I'm gonna say it, we should have kept Zorn and fired Cam
yagersports replied to yagersports's topic in Baltimore Ravens
No first downs until midway through the 3rd quarter is not irrational. Cam is proving that he's definitely far below average. How many OC's have that happen in their career and are successful? Not at all irrational, it's the truth. I'm obviously beingfacetious saying my son could be the OC. What I'm getting at is Cam is terrible, that's been proven. Give someone else an opportunity. Why continue to move on with terrible. -
We are one of the only teams in which the QB and OC absolutely hate each other. The difference between us and those other teams with the same problem is that we have talent and the ability to go to and win a Super Bowl. Screw Cam, he's had his opportunities and failed miserably. Art Shell, Mike Tice, Spurrier, and even Marty Morniwheg could gameplan like that! My point is, you can guys like that. At least give someone else the opportunity to be slightly below average. Cam is just abysmal.

What does it matter who calls the gameplan. Let my son do it! I'm quite certain he's capable of what Cam did this past Sunday. It doesn't matter who is back there, they'll at least do as inept a job. -

My point being is that this is rock bottom. I don't believe Cam has what it takes to win this offensive unit back. The negatives of losing Cam as a coordinator will be made up with the positives of giving the offensive players hope that they can control their destiny. That something will be done. -
Screw pursuing players. We need to pursue an OC. I'm gonna bang this drum for the rest of the season. We made a mistake not canning him in January. Despite the lockout it still should have been done. You can't cry over spilled milk, but we can certainly clean it up! We don't have to let it sit there and curdle.

Agreed because his little comment about I'm a top 5 QB is a bit of a laugher right now!

If things get worse we'll fire cam? Look around, we're at the threshold of hell! Lol (anybody know that movie?) Honestly it can't get worse, Cam has lost this team. No first downs until the 3rd quarter! Anyone can do that, even someone else without OC experience. -

I understand the ramifications of firing an OC mid season, however we are going to limp into the playoffs at best right now. Can our QB coach (do we have one?), WR coach, or RB coach really not accomplish the same thing? I believe that whatever perceived dropoff will occur by not havig Cam around will be made up by the empowerment the players will hopefully feel once he's gone. We're not winning the Super Bowl with this guy, it's unfortunate. I am an optimist and I'd rather look forward the the opportunities without Cam than the constant BS with him. Surely someone can run the offense with equal abysmal ineptitude! I'm quite certain I can ensure a team does not get a first down until the third quarter! Lol -
I wasn't sure whether I should read this or not, but lol lol lol lol lol Nice!!!!!!! Heard we're trading for Boller too! :-)

Can't agree more Crav. I was screaming at the TV....then I was jumping for joy....then I was leaving the bar without my pride! lol

Supposedly he just got the wind knocked out of him. I read that somewhere today. CBS I think.

Why wait until the end of the season. Why give the players the impression that nothing will be done and it's a wasted season. At least empower them to feel like they can attempt to control their own destiny. Give them something to play for because Cam certainly is not doing that. It's clear by the body language of every player on offense. They hate this guy. -
It's clear to me that Zorn was the guy getting the most out of Flacco. Cam just doesn't have the respect of confidence of Flacco and the offense. Harbaugh made a poor choice. Not sure if it could really get any worse, I think we should dismiss Cam immediately. He doesn't want to commit to the run and he doesn't want to commit to being Flacco's mentor. Hell, truthfully I don't think he really wants to commit to Flacco. This is all speculative of course based on comments in news articles, message boards, and the body language I see Joe and Cam exhibit towards each other. We need a change very quickly and I'm not convinced that Cam is the guy to do it. I'm ready to move on without him because I don't think we'll be winning much no matter what this guy does. He's probably capable, but I don't believe that anyone in the Baltimore offense believes in this guy. Let's move on. Someone that believes me: http://sports.yahoo.com/top/news?slug=ycn-10283601

It's really too bad for Palmer, I like him as a football player and person. He'd be a Super Bowl champion I have no doubt if he didn't get hit in the knee. He was lights out that year and that Bengal team looked so very good. NFL is a so unforgiving!

It's not about getting anyone that improves the defense. The more they work together and get to know this defensive coordinator, the more they're excelling. Each week I see something new from this defense and each week I'm impressed. I think there's tons of growth on it's way from this defense. There's also some young guys that are only going to see their playing time increase each week. I like what they're doing.
-
This defense is back, and I don't yet believe we've seen their best play. Not by a long shot.
-
To be fair, us missing a rookie corner and a career nickel corner isn't really like missing a premier DE/OLB like Williams. Just being fair. Evans also, while good, does not equal Andre Johnson. However the Texans don't beat us even at full strength. Our defense is too much for them and they caught some breaks with us kicking some FGs.

Mason is a tough player with a lot of passion for the game. It's unfortunate that he has not seen the forest through the trees this year. He had a great opportunity with the Jets.
-
It's refreshing to see a young receiver step up when we need him! I sincerely hope that we can get Evans on the field, however I think it's prudent that we simply wait till later in the season to deploy him. It'd be nice to have our two speedsters available late in the season. Grubbs, it's just very disappointed and I'm sure he's more frustrated than we are.

The list goes on and on too: Tom Brady Phillip Rivers Matthew Stafford (New entry this year) Ben Roethlisberger Drew Brees A couple of other guys that I feel are on Joes level: Ryan Fitzpatrick Eli Manning Matt Hasselbeck Those guys are using new receivers every year too. The difference, those guys are throwing to those receivers. Boldin doesn't get the ball enough period. Joe needs to walk to the line, look at Boldin when the CB is playing off and just change the play. WR screen Boldin, 1st down. Things like that need to improve if Joe wants to be at the level that he says he's at. Joe's 69 completions are just a few above Henne for cryin out loud. If you're a top 5 QB, you blow Henne out of the water.
-
Joe really shouldn't need to get "on the same page" with his receivers so much as he's got to make better decisions. He has to own this offense. I don't want to make many more excuses for a QB that is in his 4th year. However he wins and he doesn't turn the ball over. I like Joe, I want him to be the man, he's got to grab the reins and be that guy. I think often Joe gets gun shy and doesn't want to throw passes when he should. I've posted before, Flacco has got to take a few chances and let the receivers make some plays. He needs to be more balanced in that department. I like the conservative nature because when you don't turn the ball over, you greatly increase your team's opportunities to win ball games, that's a fact. See Tony Romo, the guy throws for boat loads of yards but keeps Favrein it at the end. Balance Joe, it's the key to using "The Force" lol.

I don't belive in the 49ers either.....however I didn't believe in the Cardinals and they almost won the Super Bowl! lol

Houston has lost too many key players. Their best wideout (also their best mismatch), their best pass rusher, and as noted their O-Line is banged up. That's not good medicine when the Ravens are your opponent! This team is going to get wiped up Sunday. They're going to ask.....What just hit me?!?!?! We have 2 maybe 3 tough games left on our schedule, this isn't one of them .
