a nail...
-
While I highly doubt he goes, I would not mind it at all, bring in Jim Bob Cooter.
-
Oh next up to return kicks? Maybe they bring the over drafted rookie up to give him a shot.
-
Elam, Zuta, Powers?
-
Want to improve? Get rid of Powers, sign the hot dog vender, he/she has to be better in coverage. Get rid of who ever thought bringing in Hester was a good idea, I don't care who it was. Get rid of anyone who fails to hold these players accountable for penalties & missed assigments. Enough is enough. Then get rid of those players who continue to do so, over and over again, cap be damned. Then get a real offensive coordinator and line coach; enough is enough with inconsistant play calling and the inability to run the ball. That is a start and if we say it is too early to start doing this, just look at the Rams who fired their over due coach 4 days before a short week game. It can be done, it must be done or this team is doomed to be the Rams, the Browns....
-
They choose not to run because they cannot. This line can't even give Joe time to get to his 2nd read when there is a 3 man rush. They get no push off the line at all, thus their perennial struggles on 3rd and 4th and one. They are stuck between a power and finess blocking line because of the many oc's and their way of drafting. Even Stanley is not a power run blocker. Thus, even when teams drop 8 in coverage, the Ravens still cannot run. They can't do screens, can't run draws. I will repeat, this is not a playoff team, this is not a team that can go on a run if they get into the playoffs. The line is terribly inconsistant and the secondary is horrible. Mostly just bad players, but some of it is on the inconsistent rush from the defensive line. All making the playoffs will do is fool this front office into thinking they are close and cost a higher draft spot.
-
Because the Ravens cannot run the ball.
-
6-0 against #1 defenses at home, 7-1 all time against the Ravens in NE, Ravens can't run the ball, this could be ugly...

Hogan and those ofher scatt, quick twitch receivers, dangerous bunch. Was last week a fluke against an unprepared, low energy team or was it truly the monster awakening?
