  1. Turnovers: - Peterson dropped a handoff. - Favre threw over the middle (slant) to a receiver who was standing behind three linebackers and next to a safety. - Harvin dropped the ball while running backwards trying to get outside. - Berrian dropped the ball while being tackled. - Favre threw his Famous Throw. The ONLY turnover that the Saints really forced themselves was the strip of Harvin. The two interceptions were disastrous throws, and for the two other fumbles, the ball was never even touched by a Saint until after it'd hit the ground. I refuse to believe that that game was even minutely a product of the Saints' defense as it was Vikings nerves and mistakes.
  2. He sure wants out of town... http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/01/30/troy-smith-wants-to-play-for-the-browns/
  3. They did not force turnovers so much as receive them.
  4. Because the Saints had no right to win against Minnesota, and because the Colts are even better than the Vikings.
  5. I never even noticed the thread! Let alone that you'd made the group already. I'm in.
  6. They definitely don't belong there, and won't be there long. I think the huffing and puffing about not being in the top 25 is hilarious. Want to be in the top 25? Beat W&M.
  7. Mike Williams is a nuisance who doesn't deserve to be on an NFL roster. He was dismissed from school for a year because of academic dishonesty, he was suspended for a game for violating team rules, and then quit the team when threatened with another suspension just two weeks later. Yes, he made Greg Paulus look like Colt McCoy for awhile. He was also on pace to break every Syracuse receiving record. But he's the most immature good player coming out of college in a very long time.
  8. Fallout 3.
  9. I gotta say, I disagree with everything you said. haha Anita Marks doesn't even deserve the press for leaving, and I think 105.7 is actually a really good station. At least for Baltimore standards.
  10. Well, they got the next closest thing. David Garrard. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/01/25/david-garrard-pro-bowler/
  11. Then please explain to me how the defensive ranking changed from 22nd in 1998 to 2nd in 1999. Should you use your argument of Newsome or Lewis making the changes, please explain why you think those changes were made in 1999, and not 1996, 1997, or 1998. Furthermore, please explain why you don't think that Billick influenced the defensive changes, or any evidence you have that Billick wasn't a very good defensive mind. I'm not being cute, I just genuinely don't understand any argument that considers that Billick inherited the excellent Ravens' defense, rather than built it largely himself.
  12. 83 innings of Bedard aren't worth the money they would cost. Money that could (and should) be used on something more valuable.
  13. I disagree. He's just insurance. Signing Bedard, however, would DEFINITELY be a step backwards.
  14. Prove that Ozzie Newsome did them and not Brian Billick.
  15. Aaron Wilson is reporting, also via PFT, that Jackson is interviewing for the Raiders' head coaching job. ...that is currently occupied.
  16. What evidence do you have that it wasn't Billick's defense in the first place? What evidence do you have that Lewis had anything to do with the success of the Ravens' defense? Did you know that the Ravens' defense was never higher than even 22nd in yardage until Billick's first year as coach? Did you know that the Ravens' defense was ranked second in the NFL in yardage during Billick's first year as coach? Brian Billick was an offensive coach, surely, but he cannot be discredited simply because his defense was perennially better than his offense. In fact, he should be credited profusely for the tradition of defense and tough football that he brought.
  17. ...don't say Vince Young, now, either. Because he is replacing Philip Rivers. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/01/20/vince-young-replaces-philip-rivers-on-pro-bowl-roster/
  18. The three current Pro Bowl QBs for the AFC are Manning, Rivers, and Schaub. Brady and Roethlisberger are injured and won't play ( http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/01/20/shoulder-injury-keeps-roethlisberger-out-of-pro-bowl/ ). Manning won't play if the Colts make it to the Super Bowl--which, let's face it, is a distinct possibility. Look at the remaining AFC quarterbacks: http://www.nfl.com/stats/categorystats?archive=false&conference=0011&statisticCategory=PASSING&season=2009&seasonType=REG&experience=null&tabSeq=0&qualified=true&Submit=Go Flacco and Orton are the only quarterbacks left to make an argument for. While he might not deserve it necessarily, it would be very cool if our second year quarterback was in the Pro Bowl.

  20. Yes it does. The truth remains the truth, regardless of the following circumstances.
  21. Agreed. DC, this isn't baseball. The seasons in football mesh, and therefore affect one another. The second the Suer Bowl is over, the effects of having no CBA agreement will be felt. Honestly, questions about "a few unsigned players and salary caps"? Besides the fact that those are two enormous factors that will change the landscape of the sport, there are countless other issues facing the league, players, fans, and everyone else involved.
  22. You're misunderstanding. Flacco improved during the season, but he dropped off again during the playoffs when he played the best teams at the most important times. Sanchez has had two of his best games in the playoffs, against two good teams.
  23. Sanchez has improved over the course of the season. Could you really say that about Flacco by the playoffs last season?
  24. So if the Jets win this weekend, Ryan's a better coach than Harbaugh? And if he doesn't, they're tied? That logic doesn't seem childish and/or foolish to you?
  25. http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=4833852 I really like the Vikings, now that I think about it.
