Hmmm...well Washington just hired Dan Quinn to be their HC. I'm going to go out on a limb and hope they talked a bit with Roquan before promoting Orr. I think Harbs (and maybe DeCosta) is having an end of season presser tomorrow, so maybe that will also shed some light on the DC choice.

I'm surprised it wasn't Weaver, he was the Assistant Coach, but then I really don't know who would be best to carry on MacDonald's strategy.

Just announced, Ravens name Zach Orr as new Defensive Coordinator.

The Sun reports that Dennard Wilson our DB coach is going to Tennessee to be their DC.

The danger is MacD going to take a bunch of Ravens' defensive assistants with him.

Well, just another kick in the gut after the loss to KC. MacDonald will be sorely missed. He's got a great defensive mind. I think it would be best for us to hire someone from within who worked closely with him. Maybe that would be Weaver or the DB coach. Forgot his name. More kicks to come when we start losing players to free agency. I think we're a ways from hitting bottom yet but headed in that direction. I think Monken will stay. He's still the best OC we've ever had.

I hope so too but the Seahawks are going to give McD a live interview. I believe it might even be today. Keep your fingers crossed.

I disagree. Harbs stopped going for the first-down on 4th all the time when it was under 3 yards to go based on the analytics and went with his own coaching judgement. And, yes we have a franchise qb---geez the guy is going to get his second MVP award in 5 years and he led this team awesomely through the middle to end of the season and against the Texans! Did he lose to Mahomes? Yes. He lost to the best quarterback in the league right now who's also a 2-time MVP. And he almost pulled it out until Flowers in his exuberance to score lost the ball on the 1 foot line. You have such personal animosity to Harbaugh for reasons I can't fathom that it clouds your whole outlook on the Ravens. When they were winning big this year you were nowhere to be found. They lose a game and up you pop you to spew your dissension and demoralization. I won't bother responding to this line of irrational hatred again.

And when he added Monken and MacDonald. I didn't like Monken's game plan for the playoff game, but there's no doubt he improved this offense a lot from what it was in the past. I didn't like the way KC trucked on down the field on their opening TD drive, but MacDonald adjusted for the rest of the game. Those 2 guys made a huge difference in the team this year. And Harbaugh learned from his past mistake of relying too much on analytics and went with his coaching instincts more over the last half of the season. This has been a very successful franchise due to Bisciotti, DaCosta(and Newsome), and Harbs for a long, long time. Few teams have had the success this franchise has enjoyed. Now things are going to get difficult due to us having so many free agents and limits of our cap space. That doesn't negate what's been achieved here in the past. This is when the real fans come out and support the team while they re-load. That doesn't mean we won't criticize a move here and there, but it's obvious this team will be back sooner rather than later. We have a franchise qb on offense and a franchise leader on defense in Smith. Those are 2 good building blocks for the future. It's easy to be on the bandwagon when they're going lights out, now we'll see how many can stand by during the re-tuning the team has to do.

I know he's highly thought of in the business but I don't consider him irreplaceable like Monken and MacDonald.

You can always count on him to show up after a loss.

Hopefully, Flowers recovers from this. He was devastated about the fumble. But, if it hadn't been for him, we wouldn't have even scored our first touchdown. He is a great talent and he's ours. Yes, the taunting was immature, but I'll bet KC had been riding him the whole game and got inside his head. He'll learn from that. The O-line needs some rebuilding, especially the tackles. Maybe through a combination of the draft and free agency. The defense is going to be a shell of what it was next year due to all the players leaving and that is our biggest worry.

Just a really sad outcome. Tsyl has a point that we didn’t run the ball enough. Our assistant coaches were out coached. And we lost our poise.

It’s up to Monken and MacDonald. We have the better personnel. It’s coming down to coaching and play calling.

If that's how it plays out, I'll be more than happy.

What kind of game are you expecting? I think it will be a close nail-biter, perhaps coming down to a Justin Tucker FG. I base that on the fact that there are two really good defenses playing. My main concern with the KC offense is Pacheco more so than Mahomes. I think we'll be ready for Mahomes but afraid Pacheco will run over us while we're fixated with their quarterback. We'll need to run the ball effectively ourselves to keep the Chiefs' offense off the field and wear down their defense. The 2 guys that give me the most hope for a win on our side are MacDonald and Monken. Should be a really good game.

And give the Chiefs one more thing to defend against.

Wow! I would love to see both Andrews and Likely on the field at the same time.

The Ravens are capable of beating the Chiefs but it will require intensity of focus and ability for MacDonald and Monken to adjust on-the-fly. The Chiefs' defense is as solid as ours. Their offense is all Mahomes and Pacheco. We have to pressure Mahomes without letting Pacheco run wild. A key to victory would be getting an early lead.

FWIW after the game Harbs said 'Gus is OK'. Maybe we'll know more Tuesday.

I think it will be a close game, but I'd rather face Mahomes rather than the Bills with their 'automatic first downs' using the 'tush-push'! Allen is like a runaway horse when he decides to take off. As good as Pacheco is, I'd rather face him than Allen. Right at this moment, I think the Ravens have the better team. We just have to show up and be fired up like we have been.
