  1. Sorry, all I hear is what one would hear when an adult is talking in a Charlie Brown cartoon; blah, blah, blah.... http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Steve-Bisciottis-Letter-To-Ravens-Fans/ca17b5f3-674f-4fbe-ac4c-d47927eb04ba
  2. Personally, I think he originally should ave gotten a year, send a message; even if they didn't see the tape, they had his confession, they had part of the tape, it was clear what happened. Now, by back tracking, I sure hope the union does their lazy part and fights for 1) Wes Welker and Josh Gordon to be reinstated and 2) fights for Ray given the points I outlined; he already paid THEIR price. Oh and I doubt I will watch the game thursday, not that it will make one ioda difference. But just as baseball chased me away, a person who as a young boy used to keep game books as games were played, who played through highschool, the NFl is chasing me away. I doubt I will miss seeing the game thursday, I am sure there is a college game on one of the chanels....
  3. I have to get this off my chest, no better place than here. Why is it Ray has to pay not once, not twice, but three times for making one mistake? 1) being suspended two games, 2) being cut from the team, 3) being kicked out of the league essentially. A mistake he made while drunk, a mistake he has done everything thus far to make up for? Has shown contrition has done everything his wife has asked, the courts have ordered, the team and league have mandated? Why? Why? When the Owner, GM, President and Coach of this supposedly great organization said, after he told them exactly what happened, stood in front of the media and said; "we don't give up on our players, we stand behind Ray, he made a mistake." The video proves what he told them, yet now, when their bottom line MIGHT be affected, they give up on him? This is what a great organization does? Goes back on their word? This is not about a player declining and needing to dump salary. This is about perceived media and fan scrutiny and saving money on their bottom line. This on top of a supposedly great league whose comish said to another player caught with a drug test; "You should have known". So the comish who said he holds him self and the owners above the players, to a higher standard; "Goody, you DID KNOW!" Yeah, keep sinking your money into a crooked league, rooting for a hypocritical& owner all of who DID KNOW, only now do they give up on good people, a good person who made a mistake. A big one, yes, thankfully she didn't get killed when she fell and hit her head, many a necks have been broken that way. Meanwhile, several other players who DID KILL some one, were or will be back in the league in short order. psssst, end rant
  4. Or when the team either lied or is completely incompetent...........
  5. Fans by & large are sheepales, the majority of them will get over this as soon as the team gets a win, others, a bit longer. Afterall, look at boxing fans who fork out hundreds to watch Maywether fight and how many times has he gone to jail, been sued for abusing women? Fans don't care....they just react.
  6. So, the Ravens say what Rice described to them back in Feb was exactly as the video showed. They felt they could not get the video for legal and moral issues, so they never saught it out....... So, why is it they released him now and not in Feb? idiots.......... & spen stick around buddy....
  7. For the people saying Ray is a devil, Janay is speaking up for him on her instagram account. One time offense does not make one a monster. Food for thought since most of you are drinker. The cowboys defensive tackle, Brent? got 10 games suspension for drunk driving and killing some when he crashed. Isn't that worse than nocking out a women who ended up with little to no injuries? Shouldn't drunk driving have the same penalties? or worse?
  8. I agree, no matter what actually went down with the video, he looks very bad either way. Goody needs to go,
  9. No, she knew ot should have known there was video cameras in public places, so the casino can do as they wish with those tapes. Unfortunately, domestic violence victims are treated as evidence, not as humbeings.
  10. Knowing the lengths the league goes to vet players before the draft, how deep they went into the Mike Vick scandal, the Ray Lewis situation, I do not believe the league when they claim they did not see the vid before it was released.
  11. Fox is now reporting that "sources" claim representatives from the NFL went to the casino to view the tape, but never requested a copy...... http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/ray-rice-assault-nfl-never-asked-for-tape-baltimore-ravens-rb-punching-fiancee-090914
  12. How about the posecutors who actually charged Janay!
  13. Wow, something must have happened both with him and along the defensive line. Maybe an injury during practice, maybe an off the field issue that is about to come to light.......... This team is not making very sound, or clear decisions this year.
  14. Oh you will be safe as long as you ignore the insults, just like we had to do during the Ray Lewis incident. Easier said than done though, even for us old timers with a pep in our step....
  15. This will only go way when the NFL & the Ravens explain why either they viewed the tape before yesterday and did nothing or why they did not try & view the tape. Only then will this go way. I think for certain, this team is going to be completely distracted a & flat thursday, and get destroyed by Pit. I hope I am wrong.... and, there will be protesters all around the stadium, some inside the stadium this week and maybe the week after, hough the 10 day layoff will help some. The timing was perfect froma news stand point. This week would have been Ray's last week of suspension- 2 games in one week. With a 10 day layoff, the best thing to do is let it out there the first week of the NFL season when it will be the most distracting, casue the most "trouble" for the league.
  16. I can answer the first two. TMZ, according to them, and they are not the most reputable source, went to the casino and asked for the tape- they were gven it by the casino, not a rogue employee, according to them. 2) No, the casino closing had nothing to do with it, they have not said why they waited until now, but I have a good suspicion.
  17. Excellant post sir, excellant. As I said yesterday, unless the tem and the league explain to my satisfaction, I will be done with both of them. I know, I won't be alone.
  18. That is the thing; he has already and continues ot be getting counseling. It is not as if this is a new case, it is the same one, everything has already been, so why are the Ravens and league reacting like this now? Because of public pressure. They knew as soon as the tape came out there would be picket lines at every NFl stadium for the foreseable future. That is the only reason, and being the only reason, both moves are wrong. Though i do agree he should have been suspended for a year, I don't think the cutting of him nor of the indefinate suspension are in order since he already has met any and all counseling the league would mandate to get back into the league. This stinks, and I am not talking about what Ray did now, but rather what the Ravens & league are doing.
  19. Did she lie? She may have "started" the arguement that lead to this entire thing. We see in the video before they get on that they are already having issues, for what ever reason. Then when they get on, she says something, we don't know what, she slaps at him but he slaps her first. Then she attempts to hit when he decks her, causing her o hit her hea on the rail. This entire thing is what they both could hae and likely did tell to the NFL and to the Ravens. Since Ray's defense team had the tape, there is no reason, after he took the plea and the case closed, for the team and the league, NOT to look at the tape before sentencing Ray to two games just to see that he was telling the truth and how bad it will look WHEN the tape COMES OUT! So either they did see it and tried to sweep it under the rug, or did not even attempt to see, taking him at his word. If the later and they are just reacting now based on the outcry, then the union has to step in and stop the year long suspension. There is no new evidence since they knew what was on the tape, and even under the new rules, this is his first offense and should only be out 6 games. The only area of new evidence I can see is if both Ray and Jenay lied, telling a completely different story than was on the tape, thus the tape now being new, correct evidence and his lie, combined with the tape, is what triggered the indefinate suspension. Since neither the league nor Ravens are talking, we may never know.
  20. Too funny, ESPN has been railing on Rice, the Ravens all day. What commercial comes up during this game? His carr max commercial....
  21. To be expected since they now don't have to worry about Rice's roster spot next week and need to carry four backs.
  22. Mort has reported that the Prosecutor did have the tape, but refused to turn it over. That the defense team for Ray, also had the tape.... So how come neither the Ravens nor the league had it, sure, sure they didn't. this tinks to high heavens, that is why Biscutt is mad, he knows we aint dumb.
  23. If we look closely at things, listen carefully, we can always find the truth hidden in the darkness. There is no way, as many on ESPN have said and I agree, that the NFL, with all its connections in law enforcement, nor the Ravens, with Biscutts connection as a BILLIONair...... did not see the video, none. Jameson Winsley reported, on ESPN this afternoon that he reached out to the organization early in the day, before they cut him, and ask if there were any plans to make a move on Rice since the video had come out. Their response was no, no changes...... Only after they gauged the respone not just by the public, but by many, many NFL players, current, who wanted Rice out of the league, did they make the move. This tells us plain & simple, they all, the NFL, Ray, his wife (perhaps coerced by the millions) and the Ravens tried to cover this up. If they did, (it will eventually come out) this tells us they all must be stupid to think the video would not come out. Maybe they thought it had been destroyed since that casino was closed down, who knows. Either way, just having Harbs hold a five minute or less press conference and say nothing, leaves me feeling a little sick about this team, this organization. Iv'e said it before, Goody is going to chase me away from the NFL, me, a 48 year old man who has watched, studied, loved the game all my life. What I have found over the years, is that my opinion is largely, not alone.
  24. Good thing they freed up cap space just before this came out, eerrr, ummm, before the season started....................................
  25. Their fall back & that of the Ravens is that they did not see the video and Ray & his wife lied to them all..... hmmm The union can't step in, can they, black eye for sure....
