  1. Ummmmm, you gotta be kidding me right?
  2. So you came up with 5 instances of Ed being out of position? Ed played 18 games last year. You also don't know what Ed's responsibility on the play was. Was Ed supposed to be there or is he making up ground because someone else was supposed to be there. To further solidify my point, if Ed was so out of position all the time, why o why did he not give up a TD? If the mark of a great cover safety is INT's why o why have the really great one's had some really low INT years? Neither question addressed. The fact remains, when you're good QB's like to stay away as often as possible.
  3. Honestly....you are mind numbing sometimes. lol Yes....I'm claiming that 100% of the time Ed was not thrown to. I'm very confused how he even got his interceptions in the first place.
  4. Very true, him and Travis as well! lol
  5. Having some WRs that can gain separation will be huge for Joe and Boldin both. It will create more room for Boldin to do what he does and that's find seams. And I'm gonna beat this to death, throw a damn WR screen to Boldin!!!!! hahaha The guy is big and can stiff arm the crap out of smaller DB's. Maybe no one is playing off him anymore, maybe it's just not there?
  6. I concur! lol Absolutely. I have very little to say in regards to this teams ability to find players with the exception of getting a decent WR. It seems they may have finally gotten that monkey off their back.
  7. Ed was not thrown to last year. The ball was never in his area, QB's completely avoided him. This happens to guys that are good at what they do. No passing TDs allowed. If Int's are the only measure of a DB's ability you are woefully uninformed about football. Once again, Ed isn't the Ed of old, but Ed is still one a top 3 safety in the game. Especially in coverage. Deion Sanders had a measly 2 Int's three years straight in his prime. Because QB's avoided him. Darrelle Revis had no Int's in 2010 and only 4 last year. Int's used only by itself is not an appropriate indication of what a player is capable of in the defensive backfield. Once again I'm sure you'll disregard and concentrate on something obscure as a reasoning for justification.
  8. Ahhhh yes, Double D. I still can't believe that guy didn't work out. His story, everything that he overcame, he seemed destined to be a great football player.
  9. Ok, we should just cut him then, or better yet. Let's demand that he be in camp and practice like a 25 yr old. That works for most of the vets in the league. Better yet, let's trade him, there's tons of teams looking for an aging safety. Let's not mention the leadership that I know Ed displays. Let's not discuss the knowledge that I absolutely know Ed is passing to the other DB's. Let's not talk about the fact that QB's still completely avoid Ed like the plague. Let's not talk about the fact that Ed keeps coming up big when it matters most. Let's not talk about that Ed recorded the most tackles he's had since 2006. Let's not talk about the fact that he still had 10 passes defended and a sack. Let's not also review that I remember watching him drop 4-5 Int's. He get's 3 of em and this isn't a conversation. Let's also overlook that Ed had an Int and 6 passes defended in the playoffs. Finally let's not talk about the fact that he didn't allow a defensive passing TD against him. Now, I'll say that Ed certainly is slower, and certainly he can't play the run the way he used to, but in what realm is Ed not worth keeping around? I've already stated that I wouldn't give him an extension and from here on out I would only sign him a year maybe two at a time. He's definitely got some football left.
  10. I don't know, Ed is still picking off passes. Granted he doesn't look as explosive as he used to, but he's still creating turnovers. He's no where near the run support guy he used to be. I miss seeing him on the Punt team, watching him block punts was a thing of beauty. He was so quick. I actually remember Ed as a Hurricane in one of his last games, he littery ran up to his own guy ripped the ball out of his hands and returned it for a TD. It was histerical. Ed was just in another gear, like he was playing with his kids in the backyard.
  11. You're probably right because he always comes to play and he's always in shape.
  12. Ed feels disrespected for whatever reason and it's nonsense. We paid him and unfortunately, he became injury prone. We're not going to extend a 30 something injury prone safety. It is not the Raven's fault that Ed has not planned for this day properly. I'd like to have Ed retire a Raven but he's got to get his head on straight first.
  13. This is great news. I remember this guy never dropping a ball during preseason, just one catch after another. I was wondering what it was that was keeping him off the field. I do have high expectations for him this year. Reminds me a little of......dare I say it..........Hin......I just can't say it lol.
  14. I just gotta a feeling that after that last drive by NE Joe and this offense have finally turned a page. It may be the tinted glasses I'm wearing lol. I just think that Joe has really demonstrated some awesome comebacks last year and he was on the cusp of something special. Now, he did have some eggs, no doubt, but the games against NE and Pitt just have me thinking that he's ready to take that next step. I even thought he played well against SF, not making the errant throw against a very tough D.
  15. Ngata seems like a guy with a great work ethic and determination to be a great player. I imagine that he'll be ready to go. I wonder how bad that contusion was if it's lead to him not being able to work out the past few months.
  16. I never said they were smart lol. As a matter of fact for alot of guys, to play this game, being smart is not a good thing.
  17. They think it makes them quicker and more agile. It's like a hiker shedding weight. I don't think it's about proving anything. In any professional game, inches and details make all the difference.
  18. Hard to disagree with that. I'd like to see what this defense can do with a healthy Ngata late in the year. It seems like the guy always has to play through injury late in the year dramatically reducing his effectiveness. I'd like to see him with a pep in his step late in the season.
  19. No you don't, you say whatever comes to mind that disagrees with another post or common thinking. You're not thorough in your thoughts and you shoot from the hip. Then you get worked over and you chose to ignore the topic at hand and you bring something else up. Usually, you get worked over on that too. I'm sure you have some valid points and you seem like a smart person but your thoughts are all over the place and if something doesn't go your way you divert rather than say, "I didn't think of that, or I see your point".
  20. There's the crav I know. And.........I concur.
  21. What team in the league is perfectly filled with depth at every position? So far, we're on track and looking good.
  22. No obviously we know that we missed on them. What you just fail to want to acknowledge as you always do is that you're wrong. The high priced guys you talk about were signed during "your man Shack's" era. Hmmmmm. In any case, it has been brought up routinely that 50/50 is acceptable especially for the guys that we target. We're filling holes. Every team in the league has to fill holes and we do a pretty damn good job of that. I would like to address all three of your previously mentioned guys: Searcy: Would have been a good pickup, was there a way to previously know that he would have torn his tricep while training with us? McNair: Did what he was supposed to do. He was a stop gap at QB, an attempt to take a good team to the SB. The result, a 13-3 season. How is that not successful? The playoff was rough, but the team we lost to won the Super Bowl. Grbac: Was there a way to know that a QB coming off a pro bowl was going to cry on the field? If so please enlighten us with you introspective ways. More importantly, please apply for a front office job with the Ravens. And to summarize I would like to reiterate that these guys were picked up when you said we were better at picking up FAs. Are we supposed to never miss?
  23. As far as Cam goes, I hope Harbs is telling him to add more wrinkles to the offense. There were a few articles talking about how vanilla we were last year. However......we did play in the AFC championship game, and we were a dropped pass from the Super Bowl.
  24. And I'm sure people like Papa would be the first to stand up if a guy got injured for hitting in the Mini camps. I'm sure instead it would be, "Why would Harbaugh have these guys hitting so early?"
  25. My pop warner coach had us do that! I'm surprised he was able to get away with it. I must have played pop warner in 88 or so.
