  1. Pittsburgh is looking at Okung as well.
  2. He's an UFA, right? 31-years old too. I would pass, don't want to give up the comp pick.
  3. @RichDubroffCSN: No update on Matt Wieters other than Buck Showalter said he felt a little better, was examined by team physicians. #Orioles https://twitter.com/richdubroffcsn/status/709002314615529473
  4. The formula does not include performance or incentives. TT had a small contract.
  5. It will be interesting to see if Ozzie signs another unrestricted free agent and gives up the potential third round compensation pick from KO. Remember, compensation picks become tradable next year, so that makes the pick even more valuable. My guess is we stick to players that have already been cut.
  6. I also don't blame him because two out of three years we've had a terrible running game. Sure, the running game was awesome under Kubiak in 2014, but we had that whole system mess in 2013 with Caldwell vs Castillo, then last season we brought in a pass happy Trestman. The more I think about this, the more I understand KO.
  7. Sounds like he's mad the Ravens wouldn't make him the highest paid guard in the league. KO was one of my favorite players here. Happy for him that he got what he was looking for.
  8. Ouch. What is Ozzie doing? The Ravens in the past prided itself on not resorting to this... The only thing I can think of is the Ravens are setting up their cap to coincide with Flacco's prime years. Maybe we are kicking the can down the road four years at which point we are looking at a total rebuild with lots of dead money.
  9. I have no problem with the miles and age. Watson is one of those physical freaks. My concern is he appears to be a system player. He was a great weapon in New Orleans, but is he a fit for our offense? He was rather forgettable in Cleveland. Jimmy Graham wasn't nearly as effective after being traded from New Orleans. So I don't know the answer to that question.
  10. We are desparate. Gilmore had labrum surgery on both shoulders. Maxx Williams isn't exactly Mr. Durable. http://espn.go.com/espn/now?nowId=21-0494560270622921978-4
  11. Top 20 pick? Sure. Top six pick? No way!
  12. http://walterfootball.com/prospectMeetings/byteam Keep an eye on this list. Ravens usually draft guys they interviewed at the combine. Note: no meetings with Hargreaves or Treadwell.
  13. Agreed on Stanley. I will be very disappointed if we take him.
  14. This move means we are not signing any other unrestricted free agents. Ozzie will not lose that third round compensation pick that KO is going to bring in (we still have to hope that someone signs Upshaw, which will cancel out the Watson signing; Colts are the favorites for Upshaw). Anyone else we bring in will be someone who has been cut this offseason.
  15. Watson is a different skill set than Maxx Williams or Crockett Gilmore. I love his athleticism and YAC ability. Unusual move by the Ravens however. Signing an unrestricted free agent coming off of a career year on the first day of free agency. Hard not to think that we are "buying high". Watson to me has seemed like a system guy his whole career. Trestman is good at utilizing tight-ends so this might be a good fit. The contract is only two years for $8M. Guess that means Pitta is done. I also wonder if this signals anything about Gilmore's shoulder?
  16. I like Rickards a lot as well. While this may bump him out of the lineup, I think the move assures he makes the roster. He can play all three outfield positions very well. Who knows, with injuries he could see time. There's a also a chance that Kim, Trumbo and/or Alvarez doesn't produce. Rickards could be our lead off guy some point during the season. Alvarez is terrible against lefties. Rickards could be our lead off guy against lefties. I hate that we have to bat Machado lead off.
  17. Orioles sign Pedro Alvarez. I remember we liked him a lot coming out of the draft (same draft at Matusz). More of the same though, good power but terrible on base. Who's going to bat second for us? I am now worried about the right field defense.
  18. Go Hoosiers!
  19. I don't know if there's that sort of demand to watch Ravens practices like with the Cowboys or LA Rams. The Castle is by far still one of the nicest facilities in the league.
  20. Dead money would only be for one season in the event of a trade or being cut. Two seasons most with a June 1 cut designation.
  21. It's an enormous contract, no doubt. The way I look at it we had three options: 1. Restructure Flacco's deal 2. Trade/Cut Flacco, and draft Weintz/Goff. Lots of cap room in 2017. 3. Trade/Cut Flacco, try to sign a guy like Ryan Fitzpatrick for a smaller deal and reinvest in the rest of the team. Lots of cap room in 2017. What is the right answer? I don't know, but I certainly do not like option 3. Option 2 is a crapshoot.
  22. I actually hope we give Elam one last shot. Leslie Frazier is a top notch secondary coach. I am interested to see if he can help Elam.
  23. Elam was just a bad pick nothing to do with development. I am hopeful on Mosley but he has limitations that coaching can only help so much. Teams exposed Mosley more in coverage his second year. Remember, Zach Martin was the guy the Ravens wanted but the Cowboys took him.
  24. Clarence Brooks has been the Ravens defensive line coach since 2005 (he's now a special defensive assistant due to his health problems). Many of us wish Brooks was the DC over Pees. Joe Cullen is the full time defensive line coach now. He has an extensive résumé as a defensive line coach as well. Yes, the coaching is there to develop defensive linemen.
  25. Jack is not an OLB in a 3-4 defense. He's being promoted as a weak side OLB in a 4-3. A run and hit type guy who can use his speed. In a 3-4 he would be a weak side ILB. I don't think he'd be a great fit with Mosley. Mosley doesn't like taking on guards and would struggle as the strongside Mike. Although, that is Mosley's problem and Jack is an excellent player. Jack would likely relieve Mosley of pass coverage duties in passing situations. He could be our pick.
