  1. I can agree with that because he can run the ball if needed, he's not one dimensional.
  2. I agree, even having a higher first round pick does not mean we'll be guaranteed a replacement. Sign our proven talent now. Hopefully as someone mentioned earlier, we'll use this as a means of gauging the market and sign him once other teams make offers. We could end up paying alot more for a guy drafted high on the board and he would be unproven. Sign the man, keep Flacco protected and Rice runnin.

  5. I'd rather keep the tackles we've got! How long have we been waiting to have to tackles to shore up our line?!?!?!?! If Leon Searcy worked out, we may have had a different result with the Grbac experiment. Instead we had constant pressure on the QB. Boller and McNair had to deal with the same crap!!! I do not see how getting a first round pick is proper compensation for a team that is looking to win NOW. Please notice my key word "NOW". We have two very good tackles, if Oher is better, so be it, switch the two of them. But I see no reason to either of these guys go, especially since we now have a franchise QB! Honestly...the short memory of some people. We can protect our QB, let's keep it that way. I know issuing the tender doesn't mean he's out of here, but IMHO, keep the guy off the market. We've finally got two offensive tackles that do a great job of run blocking and protecting the QB, let's keep it that way. Also remember, just getting the first round pick does not guarantee we get another tackle as good as Gaither. I do see the risk vs reward scenario, and do understand the logic of the getting a 1st round pick for the guy. However, sometimes......if it's not broke, don't fix it.
  6. Boldin is absolutely the guy we should be targeting. With him and Mason on the field offenses are going to have to respect them both. I like the dynamics they both bring, they both know how to get open and come back to the QB on broken plays. If we combine a young speedster to go with Stallworth we could field a very frightening offense! Stallworth, Mason, Boldin, and Rookie, to go with Rice coming out of the backfield. Joe will have options.
  7. All TO does is catch balls when it doesn't matter. His stats are inflated. When the game is on the line, he drops balls and chokes. Leave this guy with the bottom feeders, this is where he belongs. If we want a true legit WR we're going to have to pony the dough or draft one. I think we should go after Boldin, we can get him at a reasonable price. Pair him with Mason and a rookie. Hopefully the rookie will flourish with the other two on the field. TO is a waste of time. I won't deny his abilities, but who needs them when he has trouble in pressure situations and has been an absolute cancer to teams in the past?
  8. Really???? I know he certainly wasn't good enough on the Ravens to garner the franchise tag. Is he really that good now? His stats don't indicate it. I know stats don't always tell the story, but cmon, franchise for this guy?????
  9. That's like saying the Belichek has nothing to do with the offense in New England. Are the likes of Belichek and Parcells known for defense? Of course they are, however they both have in-depth knowledge of football and certainly put their stamp on offenses as well. Billick definitely had something to do with the defense, there's no way he just put is head in the sand and said, just run it. Billick certainly had an idea of what kind of defense he wanted and hired the coordinators to produce it!
  10. Joe absolutely needs to work the middle of the field. That is the glaring weakness in our offense. After that, I would say we need WRs. There's absolutely no point in obtaining any playmaking receiver if Joe is not going to work the middle of the field. I also don't know if it's necessarily Joe's fault that the middle of the field is being worked. If Cam is calling all sideline routes, how can he? However doesn't the QB have the ability to audible into a better play to take advantage of a defense? I'm thinking that Cam has been calling the sideline plays because of two reasons: 1. I don't think that our receivers run any type of decent route over the middle for Flacco to throw to. I really don't. I don't see our receivers getting seperation and demanding the ball, it just doesn't happen. 2. I don't think Flacco is extremely comfortable throwing the pass over the middle. I think Flacco's strengths are the out and deep ball, of which teams have caught on to. This explains the late season drop in production. Teams were getting film on Flacco's tendencies. I remember watching the Packers game and no one Packer's defender was between the hash marks once the ball was snapped and it was clear Flacco was going to throw. It was ridiculous, but the Pack absolutely knew where Flacco was going with the ball. Joe will need to improve on this if he wants to be a better QB in the league, and I'm sure the coaching staff has addressed this. I like Cam as our offensive coordinator, he calls plays that agree with our strengths and doesn't work outside of the strengths. That's very important, coaches that push the envelope of a players' ability often end up looking very stupid, losing games, and ultimately unemployed. I respect a coach that sticks with what they know and what their team does. Having said that, I am sure that Cam wants our offense to be more dynamic and I am absolutey positive that they are going to work on and fix our one dimensional passing game. One positive I did like about Flacco this year is that he could actually run a no huddle offense. Besides the breif stint by McNair, we all know it's been a very very long time since we've seen that done lol.
  11. I have to say that I'm not sure that DB is a priority. Foxworth has really stepped up and Webb looks like he can be very good. Don't we have Washington coming back as well? Washington is very good as well. I honestly think that we need to rush the passer more effectively and we'll find that our coverage will improve tremendously. On offense, there can be no denying what we need. We absolutely need a playmaking WR. However I really hope that if we pursure that playmaker via free agency, that we don't end up with someone that is the product of a system and not truely gifted. (Azhakim, etc.) It would really suck to pay the money for the guy and end up with just another Mark Clayton. Speaking of him, what a disappointment. He was supposed to be a run after the catch guy and extremely polished as a receiver coming out of college, and has had ample opportunity with multiple QBs to prove he can be something in this league. It's too bad, I really had high hopes for this guy. I do not want to address the WR position throught the draft exclusively. Never a good idea to expect a WR to come in and compete immediately. I certainly think we should draft a couple, but in addition to some sort of free agent acquisition. God forbid we hang our hats on a draft pick and end up with a Heyward-Bey. Not that the guy may not be very special, but he certainly wasn't his rookie season. We need impact sooner rather than later as this team can win now.
  12. Wow, Harbs kinda reminds of Cowher. His energy and the way he relates to his players. Wow, I didn't realize, that's an awesome view of this team.
  13. That's freakin funny I don't care what anyone says lol.
  14. For some odd reason, I just don't think Flacco will have to win this game. I really feel like we'll be able to run on the Colts. I think this team has found an identity and I'm not sure anyone is really gonna stop it, except, (this is ironic) the Jets. They're the only team right now I feel that can stop our strength. I think Flacco will hook up for about three big throws and that's all he will need. I can't believe how good I feel about this game! I really feel like this team is peaking at the right time. Our record does not reflect how very good we really are. We've played maybe the roughest schedule in football and we're in the playoffs, in the second round. This is a tough football team that is capable of beating the vaunted Colts. Didn't we beat the Titans for the first time in the playoffs in "their" house???? PS, Robert Kraft has offered to rename the Pat's home Ray's Playground. He said it didn't matter whether on offense or defense......Ray was ownin em!
  15. The difference will be the fact that we can protect our QB, and New England cannot protect theirs. See the Jets game for a reference. We will protect Flacco and we will dissect this team. Payback for the Monday night heartbreaker.
  16. There is no freakin way this is going to be a low scoring affair! What???? The #1 offense in the AFC is going against a broken Pats secondary. An our secondary can't stop Brodie Croyle!!!!!!!!! This will definitely be a shootout!!!!!! However our offensive line will be the key. We can stop a pass rush, the Pats cannot.
  17. I wouldn't mind having Rolle as a nickel corner or backup corner. He's quality depth, just not a major starter. Of course, he'd have to take a pay cut to stay.
  18. I know it's waaaaaaayyyy out there, but imagine if we got Haynesworth and paired him with Ngata on the inside and returned to the 4-3 as a base package? Wow, that is definitely flashes of Goose and Adams. It's a pipe dream that'll never happen, but wow oh wow wouldn't that be defensive hell for opposing offensive lineman!
  19. It seems the Jets are going to sign every FA/cut player this year lol. Seriously, are the writers getting bored or what? Everytime someone is available there's a sports writer out there....."hmmm, I'll think he'll go to the Jets". I seriously doubt he comes back to Bmore.
  20. If McAlister finds out that there is no market for him, he may change his tune. Maybe. haha
  21. Mike Flynn is a major reason why I want to retain Brown. It's so nice not to see the center pancaked on his ass ever freakin passing play. We absolutely need to protect Flacco, he is now the future of this team.
  22. It's just irriatating that Ray would want to play for a joke of team like the Cowboys. Jones is on his way to becoming the next Al Davis if he's not careful. He paying high dollar for over the hill and risky players and the risks are not panning out for him. Good luck Ray, careful what u wish for is all I'm sayin.
  23. Wouldn't it be crazy if we ended up resigning him at a discount??? haha McAlister and Reed playin Safety, not bad.
  24. Wow.......all I can say is.............wow.
