  1. Scratch what I said, the county police department just said that the investigation is not criminal. Still looks fishy to me.
  2. Yes that is impossible to prove, but Stewart has to provide some explanation why he revved his engine right before hitting the guy when the caution flag was up. Legal charges or not, I'm sure there will be a civil suit.
  3. I thought the same thing as well, but my wife who is from Indy and grew up watching NASCAR said it's normal for drivers to get out like that, which is why the caution flag goes up. Not disagreeing with you, just pointing out that this was not an un-ordinary event for the drivers.
  4. Wow I'm speechless by this whole thing. This has to be considered manslaughter right? Like DC, I have an uneducated eye, but if the reports are true, and Stewart revved his engine, then charges at least have to be filed. Obviously there wasn't intent to kill, but if it can be proven that Stewart saw the man, accidental manslaughter would be in play, right? My impression from the Deadspin article is that Stewart didn't anticipate the car drifting right when he hit the gas. Seems like he was just trying to scare the guy and go right by him.
  5. If it wasn't me it would have been papa
  6. La Canfora is still a little bit of a homer, but not nearly as bad as some of our other local guys. La Canfora lives in Baltimore and is frequently tweeting from Orioles games. He's definitely a Ravens fan.
  7. http://m.espn.go.com/extra/ncaa/story?storyId=11327445&src=desktop&rand=ref~%7B%22ref%22%3A%22https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2F%22%7D The ACC can shove it.
  8. I don't know too much about the legality but with the Power 5 being granted more autonomy, didn't that save the NCAA? It looks like we were moving more toward what the court ruling you posted with the conferences being given autonomy.
  9. I bet Lackey complains about Cruz and steroids again. The bats are on fire! Caleb Joseph is making is forget about Matt Wieters real quick! Joseph had a great year in Bowie last year. He's always been regarded as a good hitting prospect. Looks like he's taking to hitting instruction well and elevating his game even more. The defense (50% of runners thrown out, low pitching ERA) has been a big surprise! Not the best start from Jiminez, but he still went six and got the quality start.
  10. I hope we kill Lackey today. The guy is a major douche.
  11. For a guy who came from an FBS program, I still think it is encouraging the performance he had versus the second and third units of the Niners. Most of those guys out there came from big time college programs. Hopefully he gets some first team reps.
  12. I think Campanero is a lock given we traded a draft pick for him and he has a skill set that we don't have. I see the final spot coming down to Aiken or Butler. Aiken is not practice squad eligible. Whoever can play special teams between these two guys could be a deciding factor. I'm not sure if Butler would make it to the practice squad without getting snatched by another tram. I could see Campanero or Butler go on the IR with a mystery injury.
  13. If our second and third unit offensive line looked as bad as it did the 49ers have a lot to be concerned about for their second and third unit defensive line. We still ran all over them.
  14. http://touch.baltimoresun.com/#section/822/article/p2p-81025340/ This is huge. I was listening to the Fan this morning and they stated this is the first time in MLB history a team has ever had an injunction against the league. Furthermore, the consulting group that came up with the formula for the rights fees for the initial contract gave an affidavit in this case in favor of the O's. All documents filed by the Nats and MLB have to become public which is absolutely not what Selig wanted. We'll have to see how this whole thing turns out, but so far this is a major black eye for Selig and the MLB. Initially, this looks like the Nats and MLB are crying over spilled milk and Selig is trying to cover his tracks on a bad deal he made. One more point made by the Fan. The Nats are still in the top 10 in television revenue. Their rights fees are low but they are receiving a large amount of their revenue from their equity in MASN and the company's profits. According to the Fan, rights fees are subject to MLB shared revenue, equity in your television network is not. Most teams do not own their own television network and have sold to either Comcast or Fox Sports. Seems like the MLB and the "fair council" composing of the Mets, Pirates, and Rays that Selig setup have ulterior motives. Angelos has been a frustrating owner to be a fan of in the past, but we have to be glad to have a guy who doesn't lose in court on our side right now. If this deal holds up, the Orioles financial future is very good.
  15. It's only preseason, but imagine how much we'd all be complaining if Joe and the offense had a couple of three and outs instead?
  16. Huge series win! The combination of Miller, O'Day and Britton is really something special.

  18. Another series win! Sure the bats are cold but we are winning games through this tough stretch when most teams would be skidding. The bats can't stay cold forever.
  19. It's fun to hate on Brady but you cannot deny the guy's passion for the game. http://m.espn.go.com/wireless/story?storyId=11300462
  20. Agree to disagree then.
  21. I agree with papa, not really the impression I get. I think more so Pees is concerned with the fact that the third corner position has been so bad that Darian Stewart has had to fill in at the third corner spot with Jeremy Miles taking over at FS. Don't think his comments had much to do about Elam.
  22. Pretty revealing quote: says a lot about our current free safety situation outside of Hill. Think we have our new starting FS. http://touch.baltimoresun.com/#section/-1/article/p2p-80981666/
  23. Starting pitching has been spectacular since the break.
  24. Ironically I saw this in the news today: http://www.salon.com/2014/07/24/detroits_pension_disgrace_a_gaudy_new_stadium_at_retirees_expense_partner/ Glad to see Detroit has their priorities straight.
  25. Gotcha, we are on the same page I agree. I also think part of it is the astronomical rise in construction costs and the added luxuries of modern day stadiums. I'm not sure if cities are paying less dollar wise, but they are just not paying for the whole project, as you mentioned.
