The D returned for the night ! Granted against Matt Moore, still, nice defensive effort. They play well when pissed off !
-
Jettison the remaining 48 guys huh ?

Max the offense is deplorable . It's absolutely horrendous to watch. Some have said it's as bad as the infamous 2000 offense . It's much worse. In fact to repeat an old Shannon Sharpe movie analogy, I'd say the 2000 offense is like the Titanic and this current offense is like Dude, where's my car ? !!!

Its way beyond my comprehension as to where to begin. However, I'd start with FO - new GM, HC, OC and DC. After that domino falls, I'd align my talent around the coaching style - e.g. young, innovative coach, etc. Either way, I'd fix the debacle that is our offense and insure my next HC/OC are in cahoots (but non-buddies), forward thinkers, and in touch with todays college/professional athletes. If we do that, we are headed in a direction that we haven't seen in a long time.

I wonder what the Biscuit's performance plan for Ozzie and Harbaugh looks like over the past 4 to 5 years. And I wonder what happened to the biscuits proclamation of being Built as a Super Bowl contender -not just a playoff team - for the next five years. When are the words and results going to align ?
-
That's the sort of talent we've whiffed on for the past 10- 15 years. Why don't you apply for the next GM or assistant ?

In this National Parity League and especially this year, there's little difference between the upper and lower echelon. The winless New York Giants just blew out Denver in their house. Jax did same to Pittsburgh in their house. The league is so watered down. That said, its too bad we don't have a competitive team this year. Instead, we will grind it out with the Indys and Browns, while being handled easily by the Pittsburgh and Minnesota - not that either is that good. We just stink. I'd rather end up 5-11 or 6-10 (more likely) with a top 10 pick, than go 8-8 or 7-9 and get a top 15-20 pick. If were going to tank it, tank it big time, get rid of the baggage, rebuild the offense and reprogram the FO (not in that order). The sooner we can fix the FO, GM and coaching, and stockpile young talent with 2-3 years of solid drafts (something we haven't seen in several years), the sooner we become relevant again. Its 1996 and 2008 all over again. Ugliness for a couple of years - see SF 49ers (although they've been close in a few games) but they'll turn that ship around. Watch them in about 2 years or less.

Nepotism - yep, its a slippery slope in any workplace.

Or the planets are beginning to align- a la Billick era - about 10 years ago.

Which 3 are better ? Just curious.

No worries Papa. Relief is forthcoming. Not soon enough, but it will come. Probably 2019 or 2020 when we get out from under Joe's contract and we have a new GM and HC. Until then, its sit back and lament over more < mediocrity ball.

So, Bears got plenty of rest the day before

Max, you nailed it - losing formula. That's what we've got. The Vikes are going to be all over Joe's arse next Sunday. He better hand the ball off 50 times or he'll be sitting in the infirmary next to ARodgers. -

It's embarrassing Max! How does the Biscuit put up with this ? Is he watching this stuff or playing on his IPhone ? I mean we just played about the worst team in football against a rookie QB. -

This team is really putting up unprecedented defeats these days. Against a rookie QB in our stadium ? -
Yep, It's a .500 team at best.
-
Well, we were who we thought we were. And it came down to a last possession against a rookie QB playing his first game on the road.
-
Yep, another close one. Could come down to final possession. Sound familiar ?
-
Well Wyatt, we need you. Now.

Did they mean the 4th best in AFCN ?
-
With all of our needs on offense, he's probably a luxury we cannot afford to draft. . I love watching the Fournettes dominate the opposing team like this past Sunday in Pittsburgh. Call me old school, but I'd still like a hammer in our backfield - something we haven't had since No. 31.

Anyone know his status; expected return date?

krf82- good post. fwiw- I think Joe and the O have a helluva long way to go; hence the decision to start conservative in 2nd half. To your point, we aren't going to win many games or any games against good teams by playing conservative. Fortunately, we were playing a Carr-less Raider team and could afford to do so. Looking ahead, maybe this team - both offense and defense - can improve and play consistently well week to week (and that's a big IF). When and if it gets to that level of play, you'd like to see this team put its collective foot on the opposing team's throat and put em' away. The last team I saw do this was the 2000 SB team. I think this team has quite a ways to go but it would be great to see - sooner than later.
